A muffled sound silenced the council hall instantly. Everyone tensed their muscles instinctively, looking towards the head of the long table.
There lay a golden throne twice the width of a normal one.
On the throne sat an elderly man, bloated and with white hair and beard.
His skin was thin, almost transparent, clearly showing the fine blood vessels beneath. His eyes were cloudy, gaze unfocused as he looked ahead.
Even breathing seed a laborious task for him. He tapped the table, making a dull knocking sound, “This is a war that must be launched.”
“After this war, only one between us and the opposing Federation can remain.”
“But before the war begins, there are more important matters around the border and fortress waiting for us.”
“This matter is the reason for the war.”
After saying a long passage in one breath, the elderly Philip III paused for quite a while, but no one dared to interrupt him this ti.
“A month ago, the border fortress was attacked, though this is just the official line.”
“In reality, we did suffer an attack; the number of deaths exceeded five tis what was announced. Our attackers were not Federation spies or those Transcendent beings, but…”

His voice suddenly risen, “Tell , everyone!”
“Give a reason not to wage war!”
“We must retrieve that body from the border to the Royal City!”
“Now, does anyone oppose?”
After a long silence, a voice suddenly sounded.
“Your Majesty, where is it?”
“Is it in our hands?”
Everyone’s breathing slightly halted.
“Yes, and no.”
Philip III shook his head, “It is indeed in the fortress, but buried deep underground!”
