Chapter 946: Chapter 703: No Deal, No Hurt_2

“A dragon is a dragon, truly different. It even knows how to hide.”

Henrik let out a sigh of relief, circling Evans’ rear a few tis before finally determining a general area.

“The whole body of a dragon is treasure, and its vitality is astonishingly strong. So parts, even if severed, should grow back on their own, right?”

As he spoke, he followed the gaps in the dragon scales and thrust his weapon into one section.

Henrik didn’t dare use too much force, afraid of damaging whatever was encased beneath the dragon scales.

Splurt!

The resistance was greater than expected. Even with the rules suppressing him, draining a large portion of his blood, Evans’ defense made Henrik, a Third Tier Transcendent, struggle considerably.

No trade ans no slaughter.

The empty hall echoed with Henrik’s panting. His eyes glimred in the darkness as he eagerly thrust in and pulled out.

Repeating this over and over.

“Not much blood, so that saves ti cleaning up.”

After finally breaking through the dragon scales’ defense, Henrik found the treasure he sought.

“So small?”

He looked up at Evans’ enormous body. “Is this normal for all of you, or just you?”

“Never mind, let’s hurry and cut it down and keep it safe. With its rarity, this thing can trade for so much.”

With a swing of the blade.

Henrik turned a mighty dragon into sothing less than whole.

Missing the key piece, it was uncertain if Evans could ever regenerate it.

Having completed this, Henrik felt no guilt. He restored the damaged dragon scales, glanced around once, and prepared to leave.

But before he left, recalling the interrogation of Chachi earlier in the day, a thought struck Henrik: “All great defenses are breached from within.”

“No, I need to figure out a way to stir them.”

“At the very least, I can’t let them remain so united.”

With a faint smile on his lips, Henrik sought out Chachi, who was being held captive.

After finishing everything, he carefully hid his treasure and silently left.

Night passed quietly.

In a haze, Henrik unexpectedly dread—a rarity for him. He saw a towering stone column that pierced the sky and ground, and that column was…

Bang!

“Mr. Henrik, sothing’s happened!”

Awakened abruptly from his dream, Henrik sat up sharply and saw a visibly anxious girl.

He recalled that this girl’s na seed to be Vina, often seen learning from Goway. Feeling a sense of urgency, he asked.

“Ms. Goway instructed to notify you to get to the top-floor room. Amanda’s condition has changed!”

Monts later, Henrik reached the top-floor room.

Aside from Goway, nearly everyone else was present.

“What happened?”

“Take a look at this.” Goway handed Henrik a paper.

Henrik quickly scanned through it and raised his head, shocked.

“It’s Amanda. Roger found Amanda, but they ran into so trouble and are now trying to make their way back here.”

Henrik’s face lit up with joy, and the others visibly relaxed as well.

Yesterday’s victory had boosted everyone’s confidence, but without Roger, there remained so lingering concerns among the group.

“Roger’s influencing this body to convey ssages to us. In here, he also ntioned possible attacks.”

He flicked the paper in his hand. “His warning is definitely tily.” Henrik cracked a joke.

“But what now? How can we help them?”

Hathaway asked.

“We’re too weak and lack the necessary knowledge.” Higurashi Chika remarked.

“I think the dragon and Chachi might hold the key.”

Goway pointed out the critical issue, “Since they managed to co here, their goal is Amanda’s body. I think they must have a way to return to their original world.”

“Could we possibly co up with plans regarding this?”

“That’s indeed a good idea.”

Michihiro Morita chid in, as the chains and steel spikes binding Evans were crafted by him.

“Chachi is easier, as he’s disclosed plenty of information. As for the dragon, its imnse power and arrogant nature make persuasion near impossible.”

“Moreover, strong beings often hold such pride that, at tis, they’d rather die than yield to us.”

Morita added.

With power reaching a certain level, they might fear death, but there remain transcendent beings who stand by their convictions—even transcending their fear of demise for certain beliefs.

“Perhaps we can find a way to sow discord between the two?” Yukiko suggested.

“After all, that’s often how it’s shown on TV.”

Hearing this, Henrik chuckled softly, “If that’s the case, then it should be a lot simpler.”

“What?”

The group showed puzzled expressions.

Henrik said nothing further, now only wanting to wrap things up quickly and head back to the Tower of Shadows. It wouldn’t be long before an entertaining drama unfolded.

Elsewhere, Evans opened his eyes in utter exhaustion. He tried to move but was t with searing pain.

Other than his head, his limbs and wings were all shackled, his body hollowed out, and his strength had plumted to its lowest ebb.

“Why has it all collapsed?”

Summoning what remained of his will, a faint mark began to erge: “There’s still hope. If I can isolate myself from this world’s oppressive rules, I have a chance to restore my power, then…”

“Huh?”

As his thoughts raced, Evans suddenly felt a cold breeze stir. Instinctively, he shrank back, but monts later he was overco with an empty, desolate sensation.

“Haha…”

“Right, it must be because I’m too gravely injured.”

Evans muttered to himself, taking deep, deliberate breaths to muster courage. After several attempts, he finally tried tightening his form once more.

But nothing happened.

If he could take on human form, Evans would likely be drenched in sweat by now.

The horrifying thought in his mind began to swell, until it consud his every notion.

In his panic, Evans slowly lowered his head; his slender neck extended downward bit by bit, until he gazed at a certain area below.

Scarred and mottled.

Crack! His dragon scales split open, revealing a deep, sunken cavity!

“No!”

With fury rushing to his heart, Evans roared in anguish and unleashed every ounce of his strength in desperation. Madness overtook him as he struggled violently, activating the restraints binding his body. But the excruciating agony was too much to bear; his vision darkened, and he lost consciousness entirely.

Ti slipped away unknowingly—until, in a blurry trance, Evans seed to hear soone calling his na.

“It was just a dream—a truly terrible dream.”

Evans forced a laugh as he opened his eyes to see a familiar face.

“Chachi, you’re still alive?”

He blurted out instinctively, noticing the ragged state of Chachi, whose body at least remained intact but bore patches of bloodstains.

“Mr. Evans, you’ve finally awakened.”

“Why are you here?”

Evans questioned, his peripheral vision catching sight of that sa missing part of himself once more. Pain stabbed at his heart, the strong stimulus leaving Evans gasping for air.

It was then he noticed the unusual blood traces on Chachi’s body, concentrated particularly near his hands, jawline, and lips.

“What did you do?”

“What did you do to ?”

Anger stripped Evans of his rationality, his voice booming with fury.

“What?” Chachi looked bewildered.

The mix of physical agony and psychological humiliation churned inside him as Evans stared at Chachi’s unblemished appearance. His mind was flooded with countless images.

“Why and not you?!”

“You’re a dragon too, aren’t you? You have that thing too!”

Evans scread at the top of his lungs, “Soone, co quickly! I want to report him.”

“He’s a dragon! He’s also a dragon!”

“Castrate him!!”

By the end, whether due to his weakened state or so other reason, Evans’ voice carried undertones of sobbing.

Indeed, even for dragons, so things are incredibly hard to regenerate; furthermore, even if they do, the likelihood of them becoming functional again remains slim…

anwhile at Kaer Morhen, Roger was naturally unaware of these events. After transmitting his ssage, he promptly retrieved the two fundantal Structural Skills gifted by Jora.

The Hunter’s Cabin quickly offered guidance, followed by that peculiar fla.

“Organizing and summarizing…”

“Special inheritance generated.”
