Chapter 941: Chapter 701 Welco to Kaer Morhen_2

“But…”

“No buts. Don’t forget your current identity.” Evans sneered coldly. The collar around Chachi’s neck suddenly tightened, eliciting a scream of agony from him.

Boom!

Evans shifted his body, crashing into a tal contraption flying beside him, splitting it into two. He let out a scornful laugh, “Technology is nothing remarkable.”

“But it doesn’t matter. In a world like this, there’s no hope no matter which path you choose.”

Chachi had completely given up. He gritted his teeth, enduring the pain within his body. Though this was a low-energy world, if Evans continued to act recklessly like this…

He would undoubtedly pay the price.

At dawn, Henrik woke up early. Ever since Roger had left Kaer Morhen, Henrik hadn’t stepped foot outside the castle.

Raising his head, he gazed at the room at the top of the castle. Unknowingly, more than half a year had passed, but there hadn’t been any news.

During this ti, in order to prevent Adeline from worrying, he had Claudia disguise Amanda’s voice and contact Adeline a few tis. Occasionally, she would transform into Amanda’s appearance to send so photos to Adeline.

Matters in the real world were relatively easy to resolve, but starting three months ago, Amanda began exhibiting certain abnormalities.

According to Goway and Uma, it was the soul hidden within Amanda’s body searching for an opportunity.

No one here was versed in the ancient magic inherited by the Dragonborn nor could they take any targeted asures. Although everything seed calm thereafter, a shadow still lingered over everyone’s heart.

“Good morning, Mr. Henrik!”

As he walked through the castle, Henrik frequently encountered Demon Hunters heading out to train in Mist Forest. They greeted him warmly, and so bold female apprentices even sneaked flirtatious glances at Henrik.

In the past, Henrik might have righteously called that female apprentice aside to impart so one-on-one tutoring, embodying a selfless spirit.

But now, he simply pretended as if nothing had happened, hastily heading to the eting room to discuss the castle’s state with everyone before sparing ti for training.

During Roger’s absence, everyone felt as though they had lost their backbone. Like tightly wound springs, they were using every available mont to train frantically.

“Nowadays, everyone has co to realize that our world has undergone a fundantal shift. The ranks of Demon Hunters are still expanding, but we need to slow down the pace of growth and proceed with selective recruitnt.”

“Picking students who align more closely with our philosophy.”

When dealing with serious matters, Henrik was extrely reliable. After all, most of Kaer Morhen’s top warriors were only proficient in combat and had little capacities in other areas.

Or perhaps, they excelled solely in the fields they were familiar with.

Henrik was the only one who had accumulated so experience in coordinating and managent.

Everyone had co together because of Roger. Kaer Morhen was not a Transcendent organization; it felt more like their shared ho.

Each mber had a wealth of experiences, and once they left here, they might struggle to blend into any other group.

Only in Kaer Morhen could they lower their guard and devote themselves to doing their utmost.

“Frankly, I suspect that Roger, that brat, has run off to enjoy himself outside. Next ti…”

At the end, Henrik deliberately lightened the mood with a joke. But before he could finish his sentence, a sudden and deafening rumble sounded from afar.

Everyone quickly exited the eting room, glancing into the distance.

At the outskirts of Mist Forest, in the fog-covered area, the rumbling continued ceaselessly. The mist began converging, as though sothing terrifying was about to erge from within.

“What’s happening?”

“Are we under attack?!”

Everyone exchanged uneasy glances.

Henrik, adept at maneuvering, along with the others adept at concealing their strength, had ensured Kaer Morhen maintained tight communication with Arnia’s Hunters Guild through the use of so Alchemy Potions.

While they might not be as close as a family, an attack seed entirely improbable.

“That’s a frightening power.”

Higurashi Chika suddenly spoke, lifting her gaze slowly. Her sharp killing intent seed capable of piercing the fog and striking the monster concealed within.

“Disable the outer defenses around the mist.”

“After all, that area is rely the periter of Kaer Morhen. Such attacks, if repeated a few tis, will disrupt the order in the forest.”

Goway added in agreent. In addition to researching Alchemy, she had started studying the castle’s internal defenses. While she didn’t master everything, simple impacts often revealed critical issues.

Henrik’s expression grew solemn.

“Don’t worry, no matter what’s behind this, it’s as good as dead!”

Higurashi Chika said coldly.

“Alright.” Henrik nodded. Everyone leapt down from the castle and arrived at the suspension bridge near the canyon.

Henrik raised both hands, manipulating the controls inside Mist Forest.

By then, the disturbance in the distance had already alerted the Demon Hunter apprentices within the castle. One by one, they stepped out of their rooms, gazing at the turbulent mist and discussing among themselves.

“What’s going on?”

“Are we under attack? Has an unknown Cursed World arisen nearby?”

Shush!

The distant mist dissipated, the earth shifted, and trees retreated to both sides. Soon, a broad path leading to the edge of the suspension bridge appeared.

And then, everyone saw it—a monstrous, nacing Giant Dragon.

Gasps filled the air.

Henrik and the others were relatively unfazed, having encountered Hillrenes and Sonia before.
