Chapter 928: Chapter 695: The World After the Fifth Tier

“Being acknowledged by the world’s rules is a relatively slow process, and this is our biggest challenge. Aligning one’s own power attributes with the surrounding world is only one aspect; there are many other unknown factors…”

Sonia said irritably, “Take this ti for instance—I don’t even know why I’ve turned into this current state. Also, during the transformation process, my body structure seems to have encountered so issues.”

“Recently, the back pain has been getting worse.”

At the latter half of her remark, Amanda silently shifted her gaze away, while Roger chose to remain silent.

“Ahem, are you saying it will take a long ti before your power can recover enough to drive the array ritual?”

Roger pointed out the key issue.

“More or less…”

Sonia replied with a hint of helplessness. After all, every Transcendent entering Another World is prepared for the long haul—it’s simply not sothing that can be accomplished overnight.

However, the current situation was particularly complex. This crossing wasn’t ant to enhance their power; Amanda’s consciousness was residing in Dora’s body, and to complicate matters further, the entire world had been swept into a massive vortex.

No one could escape unscathed.

In such a scenario, hoping to stay uninvolved was almost impossible. Jora wouldn’t allow it, and Heyman wouldn’t sit idly by either.

Roger understood. Even if there were thods to compress this process, they weren’t ideal choices for them.

“Let’s discuss another approach—strengthening your power.”

Roger had considered taking Sonia’s place to control the array, but to ensure the ritual’s completion with minimal power usage, many steps had been deliberately removed in its initial design.

What was once seemingly an advantage had now beco a limiting factor.

Sonia’s power had already reached its limits. However, if she could elevate it further, her resistance against the world’s pressure would also greatly improve.

The likelihood of successfully initiating the ritual would significantly increase.

Moreover, Roger was deeply curious about what lay beyond the Fifth Tier. Though it had only been casually ntioned before, no specific steps were discussed.

He could also tell that the paths to advancent here were vastly different from those in Another World.

“The Fifth Tier, huh…”

Sonia’s expression was laden with complexity.

“I should’ve ntioned this to you—before reaching the Fifth Tier, and even after ascending to it, longevity and vitality are inescapable topics.”

“And this is what I’m referring to as the core, the foundation of everything—Life Essence.”

Hearing Sonia’s words, Roger thought about that green halo shrouding Jora’s body.

Whether subdued by design or for another reason, at least for now, Jora’s absolute power, while imnse, hadn’t resulted in overwhelming domination.

However, the green glow enveloping her body was enough to be a nightmare for any Fourth Tier Transcendent.

Failing to break through that layer of defense ant being unable to harm her. In such a scenario, prolonged resistance would inevitably lead to failure.

“Everyone’s core is their ultimate secret. For us, it’s even more important than life and the soul. To understand the core’s structure is to grasp one’s ultimate weakness.”

Sonia looked at Roger. Their ti together had been brief. Even though profound bonds and trust had previously been forged, they were more out of necessity or unwilling compromise than anything else.

Under such circumstances, asking Sonia to entrust her life was understandably difficult.

“Sounds like a bizarre alchemy spell.” Roger remarked.

“That’s not entirely incorrect.”

Sonia was noncommittal.

“It seems we have no alternatives.” Amanda spoke suddenly, breaking the sowhat stagnant atmosphere. She stepped in front of Sonia. “Can I talk to you alone?”

Sonia was slightly startled, and a hint of surprise appeared on Roger’s face. “Amanda, Sonia…”

“Sure.”

Sonia interrupted Roger, her eyes revealing a trace of amusent. Despite her animalistic face, her emotions were still clearly conveyed.

“Promise , Roger, please give us so privacy. Don’t use any of your abilities to eavesdrop—I know you can easily do so.”

“And we wouldn’t even notice.”

Amanda looked at Roger with a serious expression.

“Promise , okay?”

“Why so serious? It’s not like I’d actually eavesdrop…” Roger grinned, but within Amanda’s pupils, he caught a rare sign of earnestness.

“Promise , okay?” Amanda repeated, but this ti her tone softened significantly.

Roger didn’t speak further, carefully observing Amanda. The once naïve, cheerful high school girl had entirely shed every trace of innocence.

Sonia followed Amanda to the other side of the palace. A light glimred from Sonia’s horn, and Amanda extended her hands to raise a barrier.

Unexpectedly for Roger, their conversation lasted only a brief mont. Just as he was internally wrestling over whether to violate Amanda’s request and secretly listen in…

The barrier broke, and the conversation had already ended.

“Uh… that was quick.”

“Finished already?”

To be honest, Roger felt a pang of regret. Everything around him was within his control; so things, even if done secretly, wouldn’t have been discovered by Amanda.

“You lucky rogue.” Sonia snorted and shot Roger a glance.
