Chapter 91: Chapter 091: Banshee Fairy
School was indeed a place full of gossip, and Roger had effortlessly gathered a pile of information about Judd and his two companions.
Of course, the information here was a mix of truth and lies, many of which required Roger’s own judgnt, and even the people providing the information were unsure of its authenticity.
At that mont, Roger especially missed the Seal of Axis. Once he mastered this magical symbol, similar tasks would presumably beco much easier.
With the Axis Dharma Seal’s ability to bewitch people’s minds, he could easily ask anything he wished at that ti.
However, in the ga, this Dharma Seal’s effect was still far from being at will, and it was uncertain what it would be like in reality.
Having obtained the information he wanted, Roger naturally wouldn’t stay behind waiting to play the oboe.
...
He phoned Henrik and asked him to arrange the follow-up actions. Taking advantage of the mont when no one was paying attention, Roger discreetly slipped out of the group, grabbed his backpack, and climbed over the school’s wall.
He took a ride to the location provided by Henrik.
An ordinary apartnt building.
Searching through the bag of docunts for the key, Roger found the corresponding door number and opened the door to enter.
The room wasn’t very large, and so of its spatial structures were specially disguised so that even if a thief visited, it would be almost impossible to find the items inside.
Locating the equipnt Henrik ntioned, Roger didn’t inspect them in detail but instead pulled out a long, black case.
It contained the Sword Sheath that he had commissioned Henrik to have soone craft.
Opening the box, a jet-black tal sword sheath lay flat within.
Roger happily took out the Sword Sheath, experiencing a cool touch at his grasp. He found the Steel Sword and sheathed it.
Click.
It fit perfectly without a single gap.
The Sword Sheath had attached straps, allowing Roger to comfortably carry the entire sword on his back, and more importantly, this modern, chanically-produced alloy sheath incorporated so special chanisms.
On the Sword Sheath, there were a series of hidden injection slots, which allowed Roger to pour in the sword oil he had prepared beforehand.
He activated the chanism.
The built-in machinery within the sheath would then evenly spray the appropriate sword oil onto the blade.
In battle, he could even switch oils on the fly or apply a second coating, which was much more convenient than the old thod of wiping with a rag.
Of course, the most important aspect was that it was cool!
During combat, sheathing the sword and then drawing it again, the blade would glint nacingly, its lethality enhanced, and it could exhibit the effects of the different sword oils against various enemies. Just thinking about it made Roger incredibly excited.
He looked over the equipnt Henrik had provided for him, potions and dust drugs, a complete array. Among these were several items Roger had not encountered before.
There were temporary adrenaline boosters for desperate fights, catalytic potions, sprays for coagulating surface wounds, and even small doses of injection fluids for blocking pain receptors.
Henrik even thoughtfully provided a gun for Roger.
Of course, this was as good as scrap tal to Roger, who had never handled a gun before, but the additional batch of throwable daggers was sothing he was particularly fond of.
Attaching the useful potions to a specially-made belt and adjusting his clothes, Roger suddenly felt like he resembled a true Demon Hunter.
Wearing a pair of leather boots, custom trousers, and a jacket, Roger changed into the new clothes. Although his face appeared youthful in the mirror, the look in his eyes and his physical stature could already give off a sharp, intimidating aura.
Selecting several potential IDs to carry with him, Roger picked up the case and went downstairs. He found the car Henrik had left for him, started it, and drove towards Danielle’s ho.
“This woman lives quite out of the way…”
Danielle’s address was not in town but 20 kiloters away from the town center by a lake.
Naturally, this was Crystal Lake.
The photo of Danielle showed she wasn’t particularly striking in appearance, with brown hair and very pale skin. Her eyes were large, the only notable feature on her face.
After parking the car and checking the IDs in his pocket, Roger walked up to Danielle’s front door. Before he could even approach, a faint sound made its way into his ears.
“Are you kidding ?”
“Watching a movie at ho in broad daylight…”
“And it’s live ammunition too?”
Roger’s face darkened, but he certainly couldn’t just stand at the door waiting for the person inside to finish.
Bang, bang, bang!
“Police!” Roger knocked heavily on the bedroom door.
But the person inside seed not to hear, continuing to battle on their own.
Roger couldn’t help but use more force, and with his current physical condition, he made the door fra tremble with his knocks.
“I’m looking for Danielle to investigate Judd’s drowning incident.”
Soon, a young woman in a large nightgown appeared at the door.
“Are you looking for ?”
“You’re Danielle?”
Roger was slightly taken aback.
The woman in front of him looked quite different from her photo.
The facial features were the sa, and even by fair assessnt, she seed prettier in the photo.
But she had a special quality about her, her ordinary features combined to give this woman an extra alluring touch.
From the outside, it was hard to believe she was just a high school student.
“Anyone who has a girlfriend like Danielle would probably be physically exhausted,” Roger suddenly rembered a comnt from a male classmate.
This woman could really be considered a beauty.
“What do you want to ask?”
Danielle didn’t seem to plan on letting Roger into the house, casually sitting on a lounge chair at the door; a light breeze blew past and Roger could even see the vacuum beneath her nightgown hem.
“Can you describe in detail what happened the day Judd died?”
Although the information was already quite detailed, Henrik once said that those ghostly things are deceptive, and sotis even without the person speaking, the guys from the Federal Governnt would automatically help polish their words.
After all, no one likes unsolved cases.
Moreover, cases that require a Demon Hunter often have many unreasonable aspects that ordinary people wouldn’t think involve supernatural existence.
So, to complete the mission and close the case quickly, much of the information in their records is not very reliable.
“It was a very ordinary afternoon, I rember it was a Saturday, we went boating on the lake together, brought so food and drinks, and we drifted on the lake for most of the afternoon.”
“As the sun began to set, Judd suddenly started acting a bit off, but I didn’t take it seriously at the ti. He was a very good swimr, so the two of us were in the water…”
Danielle gave Roger an ambiguous glance.
“But when he was done, his body began convulsing abnormally. I tried desperately to hold onto him, but his movents were too violent, he even pulled under the water with him.”
“By the ti I managed to break free and struggled to the surface, there was no sign of him on Crystal Lake anymore.”
“That’s pretty much what happened.”
After hearing Danielle’s account, Roger’s eyelids started twitching. If it really happened as Danielle said, then Judd’s death was indeed…
Too unfortunate.
