Chapter 905: Chapter 683: Tuge Family_2
anwhile, in the chaos of the palace, countless servants and guards were busy tidying up.
Suddenly, a scream echoed from the depths of the palace. The young King barely opened his eyes, feeling a burning pain on his cheek. Only then did he realize that everything that had happened was no dream.
“Kill him!”
“I want him dead!”
The young King raged, “That damned bastard! He destroyed my Erald Palace, stole my horse, and… and my poor lissa… smack!”
Before he could finish speaking, a sharp pain struck the other side of his face. He was knocked to the ground again. Clambering up awkwardly, he saw the Queen dressed in fiery red.
“That woman has already been sent back to her husband’s side.”
The Queen spoke nonchalantly.
“Mother, you have to help …”
At the dressing table near the window, the beautiful Queen applied light makeup, showing no concern for her son’s complaints.
Her movents were slow, as though she had all the ti in the world to admire her beauty from every angle. Finally, she added casually, “You should be grateful that I only have one son like you.”
A simple sentence hit like a cold bucket of water poured over his head. The young King shuddered and clamped his mouth tightly shut.
He was the King of this nation, but he was not its master.
“Tell , what is the first iron law of Erode?”
“The Giant Dragons are the rightful masters of this world.”
“Good. And the second?” the Queen continued.
“The purpose of humanity’s existence is to serve the Giant Dragons.”
Upon hearing this, the Queen paused her movents, then slowly turned to look at her son.
In this mont, the young King begrudgingly admitted that his mother was indeed the most beautiful woman in the kingdom.
“Chachi is a Giant Dragon, and the one beside him is even more powerful.”
“Mother… what are you… what are you doing?”
The King, as though sensing sothing, rubbed his swollen cheek and asked weakly.
“Fulfilling a Queen’s duty.”
“What duty?!” The young King’s voice trembled.
The Queen rely smiled, saying nothing. She stepped forward, patted her son’s shoulder, and whispered, “Forget everything that happened today. Don’t leave the royal palace for the ti being.”
With a faint fragrance lingering in the air, the Queen’s figure gradually faded into the distance.
“Remain vigilant. For the next few days, I won’t be in the palace.”
The young King’s face flushed red with humiliation. He had already realized what was about to happen. A thought burst into his mind as he began sprinting frantically. “Mother, don’t go!”
The Queen rely waved her hand with a smile, not stopping or hesitating for a mont.
A trendous sense of sha surged in his chest. “How can you do this after what happened to Father?!”
“My foolish child, do you know who sent there in the first place?”
The young King looked as if he’d been struck by lightning. He stared blankly at the vanishing silhouette and collapsed onto the ground.
For the first ti, he understood the true color of the crown.
Elsewhere, after sending the eager Chachi away, Roger circled around Sonia several tis.
“Strange, very strange—why are you the only one who ended up like this?”
Sonia snorted and rolled her eyes disdainfully. She had initially planned to act alone, but now it seed that leaving Roger’s side would inevitably lead to her being recaptured before long.
She had no choice but to remain near Roger for the ti being.
“It looks like you’re destined to beco my mount now.”
After exchanging so information, Roger voiced the question that had been nagging at him.
“The Supre Dragon Court?”
“Chachi said you ca from there?!” Sonia’s eyes widened.
“I thought it was only a legend. So it’s real.”
“It’s a tribunal composed of the most powerful Dragonborn. It’s said that in every world, there are hidden agents of the Supre Dragon Court, and so even believe they are the origin of all dragons.”
“But why… why would Chachi believe that you’re one of them?”
Sonia seed to think of sothing. “Could it be because of your appearance?”
Though Roger’s strength surpassed Sonia’s, it was not a matter of class or tier. Even while heavily injured, Sonia couldn’t fathom why Roger remained entirely unaffected.
What was casually ntioned by one found deeper aning in the mind of the other.
Based on Sonia’s account, the so-called Supre Dragon Court likely stood above all known factions. They traveled across worlds and seed to have access to thods unbound by any rules.
If this were true, could the founder of such a vast organization be soone like him?
After exchanging more information, Roger decided he would help Sonia restore her strength. After all, she was a top-tier Fourth Tier combatant—even under suppression, her knowledge and experience could prove invaluable in many situations.
And since Roger was misunderstood by Chachi, it served as the perfect cover. At this mont, footsteps echoed from outside the door. “Mr. Geralt, I have prepared a splendid lunch for you.”
Shooting Sonia a glance, he continued, “Don’t worry, your mount has also been taken care of…”
“Additionally… the Queen of Roses…”
“I don’t want to see her.” Roger’s cold interruption stopped Chachi mid-sentence. “However, there is sothing else.”
“What are your orders?” Chachi straightened his posture.
“I’m looking for soone.”
“Dora Tuge.” As he spoke, Roger manipulated his power to sketch the image of a woman in the air.
It was the sa woman who had seized control of Amanda’s body.
Chachi’s pupils suddenly contracted.
“It’s her?!”
“You know her?”
Chachi nodded.
“I imagine there’s no one in Erode who hasn’t heard of the Tuge Family.” Chachi cast a careful glance at Roger.
“Their family commands the most powerful empire in this world.”
“The only empire!”
“Moreover, the head of the Tuge Family is also the current Speaker of the Alliance Council!”
“And the Dora Tuge you’re asking about is his younger sister.”
“However, many years ago, she was imprisoned by the Speaker atop Serlon Peak. It’s said that the high tower on the peak was specifically built to detain Dora!”
Chachi spoke each word carefully.
morizing the critical details, Roger pressed further.
“As the Speaker’s sister, why was Dora imprisoned?”
After a mont of thought, Chachi replied, “The official story is that Dora suffered an accident during her ascension to the Fifth Tier. She lost her sanity and must remain confined until she fully recovers.”
He shrugged. “Of course, no one takes those official statents seriously.”
“There are a few rumors circulating privately.”
“So say Dora planned to kill her brother and take his place. She even secretly fostered rebels by leaking classified information to oppose the Alliance.”
“After all, the Alliance’s iron-clad laws have stifled opportunities for those at the bottom to rise.”
“Another version claims that Dora’s talent was simply too exceptional, and restricting her was the only way to maintain balance.”
“And, of course, there’s another theory. So say that Dora Tuge is already dead. Others speculate that the Speaker confined his sister for reasons too… unspeakable to ntion.”
At this, Chachi flashed an ambiguous smile toward Roger.
But Chachi’s smile soon disappeared.
“Serlon Peak?”
“Take there.”
A conflicted look crossed Chachi’s face.
“What’s wrong? You’re unwilling?”
“No, it’s not that.”
Faced with the fiery gaze of the Queen of Roses on one side and Roger’s cold stare on the other, Chachi wisely chose the latter.
“Mr. Geralt, the peak is near the imperial capital. Though desolate, it’s guarded by the Speaker’s most trusted subordinates.”
“If we go there…”
Chachi hesitated.
“Just lead the way. Once we’re there, you can leave on your own.”
With Roger’s assurance, Chachi exhaled a sigh of relief.
“Alright, I’ll go make preparations.”
“You stay here. The place I’m heading to is too dangerous,” Roger instructed Sonia.
A flicker of indecision crossed Sonia’s eyes before she finally spoke. “In my current state, no place can be considered safe.”
“At least if I’m with you, I might be of so use. And if luck favors us, perhaps there will even be unexpected gains.”
Roger nodded, though his expression remained heavy.
Because Dora’s brother in na was, in the truest sense, a Fifth Tier figure.
At this mont, Roger’s body tensed. A notification appeared on the ssage board: “Axis Sword Seal integrated. Relevant information stored in library.”
There was no ti to delve into the details just yet. While the new Sword Seal could boost his strength, it wouldn’t solve his imdiate concerns. His only reliance was on the power currently in his grasp.
However…
Roger’s gaze fell on another notification displayed on the board.
He wondered when the Hunter’s Cabin would finish assimilating the Wings of Shadow. For Roger, the evolution of the Hunter’s Cabin marked a fundantal turning point.
