Chapter 563: Chapter 514: Sin (Two in One)_2 Chapter 563: Chapter 514: Sin (Two in One)_2 “Then let’s complete the task as soon as possible, and find soone else to take our place,” Sergei comforted.
Imdiately after, he changed the subject to sothing lighter, “Co on, let’s go take a look at the twelve new subordinates you’ve just taken over.”
“Maybe we’ll even have so fun.”
“Hmph.”
“I must find that Green as soon as possible and kill him!”
Judith’s pupils glittered, for in her eyes, accomplishing what even Kun had not would be a truly delightful feat.
“Hmph, a Fourth Tier from a lowly world dares to call himself a true Fourth Tier?”
…
Returning once again to Eld, Roger joined Goway in visiting that familiar small town.
Months ago, when they first set foot here, Roger was a Low-Tier Transcendent.
As for Goway, she was nothing more than an ordinary Secret Blood Witch in a family dispute.
In just a few short months, everything had undergone an extraordinary transformation.
Walking through the streets, Roger arrived at the clock shop where he first t Grace.
Ding ding dong.
As he opened the door, a crisp bell rang out, followed by a slightly weary voice from inside the room.
“I’m sorry, we’re closed.”
“It’s , Goway.”
The woman, who had been clearing up with her back to Roger and Goway, turned around, her eyes twitched when she saw Goway, “Oh, dear, I thought I’d never see you again.”
The woman ca out from behind the counter and took several steps forward to give Goway a big hug.
“ too.”
Goway let out a sigh.
“Where are you going? Back there?”
“That’s really not a wise decision.”
As she spoke, she glanced at Roger, “We et again, handso young man. You should talk so sense into her.”
“This is the last ti I’m going back to that place,”
Goway spoke.
“Alright then.”
The woman turned to take out an hourglass, then handed it to Goway, “Take it. I guess by the ti you co back, I’ll no longer be here.”
She sighed, “Everything has changed.”
After waving goodbye to the elderly woman and walking a good distance away, Goway turned back to gaze at the clock shop at the end of her sightline.
“I used to love coming here as a child.”
“I once thought it would remain unchanged, just like the forest.”
After a long while, Roger patted Goway’s shoulder.
“We should go.”
The two arrived deep in the forest and inverted the hourglass; a carriage descended from the sky. In fact, Goway had other ans of entering the Secret Blood Family gathering, but she had insisted on coming here one more ti, probably anticipating so things.
The passage twisted, and when everything settled down, Roger opened the door. Instead of the girl who usually greeted him, there was just silence in the woods. He looked up into the distance, the destruction caused by Tamara not long ago was still vividly visible.
Their arrival startled so people, and a pair of familiar blue eyes darted across the crowd, followed by a girl who walked out.
“Goway, you’re actually alive?”
“Emily?!”
Goway was also surprised.
“What’s going on? Lady Yulia told us that you…”
The girl called Emily was the one who had previously teased Roger on his first visit here. Roger seed to have caught a glimpse of her when he and Uma attacked Tamara the last ti. In the aftermath of the battle, he was busy helping Uma control Tamara and had to leave quickly; he had not expected the girl to have survived the recent calamity.
“What are you doing here?” Emily took Goway’s hands.
“Take away from here, I beg you!”
She spoke hastily, fear evident in her beautiful blue eyes.
“The disaster before led the leaders of the gathering to choose a new Knights and sign an even harsher treaty, I will soon leave this place, to be sent to…”
“Goway!”
Before Emily could finish speaking, a woman’s voice ca from afar.
Goway looked up and saw the familiar yet strange face.
Yulia.
Goway’s mother.
Because of Tamara’s madness, the main mbers of the Secret Blood Family attending the eting had been slaughtered, Yulia escaped by not attending the eting and even beca the most important leader of the entire gathering after that.
However, considering what Tamara had once said, this woman certainly had issues.
Now, upon reflection, it wasn’t hard to understand.
At Grace’s Inheritance Ceremony, Roger had assud Yulia’s absence was due to a woman’s sorrow, but now it seed that might not be the case.
“My daughter, you actually ca back here.”
Yulia walked up to Goway, surrounded by a crowd of people.
“I’m relieved that you’re not my real mother.”
Goway said.
Roger was slightly startled, and he scrutinized Goway carefully. It was apparent that her remark wasn’t spoken in anger, perhaps Grace had once told her sothing.
If it were true as Goway had said, it would indeed be a good thing.
“What are you talking about?”
Yulia spread her hands, “Indeed, I shouldn’t have a daughter like you!”
“Look around you, look at the collapsed houses, look at the injured clan mbers.”
“All of this is because of you!”
Yulia shouted angrily, turning to point at a frail man standing at the back of the crowd.
“Bilbo, tell everyone what you heard that day in the eting room.”
Bilbo stepped forward, his robes fluttering in the wind, looking as though he might fall at any mont, “That day, it wasn’t my true self who attended the eting.”
“It was my Companion Treant.”
He trembled, “That terrible woman broke down the door, she ordered us to hand over Goway, or she would kill everyone!”
“No one knew what was happening, the questions raised by everyone were t with no answers, only the woman’s huge hamr-like fists.”
“In the face of her, we had no power to fight back, we could only watch helplessly as everyone was killed.”
“And then there was the disaster that befell the entire gathering place…”
Goway closed her eyes and sighed.
“I didn’t co back here to fight for control of the family; I just wanted to…”
“What did you want to do?”
“What exactly did you do that enraged Lady Tamara so greatly that she almost destroyed the whole gathering place?”
“If I hadn’t quelled Lady Tamara’s fury, what you would be seeing here today would only be ruins!”
Yulia said loudly.
“No, you’re lying!”
Emily suddenly stood up.
“It wasn’t you; the person who saved us that day was soone else. I didn’t see his face clearly, but I know he was a man.”
“A fierce battle broke out at that ti, and when I woke up, Tamara was gone!”
Emily explained loudly.
“There should be others who saw what happened; I simply told the truth, and you want to send us to the Knights!”
She turned and took Goway’s hand, “Take us away from here, she wants to kill all of us!”
A weight settled in Goway’s heart; Yulia’s current actions were nearly identical to when she handed the ten of them over to Tamara.
She knew all too well who it was that fought against Tamara; her gaze involuntarily fell on Yulia.
“This is none of your business, you are no longer a part of the Secret Blood Family.”
“Now, please leave here!”
Yulia stepped forward, and the crowd behind her moved along, many unaware of the true events, their looks towards Goway filled with anger and hostility.
Goway opened her mouth but did not know how to explain.
Betrayed by the family’s upper echelon and used as cannon fodder in Tamara’s operation, what was she to do knowing that death was certain?
Was she expected to sit and await her doom for the sake of family righteousness?
If not for Roger’s companionship, Goway thought she would have been dead by now.
In the aftermath, an enraged Tamara took revenge on the entire gathering place.
So, in this affair, who was truly in the wrong: Goway for resisting, or the family’s upper echelon who planned it all?
The intricate relationships and twisted outcos led Goway to believe that even if she was willing to explain, the angry clanspeople were unlikely to listen.
“Nothing else to say?”
“Very well.”
“Because of you, the Secret Blood Family has suffered great losses, and the peace we eagerly anticipated will never co.”
“You are the sinner of the entire family!”
“Now, get out!”
“I truly wish I never had a daughter like you!”
A fitting trace of sorrow crossed Yulia’s face.
Goway staggered, and then a large hand was placed on her shoulder.
“Whatever you want to do, I support you.”
Roger’s voice was low, but it carried an unwavering conviction!
