Chapter 475: Chapter 468 rging into the Painting_2 Chapter 475: Chapter 468 rging into the Painting_2 It wasn’t long before Amanda walked over with feigned elegance, a smile on her face as she nodded at Roger.

“There must be sothing wrong with this guy; this manor is where he usually lives, yet here, I have not found where he normally paints.”

“Besides, have you noticed an odd atmosphere always lingering here? It seems stately and elegant, yet it inexplicably gives one the creeps.”

“It’s like those few paintings you saw before, they had a strong sense of disparity.”

Roger nodded.

Since his and Amanda’s power attributes were different, they naturally had different perspectives when observing problems, but this did not affect the progress of the mission.

Watching the two converse quietly, Kidd, standing not far off, was unsure whether to approach or keep his distance.

Roger couldn’t help but chuckle; he waved his hand, and Kidd, as if granted a pardon, left joyously. With a Heritage Knight involved, a mission like this was a piece of cake, and Kidd didn’t need to stay by their side every mont.

Roger tried to guide Amanda to uncover other clues; he was almost certain there was a significant problem with this Louis, he just needed to figure out his thods and motives.

In the real world, there might exist madn who kill without reason.

But in the Transcendent World, those who truly lost their reason were few and far between; most possessed ticulous thought and plans and would never commit senseless acts.

“So, could soone else be standing behind this Louis?” Roger grew wary at the thought, and just then, the sound of helicopter blades ca from above the manor.

Before long, a man in a sharp pinstripe suit, handso with silver-grey hair, descended from the top floor amidst a crowd of admirers.

He appeared to be in his mid-thirties, his face exuding an arrogant pride, hands in pockets and responding tepidly to the greetings of guests along the way.

Roger and Anna sat in a corner sipping wine, conversing quietly and laughing, without paying too much attention to Louis’s arrival.

Evening had co, and the banquet officially began; after so introductions, a grand art exhibition was held in the main hall.

Each of the paintings Louis presented sold at extrely high prices, and when the auction ended, he excused himself to rest and left the hall, accompanied upstairs by several beautiful won.

Though the host was gone, the atmosphere of the party grew even more exuberant, and before long, Roger noticed that several guests who had participated and succeeded at the auction were leaving the hall one after another.

“Looks like they have their small clique’s private party.”

Roger glanced at Anna.

“Shall we take a look?”

Anna nodded, took Roger’s hand, and together they walked to the second floor after making a loop.

Turning a corner and entering a corridor, they were soon stopped by four burly n.

This ti, before Roger could act, Anna flicked her finger lightly, and the four bodyguards stood rigidly on the spot.

Simple intimidation and ntal shock were effective on ordinary people.

They continued forward but quickly ca to a dead end.

Roger activated Hunter Vision, taking in everything around him, while Anna also found the hidden door by her own thods.

“Honestly, I prefer facing designs at a Transcendent Level.”

Roger shrugged helplessly, but at that mont, he saw a flash of red in Anna’s eyes as she stepped forward, a flicker of fla passing over her fingertip.

She then plunged her hand, afla, into the wall!

Hisss!

A burst of sparks shot from sowhere within the wall, the built-in chanism was compromised, and by the ti Roger ca to his senses, a large hole had appeared in the wall not far from him.

“Is this your solution?!”

“Who cares about the thod? If it works, it’s a good one!” Anna said nonchalantly and then moved the removed iron door to the side and squeezed through the hole.

In manors such as this with their complex internal structures, it was easy to conceal hidden rooms if designed in advance.

Their entrance was clearly to such a place.

When the two reached the bottom, they saw Louis standing on a raised platform, introducing new paintings to the few who had made deals with him earlier.

Unlike the works seen in the hall, these paintings of Louis’s all emitted a bizarre aura, one that matched completely with the ones Amanda held in her hands.

On the room’s walls were screens of all sizes, displaying the behavior of other guests within the manor.

Roger observed carefully, and quickly determined the source of the images on the screens.

As an art collector, in addition to the works of his own family elders, the entire manor also housed many other painters’ works.

Without exception, hidden caras were installed on the fras of these paintings, with the corresponding screens spread out across the room of varying sizes.

Through these screens, the present guests could unabashedly enjoy the expressions and postures of strangers in front of the paintings.

It was slightly better in the hall, but in so secluded corners or separate rooms, people often witnessed things that were too graphic for words.

“So these two have been having an affair all along…”

“I knew they had hooked up.”

“And those two, pretending to be enemies on the surface… Hmph, a bunch of liars.”

The screens were disguised as picture fras, creating an illusion that made it hard not to believe the people within them were alive.

“I have always believed that every painting possesses its own soul, that the brush strokes reveal not re sceneries and figures, but a living person.”

Louis was explaining above.

“And this is what I have always been pursuing.”

He pointed to a painting beside him.

On a highway, a young boy was running into the distance with his arms wide open to embrace the sunrise.

The sun crossed over the boy’s head, and the sunlight filled the entire fra, quickly resonating an uplifting power to the others present.

Honestly, even Roger, who had no level of appreciation for art, could see the beauty in these botanical paintings.

But just then, Louis’s voice suddenly deepened.

“Who knows whether tomorrow or an accident will arrive first?”

“This running boy could be crushed to pieces by a speeding car in the next second.”

There was an inexplicable rhythm in his voice, and the expressions of the people in the room slowly beca blank, the spark in their eyes gradually drawn out, their entire attention focused on the painting in front of them.

So even displayed a hint of horror on their faces, as if they could hear the screeching halt of a car, with blood splattering and soaking the entire road.

“Strange, there’s no trace of any spell or ntal fluctuations, nor can any be perceived…”

“Even if it was a cursed item, so aura would be detectable.”

Amanda furrowed her brow, but just then, she suddenly felt her body stiffen, a breath caressing the back of her neck, “Distinguished guest, since you’ve co to the exhibition, why not co down and experience it for yourself?”

Amanda turned swiftly, her palm ablaze without hesitation and she smacked it down!

Boom!

The wall turned black with the scorching flas, but the voice vanished without a trace, and amidst her alarm, Amanda heard Roger’s confused voice, “What are you doing?”

“Soone was talking behind , it was that Louis.”

Amanda turned around.

“I didn’t hear anything.”

No sooner had he spoken, Roger suddenly noticed that Louis, who had been showing the paintings below, and the onlookers had all disappeared without a trace.

Suddenly, the floorboards beneath their feet softened like noodles, and the two started to fall uncontrollably downward.

Roger was unfazed, grabbing Amanda with one hand and activating Alder with the other, the air exploded, and they took to the sky with the kickback.

Turning around, they then realized that the entire room was lting and distorting like chocolate, decorations and furniture all mixed together to an unbelievable extent.

It was like an oil painting dissipating!
