Chapter 447: Chapter 447: Change Chapter 447: Chapter 447: Change Roger t Green in the sa room.
“Bedivere…”
Green turned his head, and when he saw Roger, his pupils constricted slightly.
“Your strength seems to…”
“It’s sowhat of an accumulation and breakthrough,” Roger said without elaborating.
Although his strength was rated very differently from others and he went to great lengths to conceal it, Green, whose power far surpassed Roger’s, still perceived sothing unusual.
“Sothing big happened not long ago.”
Green’s gaze was somber, and he relayed the events that occurred at Baron Iron Tower to Roger.
Throughout, Roger rely listened quietly, without offering any comnt until the very end when he finally exclaid,
“Gawain has actually betrayed the Knights.”
Green nodded, “According to Lancelot’s speculation, to escape ‘that thing’, he even sacrificed his own volition, choosing a form of complete freedom.”
A look of conflict crossed Roger’s face; such a choice, he admitted to himself, was not sothing he could make.
“The last ti you encountered the Headless Knight Rams, you severed his arm, and Gareth said you took the sword.”
“But not long after, the sword turned into black smoke and disappeared into thin air.”
Roger nodded, then repeated the pretext he had prepared earlier.
There was no helping it, the weapon obtained from Rams had already been devoured by the Cursed Sword.
Green listened attentively, occasionally voicing so doubts. Although Roger’s story had significant flaws, without evidence, Green presumably could not find out anything.
As the conversation neared its end, Green gave Roger a aningful look.
“Gawain is expelled from the Knights, Lancelot has taken a hit to his prestige due to command errors, you should seize the opportunity,” he said.
Roger nodded, neither agreeing nor refusing, and then left the room.
The empty room remained silent for a long ti until, after a while, Green finally asked, “He’s lying, isn’t he?”
Gaharad’s silhouette suddenly appeared from a corner, and the sunlight from the window directly passed through her, leaving mottled spots of light on the floor.
Clearly, the one present was not truly Gaharad herself.
“He must have concealed sothing.”
“And I suspect…”
Gaharad hesitated for a mont before finally speaking, “The imprisonnt in Bedivere’s soul is probably not as strong as imagined.”
“Shall I test him?”
Gaharad inquired.
“No, there’s no need,”
“You only have one chance to try, and regardless of the outco, it’s not sothing we wish to see,” Green replied.
Hearing Green’s words, a flicker of understanding passed through Gaharad’s eyes; indeed, it was just as Green said.
“Whatever the reason, as long as he hasn’t left, that alone speaks volus.”
“Issue the invitation, I want to convene a tripartite eting.”
Green’s hand clenched unnaturally. The sudden changes weakened the strength of the Round Table Knight Order, and even unwillingly, he needed the cooperation of the other two major powers to maintain the basic stability of Europe.
The 12 Round Table Knights were equivalent to 12 Third Tier Transcendents. Although the number seed large, in reality, these individuals needed to be dispersed throughout the whole of Europe.
Furthermore, due to the Black Tide incident, the personnel arrangent had beco biased, exposing the problem of staff shortages in so areas.
“If not for maintaining the secrecy of the Transcendent World, we could completely mobilize more manpower…”
Gaharad ntioned seemingly offhandedly.
Green raised his head.
“Whether or not to expose the Transcendent World to ordinary people, such issues are not for us to contemplate.”
A hint of warning already flickered in his eyes.
“Besides, I am still the leader of the Knights, what I say, you do.”
“Any questions?”
Clearly, Green was not in favor of revealing the Transcendent World to the real world.
“Yes, Mr. Green.”
Gaharad’s expression softened, and his body turned into points of light, vanishing into the air.
The sunlight was sowhat dazzling; Green shrank back into the darkness, accustod to staying behind the scenes. Lately, too many things had spiraled beyond his control.
This was not to his liking.
Undercurrents roiled darkly, could sothing big be about to happen?
After leaving Green’s estate, Roger finally took a deep breath, feeling as if he were being watched by a wild beast in the presence of the Fourth Tier Green.
Even though he couldn’t feel any significant power emanating from Green, he inexplicably felt a deep reverence.
Roger was by no ans naive enough to dismiss this awe as re psychological effect.
Perhaps this was the mystery of the Fourth Tier?
He did not rush back to Eld imdiately; he planned to visit Amanda along the way.
But before Roger could reach the Sorcerer Academy, an unexpected phone call forced him to return to Eld imdiately.
While the Gaheris brothers were away on a mission, leaving the island’s defenses vulnerable, Roger reluctantly called Amanda before heading straight back to Eld.
As the person in charge of that region, he did not need to stay at the station at all tis, his presence served more as a deterrence with his high-end combat power.
With Tristan stationed in Dublin, Roger went directly back to his estate; he was unclear whether he had shaken off any suspicions.
But from the conversation just now, it seed that Green’s exchange with him was more like a formal inquiry, perhaps so doubts lingered, but he probably wasn’t suspected to be the mysterious Mr. Mist.
Otherwise, what awaited him would have been not a verbal inquiry but the intimidation of a Fourth Tier Transcendent.
Roger stayed at the estate, not even visiting the Hunter’s Cabin during this ti, slowly healing his wounds, occasionally inspecting the Dublin station.
Two days later, a new assignnt arrived; Roger was unexpectedly transferred from Eld; after completing the necessary handover, he was dispatched to guard Poland.
This surprised Roger, as Eld was an important area where Dark Forces had been erging, and deploying four Round Table Knights for guard duty was by no ans excessive.
At this point, the entire strength of the Round Table Knight Order was compromised; apart from Lancelot, the only ones left with full combat capability were Roger and a few others.
Among them, Roger had the strongest combat strength, so his departure at this ti, was it due to so of Green’s speculations?
By this ti, Gaheris had also returned from his mission to Eld, and only then did Roger learn that the brothers had not gone on any so-called mission at all. They had simply been implicated due to issues around Gawain and forced to undergo an investigation.
The investigators were two leaders from the Sorcerer’s Assembly.
The Brotherhood’s Alessandro and the Sorority’s Angela.
Although the brothers were very close to Gawain, they clearly had no knowledge of the changes in him and passed the investigation with ease.
They too were transferred away from Eld, and the one who ca to guard Eld turned out to be one of the leaders of the Nature Association.
The Fourth Tier Druid, Tamara!
Sothing special must have happened; otherwise, a Fourth Tier Transcendent would not be so easily mobilized.
Moreover, the two major forces were aggressively advancing, yet Roger felt little sense of cooperation among them.
It seed more like a struggle for so form of control.
During the wait for the handover, Roger finally had the ti to sort through the spoils of the last battle.
Not to ntion the Pale Blood, he had managed to trick… a Silver Manuscript away from the Paladin.
