Chapter 297: Chapter 297: SCP Foundation? Chapter 297: Chapter 297: SCP Foundation? “Cursed Item.”

Goway reached for the black box in Roger’s hand, glanced at Jansen lying to the side, and said, “Foolish fellow, an ordinary person needs to pay a heavy price to use a Cursed Item.”

“Blood, life, soul, or beco a servant to fate.”

Goway then briefly explained the basic use of the black box to Roger.

“Interested in giving it a try?”

Roger shook his head.

“There must be many Cursed Lands in Arnia,” Goway said as she extended her index finger and lightly tapped the air a few tis, seemingly creating a barrier in the air.

“Let’s go sowhere else to talk.”

Carrying the black box, Goway walked past people who seed not to see the box in her hand.

“Cursed Land is the invasion and projection of other worlds into the real world. In Arnia, the official control over Cursed Lands is very strict.”

“However, in other places, like Eld, there are many special regions.”

“In these regions, often, strange things are born.”

“Like a black box, a painting, a house, or just an ordinary pocket watch.”

“And these are what are known as Cursed Items.”

“These items contain bizarre rules, and they usually possess magical abilities completely different from reality.”

“So can even make their owners stronger!”

“So they’re a kind of Magical Item?”

Roger interjected.

Goway nodded.

“There are many strange folk legends on the European continent, a harp with magic, peculiar Crystal Shoes, wondrous capes, these are Cursed Items ford under special conditions.”

“Just like…”

As she spoke, Goway took off a necklace she was wearing around her neck.

Suddenly, Roger was dazed, and when he ca to, he found the beautiful woman who had been standing before him had vanished.

In her place was a petite girl with a slight bulge in her chest — tender and childlike.

Or rather, a loli.

Roger’s eyes widened.

He finally understood where the mismatch he had sensed earlier in Goway’s deanor ca from.

A loli dressed as a mature woman…

The abrupt change in style made Roger smile.

“Little sister, this current look suits your temperant better,” he quipped.

Goway glared at Roger, her chubby cheeks only added to her cuteness.

“Disgusting!”

She muttered under her breath before putting the necklace back on.

Roger blinked, feeling rather wronged—he was sure he hadn’t done anything…

“Who’s your sister?”

Goway huffed, her expression once again turning cold.

“I’m 72 years old this year, young man. Do you think it’s appropriate to call your sister?”

“72 years old?”

Roger scrutinized Goway.

“I am a Secret Blood Witch. Our race lives much longer than humans do,” she explained, as if reading Roger’s thoughts.

“You’re not human?”

Roger was a bit curious.

“In Eld, there are many Non-Human Races like .”

“Besides humans, many other races live in the vast forests, so of which even change their form and blend into urban life.”

“I’ve said it before,”

Goway proudly lifted her chin.

“Only the air of Eld is truly free.”

“Humans live together with other species?” Roger found Goway’s description of life intriguing.

“Arnia’s people always have an air of arrogance, believing they are the center of the world and often ddling in other countries’ affairs,”

Goway said with disdain.

“But in reality, each country has its own attitude towards this matter.”

“You’ve been holed up in one place for too long, you really should co out and see for yourself.”

The conversation took a turn, and Goway began to educate Roger.

Normally, this wouldn’t have been a noteworthy scene, but recalling Goway’s loli deanor from earlier, Roger had to suppress a chuckle.

This girl, with her mature and sophisticated appearance, put on a cold front, but after spending so ti with her, Roger realized she wasn’t as mature as she appeared.

Her ntality was closer to that of a young girl.

“Don’t different races living together cause any conflicts?” Roger asked, curious.

“In Eld, there are official organizations specifically dealing with these matters. The customs of Eld are simple, and those living there belong to peace-loving races.”

“Although unavoidable frictions occur, nothing major has happened over the years.”

“Aside from such organizations, in Eld, there are also Transcendents who assist the officials in investigating and confiscating Cursed Items.”

“We call ourselves Treasure Hunters.”

We, Roger noted Goway’s use of the term to include herself.

“Cursed Items, Treasure Hunters…”

After a mont of thought, Roger muttered, “Sounds a bit like the SCP Foundation, doesn’t it?”

“SCP?”

“What’s that?” Goway asked, looking puzzled.

Roger laughed, “It’s a civilian organization from my hotown.”

Roger laughed it off.

“Your hotown, where are you from?”

“I co from the north, from a beautiful place called Rivia…”

“The people there are simple and honest,”

Roger blurted out without thinking.

“The north? A place even farther north than Eld?”

“Could it be Iceland?” Goway wondered, puzzled.

However, Roger still couldn’t wrap his head around it, “Does Eld’s official organization really let the Cursed Land encroach upon reality unchecked?”

Roger thought back to the events that had taken place in New Moon City.

Every Cursed Land he had encountered in Bordeaux had left a deep impression on him.

And without exception, each one was ho to monsters.

He had a hard ti imagining what the Eld Goway spoke of would be like.

“I don’t know if you’ve heard of open territories; in those areas, reality and the Cursed Lands rge together, sharing common rules.”

“Not all the creatures there are monsters,” Goway replied.

“You need to understand one thing: each Cursed Land has its own set of rules, but within a larger region, the Cursed Lands that invade reality tend to have the sa tendencies.”

“Wicked and bizarre creatures of Arnia,”

“The myriad Non-Human Races of Eld,”

Goway glanced at Roger, “You don’t really believe that the divisions of the seven continents were arbitrarily determined by geographical regions, do you?”

“You an…”

Upon hearing Goway’s words, sothing clicked in Roger’s mind, “Does each continent correspond to a certain type of Cursed Land?”

Goway nodded, “Although there’s no reliable evidence yet, more and more people are coming to believe this.”

“We prefer to call the seven continents the Seven Kingdoms. So believe that these hidden Cursed Lands represent vast worlds, special Transcendent Kingdoms!”

Hearing this, Roger let out a chuckle.

“Co clean, Miss Goway, are you human or what they call a Secret Blood Witch, and are you really 72 years old?”

Goway’s eyes widened.

“How did you know?”

“Alright, I am indeed human, just with a bit of Secret Blood Witch lineage. I said that to test your attitude toward Non-Human Races,” she confessed, watching Roger.

“I have a task that requires the help of a Demon Hunter,” she said.
