Chapter 166: Chapter 166: Spinal Cord (Congratulations to book friend “Ears Too Big Attract Wind” for becoming the first alliance leader of this book!) Chapter 166: Chapter 166: Spinal Cord (Congratulations to book friend “Ears Too Big Attract Wind” for becoming the first alliance leader of this book!) The violent impact and the bulging wind it created even briefly cleared a path through the mist as it whisked past him.

Roger quietly lowered his body.

Had he hesitated for even a mont just now, he would have been crushed into pulp by the monster before him.

By this ti, the mist had completely enveloped the area, severely restricting normal visibility; the Demon Bull had simply launched its attack based on the feedback from the shockwave.

Having dodged the first wave of attacks, Roger just needed to be a bit more cautious to avoid danger safely.

He retreated quietly, inching towards the door of the cottage.

Not far ahead of him, the Demon Bull was flailing its fists madly, followed by a deep inhalation and a furious roar straight ahead.

In the mist, its attack seed to have hit sothing, and at the sa ti, Roger quietly reached the door.

“Finally…”

Bang!

From the distant mist, a series of heavy footsteps could be heard, deep and powerful, causing the ground itself to tremble.

His scalp tingling, Roger imdiately thought of the terrifying creature that could cause such a commotion.

Roar!

The Demon Bull’s shockwave cleared a section of the area, but the next second, a dark shadow flashed through the deep fog.

Boom!

The massive body of the Demon Bull was struck head-on as if hit by a train, letting out a scream as it was flung nearly 30 ters away!

Crackling!

Muscles and bones twisted into a ss.

Roger hid behind the door, not even daring to step out for a closer look.

Splat!

Sothing seed to be completely squashed underfoot as the Demon Bull’s screams stopped abruptly, and the heavy footsteps gradually receded.

It took a very long ti before Roger finally let out a long breath, wiping the sweat from his forehead that was already soaked with cold sweat.

What exactly is this world? What are these bizarre things?

The world shrouded in mist is utterly different from its normal state.

Roger even suspected that this space in the mist had been invaded by another world.

He had finally cleared up a bit of the mystery of Narcissus Street, albeit stumbling into so danger, it ended up being a close call.

With the World Fog enveloping the outside, Roger had an idea. He listened for a mont, then with sword in hand, he stepped back into the mist.

That Demon Bull…

Even in death, if its belongings couldn’t be claid as spoils of war, its entire body was still a treasure trove. Even if not useful now, there would definitely co a ti when they would be!

With this thought, his footsteps involuntarily quickened.

The ground was covered with blood, the thick plasma even subrging the tops of his shoes. Who knows how many Ghouls the Demon Bull had killed just now.

Reaching the limit of his range of movent, Roger saw the completely crushed corpse of the Demon Bull in the distance.

The being that had passed by had squashed it as easily as stepping on an ant. Roger looked up into the depths of the mist. If a Demon Bull could be dispatched so easily, what about humans like himself?

Life really is as fragile as that of an insect’s.

Standing at the edge of his range of movent, he could clearly see the carcass of the Demon Bull, hardly an intact spot was left on its body.

After so thought, Roger felt it necessary to get so tools from reality to collect the distant corpse.

Although he couldn’t cross this invisible barrier himself, it didn’t an other things couldn’t.

Just as Roger was about to make a move, the mashed corps suddenly bulged with a aty lump.

With a pop, the lump burst open, and a creature with 8 legs, resembling a spider, sprang from the carcass.

“What is this thing?”

The monster had four pairs of black legs on either side of its body, sharp like blades. Its torso was elongated and spindle-shaped, with no discernible organs.

“This thing seems to be made from the ribcage of that Demon Bull.”

“No, that’s not right, it’s much smaller than that guy’s ribcage. Did it re-form from the flesh and blood?”

Sensing the presence of living beings, the monster sprung forward with incredible speed, lunging toward Roger.

“This thing was completely crushed, and yet it has a thod akin to Rebirth?”

Roger was secretly alard while swiftly retreating backwards, throwing out the Flying Daggers he carried with him as he moved.

Clang!

The spider-like creature nimbly dodged Roger’s Flying Dagger. He was sowhat relieved, realizing that although the creature was fast, it didn’t seem to possess great strength.

After several probing attempts, Roger carefully kept retreating, deliberately leading the creature toward the door.

He decided to try his luck, as sothing that could regenerate from the Demon Bull might not seem strong now but could have excellent potential. He was still lacking several ingredients for his Green Grass Potion.

He just needed to be cautious of the creature’s thod of attack.

The continuous probing infuriated the monster. It compressed its spindle-shaped body before suddenly ejecting a spray of white mucus!

“How disgusting,”

Roger frowned, quickly evading the attack. The ground behind him corroded, creating a large hole.

With light and quick footwork, Roger closed the distance between them. The creature’s eight legs, sharp as blades, clashed with Roger’s Steel Sword, producing a series of clashing sounds.

The force transmitted from the opponent delighted Roger, spurring him to quicken his pace of attack, his successive sword techniques flooding over the creature like a tide.

“Light Dance!”

With the final, charged sword strike, the red fibers on his right hand appeared again. This ti, Roger noticed a difference.

The gathering speed of his strength was faster, the burst of power stronger, and it seed his attack contained sothing more.

Thud!

The sharp weapon hacked into the monster’s spindle-shaped body. Although Roger couldn’t hear any screams, his attack had evidently dealt the creature a severe blow!

Having landed a successful hit, Roger didn’t advance but retreated instead, evading the creature’s attack before quickly creating distance, running straight to the doorway of the cabin.

As expected, in the next mont, the grievously wounded creature attacked frenziedly. It completely abandoned defense, swinging its eight limbs like blades.

Roger simply dodged from a distance, not approaching, while throwing all his Flying Daggers at once.

Once the creature’s strength waned, he charged again.

Then, Flash Strike!

Thud!

The sword blade entered through the sa wound, nearly splitting the monster’s spindle-shaped body in two. The creature, now on the brink of death, could no longer stand firmly and collapsed, swaying and falling to the ground.

Remaining cautious and maintaining a distance, this was a creature he had never encountered before. Born from that terrifying entity, it was always best to exercise caution.

Only when the body on the other side ceased all movent did Roger approach. But just then, a mass of white, viscous substance burst forth from the split-open corpse.

Roger dodged while swinging his Steel Sword.

He thwarted the creature’s last assault.

Charging forward, the Steel Sword pierced the monster’s body.

After confirming the creature’s death, Roger began to check his loot.

The first thing he noticed was the short section of black spine within the remnants of the creature’s hamr-like torso.

The bone was fractured, oozing a bit of liquid.

“Spinal fluid?”

Roger’s heart leaped with joy.
