Chapter 127: Chapter 127 The Betraying Exorcist

“This should be the place.”

Although Baytown wasn’t particularly large, its streets were especially nurous. After quite a bit of circling, they finally arrived at their destination.

Moor stopped the car and glanced at the residence across the street, then she looked at Taylor sitting in the passenger seat.

“What’s the matter?”

“Are you that unstable?”

Taylor shook his head, “I don’t know, it was a bit odd just now, so kind of urge suddenly surged in my heart, making want to tear that lad to pieces and devour him!”

“Heh heh.”

Moor didn’t seem to care.

“A handso young man, though not old, exudes a calm deanor, much stronger than that guy from this morning.”

“Let’s go, we should enter.”

Crossing the road, they ca to the iron gate of a large house. Taylor revealed his identity, and soon the iron gate opened, letting them in.

However, they didn’t notice that on the hillside behind the mansion, a figure hidden in the forest was quietly observing everything through the gaps in the leaves.

“They really are here to find Miss Huda.”

Roger muttered softly to himself.

Just now, when providing directions, he deliberately made them take a long detour around the town, so he had ti to take a shortcut and get here as quickly as possible.

Roger hadn’t found anything peculiar about these two strangers, but his mind subconsciously gave him a warning sign.

Of course, the most important reason was his suspicion about his own identity; the words Ivy said before she died made him feel that the Three Holy Spirits definitely wouldn’t let go of the so-called Saint Heir that easily.

And he was very likely to beco their target.

Roger had originally planned to leave this place and find sowhere to hide, but then he reconsidered and abandoned the idea.

Compared to an entirely unfamiliar place, he was more familiar with Baytown. If he went sowhere completely new, not to ntion how to conceal his tracks,

the unfamiliar environnt could very likely plunge him

into even more troubleso danger.

After all, the organization of the Three Holy Spirits isn’t only present in Bordeaux City.

After pondering it over, Roger decided to stay but reduced his aimless wandering around town and beca extra vigilant toward unfamiliar faces.

……

Click-clack!

Moor’s high heels clacked crisply on the wooden floor as she entered. In the center of the hall, an old woman sat at the head, her hair gray and her face etched with the marks of ti.

“Is there anything you need my cooperation with?”

The old woman didn’t stand up, her expression was calm, but there was a strange, aloof look in her eyes.

Having learned the circumstances from Taylor, Moor quickly understood the situation. She didn’t respond to the old woman’s question but leisurely strolled around the room instead.

The walls of the hall were adorned with many portraits of individuals, showing that this family had a long history.

“Miss Huda…”

Moor suddenly spoke.

“I’m really curious, what made you give up the identity of an Exorcist and instead seek refuge with the Three Holy Spirits?”

The old woman sitting at the head wasn’t just anybody, she was the female mayor who had initially sought Henrik’s help the first ti he ca to Baytown.

Huda!

If Roger were here, connecting Huda to the Three Holy Spirits, he could instantly figure out who was the real mastermind behind Sherman’s murder!

“Does your question have anything to do with today’s matter?”

Huda’s cheeks twitched, as if insulted, and it was apparent that this decision had not been an easy one for her.

Abandoning nearly a century of her family’s honor and joining a force she originally despised and combated, once she made that step, there was no turning back.

“Not at all.”

Moor smiled and sat down beside Huda. After this delay, the resistance emanating from Huda had clearly subsided a lot.

Moor nodded and briefly recounted the situation, “In any case, I hope you can help us break through the interference there.”

“That shouldn’t be too difficult for an Exorcist, right?”

Huda hesitated for a mont, “I can, but it’s not convenient right now, we have to wait until nightfall.”

Moor did not insist, as there was still ti. She planned to inquire about other matters because her visit was not solely about finding the Saint Heir.

As Huda’s family had been in Baytown for many years, and she herself was an Exorcist, she naturally knew a lot of information.

“Based on what you said, the most likely candidate would be a woman nad Ivy who had contact with Sherman not long ago.”

“Originally, Sherman was about to start the Transformation Ceremony for his son when that woman showed up, hoping Sherman could help her find sothing.”

“Sherman thought she was a Sacred Body level powerhouse and got other ideas in his head.”

“Heh… That fool.”

Huda scoffed.

“So where did this Ivy go?” Moor continued to inquire.

“She ran away, I guess. I killed Sherman and then misled the police investigation. She feared her identity would be exposed, so she skipped town.”

“It seems like she never ca back.”

Huda spoke calmly.

“You killed one of your own?”

“Sherman was an idiot. He couldn’t handle a small matter and made a big fuss, drawing the attention of the Hunters Guild.”

“I had no choice; I had to kill him.”

Moor nodded, seemingly agreeing with Huda’s actions.

Moor was highly suspicious by nature, and doubts about Huda’s motives and loyalty began to surface.

However, Taylor had told her that Huda originally had several talented juniors in her family, but due to a mistake by the Hunters Guild, her family mbers were killed.

And that was what caused Huda to harbor resentnt and defect to the Three Holy Spirits, using their influence to kill those Demonic Hunters with her own sches.

Now, she naturally wasn’t loyal to the Three Holy Spirits, but her hatred for the Hunters Guild was bone-deep.

It would be hard for anyone to feel otherwise; after nearly a hundred years of devoted service, to have one’s younger family mbers killed by the force one was loyal to was unthinkable for an elder.

For an old person, this was utterly unacceptable.

The wait was long, and there was still so ti until dusk. Since the cooldown period of the item in hand had ended, Moor took out the shell-shaped item and checked it once more.

But this ti, the result she detected made her face change color.

“What’s wrong?”

Taylor asked.

“The sensing location has moved, if it’s not the error caused by the energy chaos…”

Moor suddenly looked up, “Then that thing is near us!”

She quickly stood up, adjusting the item in her hand, her gaze sweeping over Huda with a hint of suspicion.

“Does she have anything to do with it?”

But then it seed she had confird the direction, and with a spring in her step, she dashed out of the room.

“What are you doing?”

“That thing is nearby, I must find it!”

As Moor spoke, she rushed out like a gust of wind.

“Wait a mont, the sun hasn’t set yet, we will definitely attract other people’s attention if we go out now!”

Huda said sowhat angrily. She appeared to be elderly but moved with surprising agility, catching up to Moor in just a few steps and arriving at the manor’s backyard.

anwhile, Roger, who was standing on the hill behind the manor, slightly narrowed his eyes and carefully concealed himself.
