"But he is already dead..."

A figure struggled out from the wall and then fell to the ground.

He slowly lifted his head, revealing a handso and discontented face.

"Rember, Patrick, so secrets must be buried deep in your heart forever, not to be known by anyone. You are Emil’s son, and I am your uncle."

"Even if he is dead, that fact won’t change." Ares slowly walked over to Patrick, reaching out to gently pat his shoulder.

Patrick’s body trembled slightly. He raised his head to look straight at the man who, by blood, was his father.

"I thought soday I could call you that publicly."

"Perhaps that day will co, but not now."

"My child, I know Emil didn’t like you because your identity bore many accusations, but that is not your fault."

"I will help you regain your rightful position."

Ares helped Patrick up.

"That day isn’t far off. Once I can inherit Emil’s position and beco one of the Dragon Envoys, I will have the power to change the throne’s successor."

For the prosperity of the entire race, within the Silver Dragon Clan, the successor to the throne is not appointed by the Dragon King but is determined by the Dragon Envoys who are completely unrelated to the clan’s lineage.

Within the clan, those eligible to inherit the Dragon Envoy identity are called Dragon Saints. The selection criteria are extrely strict, with strength being just one aspect, and more emphasis on character and perspective.

Because this represents the Silver Dragon Clan’s external connection with the Dragon Court, it can be said that the existence of the Dragon Saint is the key to the prosperity of the entire race.

Confirming this identity not only requires the recognition and recomndation of the entire clan but also the approval of other Dragon Envoys when inheriting the identity.

Many years ago, Ares defeated all competitors and obtained this singular qualification.

Unfortunately, when he attended the first Dragon Envoy eting, he encountered opposition from other Dragon Envoys, missing out on this honored identity.

Subsequently, Emil replaced him, becoming this generation’s Dragon Envoy, while he beca that generation’s king.

Because it does not involve internal power struggles within the clan, the status of the Dragon Saint is relatively transcendent and independent, thus they have the qualification to appoint the successor to the throne.

But according to tradition, their offspring, no matter how outstanding, cannot beco the primary successor.

However, if one wishes to vie for the next Dragon Saint position, this limitation no longer applies.

The Dragon King is responsible for the internal developnt and expansion of the race.

The Dragon Saint fights externally, building the bridge connecting with the Dragon Court and simultaneously holds the right to appoint the successor.

Under this positive developnt, the Silver Dragon Clan has been inherited for an unknowable duration, being one of the longest-standing races across the Plane.

"Kenneth’s Companion Blood hasn’t solidified, which ans he luckily survived, only drifting in an unknown world."

"In the eyes of outsiders, he is considered my son, isn’t he?"

"Even as a king, I should show a bit of sadness, right?"

Ares chuckled softly.

"If they find Kenneth, then according to Silver Dragon Clan tradition, when I beco a Dragon Envoy, he would automatically be crowned as king."

"I will not allow this scene to happen. Rest assured, Patrick, it won’t be long before I beco a Dragon Envoy, and then I will have the qualification to depose Kenneth’s identity, re-establishing you as my successor."

"After all, nominally you are Emil’s son, because of this reason, those loyal to Emil would definitely be delighted to see you ascend to the throne."

"Haha."

Ares’s cold smile echoed in the grand hall.

"But... father."

Patrick spoke up.

"After all, nominally I am Emil’s son. According to tradition, the offspring of the Dragon Saint cannot beco the successor to the throne."

"No, you are mistaken."

Ares slowly began to speak.

"According to the Silver Dragon Codex, a Dragon Saint cannot designate their offspring as a successor. It’s a designation, not a complete restriction."

"In fact, within the history of the clan, there are indeed similar examples to be found."

"Emil is now dead, and the designated successor to the throne was Kenneth, not you."

"When I beco the Dragon Saint and take over the Dragon Envoy position, I will use Kenneth’s identity as an excuse according to the Silver Dragon Codex, to depose his right of succession."

"After all, he is my nominal son, my only son."

"At that ti, many will likely admire my openness and fairness as I issue a direct statent, designating you as the successor to the throne."

"I suppose there won’t be anyone opposing."

Ares smiled.

"It should be an outco pleasing to all— the forr Dragon Saint unexpectedly perished, and the Dragon Envoy position was succeeded by , identity transford, and I appoint Emil’s nominal son, which is you, Patrick, to inherit the throne."

"You’ve lost your beloved father, the clan lost a great Saint, but ultimately the honor continues, and you will inherit Emil’s glory, ascending the throne amid everyone’s expectations!"

Patrick’s breath beca rapid, and a flush appeared on his face. Despite his less impressive talents, compared to becoming the so-called Dragon Saint, he is more eager to control the entire Silver Dragon Clan in his youth.

After all, the world influenced by their clan’s developnt until now is not few. He possesses a young, strong physique, a noble identity, and vast territory.
