Brooke waited all night into the next morning for Thane to return. However, she didn’t expect him to co back with the man from earlier who had choked her out, and introduce him as his younger brother.

"This is the other Grayson son. You do not need to care about rembering his na, just know that from today onwards he’ll be acting as a temporary manager for you." Thane announced, at the dining table.

Brooke blinked twice, "Your brother?" She gasped, and imdiately started to straightened her dress under the table. She turned to Thane, "I never knew you had a brother."

"It’s not important." He replied.

She stole a glance at Matthew, ’Now that I really look at him, they do look similar, but how co he doesn’t look as ferocious as he did yesterday?’ she wondered, noticing the tad look in his eye.

Matthew caught her staring at him and parted his lips to say sothing, but quickly shut himself up when his older brother shot him a glance.

"Just know that for the period he’s around, he will handle all your scheduling for rehearsals and manage your public relations as well as be the spokesperson between you and talent agencies. So feel free to make good use of him." He announced, while slicing into his pancake.

Brooke nervously scratched the side of her face, "Is it okay to talk about him like this right to his face? And also is that even okay?" She looked at Matthew, checking for his reaction, but he couldn’t even hold her stare

Matthew inwardly scoffed, ’What the hell? Why is she acting like a saint? Is this the sa vile woman from last night?’ he rested his hand on the bite mark from Brooke.

"I’ve already filled him in on the current situation. Later today you will be accompanied by him to a script reading." Thane answered.

Brooke sighed, "You already found out I got the part?" Her expression dimd, she had wanted to tell him herself and possibly celebrate with him.

Thane scratched the back of his neck, nervous, "Gilbert ntioned it to last night." He confessed slowly.

"Oh," her tone dropped. "I hope I didn’t disappoint your expectations. Especially with the setbacks I’ve caused-" She was saying, but Thane cut her off by reaching for her hand and gently rubbing his thumb against the back of her palm.

Matthew’s jaw dropped to the table. He alternated his stare from Brooke to his older brother, who had flattened his lips into a weak smile.

"I’m the one who disappointed you. Had I been around, I would’ve been with you the entire ti. I’m sorry-"

"No, No, I’m the one sorry. I should’ve been more observant-"

"Brooke you don’t need to cover up, it was my fault-"

"I’m not covering up-"

Matthew cluelessly watched the two go at it, he didn’t know if he was watching his brother speak or if he was witnessing a showdown between two salespeople trying to sell their products.

Thankfully, Hannah ca in, to take Brooke outside for her physical therapy.

"Miss Brooke, the dical team is all set up. We’re ready whenever you are." Hannah announced.

Brooke withdrew her hand first, "Mr Grayson, I’ll be going first. If there’s anything I can do for you, don’t hesitate to call ." She said.

"I’m fine Brooke. And don’t worry, I won’t overwork myself anymore." He smiled gently, then watched her leave the room. The second she left, the warm look in his eye vanished and was replaced with his usual stoicism.

"Ahem," Matthew dry coughed, stealing his brother’s attention. "It seems sister-in-law doesn’t know about your condition. For how much longer will you hide it from her?"

"I don’t recall giving you the permission to speak about her. Did I?" He asked, picking up his fork.

A cold shiver ran up Matthew’s spine. "Brother, I was only looking out for you, I might not be a relationship expert, but aren’t bonds ford on lies destined to break..." he was saying, but shut himself up when Thane tightened his grip on his knife.

He bowed his head and focused on the breakfast before him.

Thane had already forced the son of a multi billionaire into becoming a no na actress’ manager, heaven knows what he would do if he ran his mouth any more.

"Tell what’s happening at the main house. I know you weren’t sent here to spy in vain. Sothing must’ve happened." Thane pointed out, changing the topic.

Matthew nodded, his deanor dampened as he retold what was currently happening.

"Our cousin, William, is on the move again. He’s just announced that he’s getting married, currying favor with grandfather. I’m afraid your spot as the favourite grandkid is in jeopardy." Matthew explained.

He went on, "And the woman he’s marrying is the granddaughter of one of grandfather’s closest friends, the slimy bastard is trying to get the will rewritten."

Thane scoffed, "That was it?" He found his family’s desperation funny.

"Mother is worried that you might be into n, seeing as you’ve rejected all the won she tried getting you to et. It ca as a shock to her after you not only stood up your last blind date but announced you were leaving the country to expand your business." He recalled.

"Matthew, I don’t care what happens to our family, if the old man so pleases he can have my inheritance striped of . Unlike you brother, I have already established myself and can live quite well without old money." Thane said, speaking of his great strides in biotechnology.

Matthew frowned and balled his fists. "Yes, I’m well aware that not all of us are billionaires all on our own. But still, think of the reputation, father would be devastated if you lost the wealth by being stubborn. Just try and place your family first-" he was saying, but Thane cut him off with a quiet laughter.

"The family who isolated in another country the mont they found out about my terminal disease? Or the family who imdiately birthed a precautionary heir to keep them in the running for an inheritance?" He couldn’t help but laugh, recalling his fallacy of a childhood.

"Thane that is beyond my control-" Matthew’s words were cut short when Thane got up and left the dining table, but not without leaving a sound warning.

"If a single scratch so much as surfaces on her body, I will abandon all my morality and forget you are my blood relative." Thane threatened Matthew, then walked out on breakfast.

It wasn’t until his brother left that Matthew released the breath he held so tightly.

"That lunatic." He whimpered under his shaky breaths.

It wasn’t the fact that his brother had just threatened to kill him that scared Matthew, but it was the way Thane had sohow managed to fool Brooke into believing he was so kind hearted man.

When everyone in the Grayson family knew him as the ’Black Sheep’ and favorite grandson.

However, he wasn’t fully downcast, not now that he knew that his brother had a weakness, the weakness he planned to take full advantage of.

"Miss Brooke, you have to get back at that bastard for hurting you! Master Grayson is being too lenient by making him just your manager. If I were you, I would’ve asked for at least three of his fingers." Hannah groaned as she helped to apply makeup on Brooke’s neck to conceal the marks.

Brooke sighed, "That’s illegal Hannah."

"Not in my books." She retorted sharply.

Broke rolled her eyes, "And besides, he’s Mr Grayson’s younger brother, I can’t really do anything to him. I’m already glad Mr Grayson stood up for , I don’t want to complicate things."

She went on, "I don’t want to strain the relationship between him and yet another person in his life." She said, referring to the situation with Tara.

"Miss Brooke that was out of your control and to be fair that woman was insufferable. It’s a good thing we’re rid of her." Hannah exclaid.

"And the thing with that bastard isn’t your fault either. He’s just an obnoxious piece of crap, a guy like him would need so slaps to reset his brain. That’s if he even has one to begin with." She went on, her tone rising with aggravation.

Brooke stole a glance at Hannah through the mirror and could see she was fuming with rage. "Hannah, I can’t help but think that sothing happened between you two last night. Please tell , did he do sothing to you too?" She leveled her gaze on Hannah’s neck, to see if she was wearing makeup also.

But oddly enough, Hannah raised her hand and covered her lips, her eyes burning with anger, as though she had just recalled sothing very distasteful.

"He’s just a bastard. And I don’t see how soone like him could be related to our caring Master Grayson." She spat out, making Brooke deeply worried over what could’ve transpired between Hannah and Matthew.
