After she said that, Brooke walked away to the bathroom, to make a call to the driver and have him co and pick her up. On her way out, she was t by Damien, who seed to have sothing to say.

"Do you need sothing?" She asked, pushing her hair back.

Damien averted his eyes from her exposed shoulder, just like most of the n at the event, he had had his gaze on Brooke right from the mont she walked in.

"Last night at the hotel. Why did you go and see him?" Damien asked, recalling yesterday’s incident.

Brooke rolled her tongue around her mouth. She didn’t expect him to outright co out and ask her. "It’s not sothing I think I have to explain to you, now is it?"

Her response left him stunned. "What would you have done if it wasn’t but soone else who-"

She cut him off. "I appreciate you keeping quiet about what you saw, but I will not be answering any more of your questions." She said then turned to leave.

"And about your proposal last night," she stopped, looking over her shoulder, "I’ll have to decline. I wouldn’t want to do anything that’d upset my husband." She told him before finally leaving.

Back at the event hall, Julian was in the middle of trying to convince Cassie that it was ti for her to leave.

"The stench of alcohol isn’t good for the baby, let’s leave, so you can get so rest." He cooed, but Cassie shook her head.

She stole glances at Brooke’s empty table, "Where did that woman go?" She hissed, refusing to leave without seeing her.

"Cassie-"

Cassie’s attention was piqued the mont Brooke returned to her table. She balled her fists, recalling the threat Brooke had made to her. She resolved not to leave this event without having Brooke on her knees, begging for forgiveness.

However, Cassie got a shock when Brooke signalled so security n, and approached Cassie. Cassie and Julian exchanged confused glances, wondering why she suddenly ca over.

Eyeing the security guards, Julian asked, "Is there a problem here?"

Brooke ignored his question, she turned to Cassie, "Where is it?" She demanded harshly.

Cassie forced a polite smile, "What do you an?" She managed to respond, her fists balled tightly.

In a sultry tone, she asked, "Oh? How co you’re so good at acting dumb? Does it co naturally or..." she laughed, leaving her sentence hanging.

So of the guests who noticed the scene turned their attention towards what was happening, so even went as far as to take out their phones to record.

Cassie frowned, "What is it that you want?"

"My bag is missing." Brooke responded.

Cassie scoffed, "Why the hell would I have anything to do with that?!"

"You were the only one at my table when I left, and now that I’m back both you and my bag were gone." Brooke inford her.

"So what? Are you accusing of stealing?!" She raised her tone.

"Cassie, calm down." Julian said, rubbing her shoulder. She was tempted to slap his hand away, but at the sa ti she knew she had to keep her calm.

There were people watching, she was certain Brooke wanted her to act out and humiliate her.

In a softer tone, Cassie replied, "If you need help looking for your bag, I can offer my assistance-"

Brooke cut her off. "I’ve never heard of the thief helping the owner look for their belonging before. Cassie, don’t you think it’s easier to cough up my bag, I know you had your eye on it."

So of the guests started to whisper loudly amongst themselves.

-"What the hell? Isn’t that Brooke getting too cocky?"

-"She’s really just like she was in the movie."

-"Cassie is pregnant no less! Such a heartless woman!"

"Listen, you should stop this, Cassie wouldn’t steal. Let’s all leave, before any of this blows up." Julian said, standing in front of Cassie.

Brooke kept a straight face. "Will you keep hiding behind your father? Isn’t that the sa thing you were doing with Luther? Tell Cassie, will you abandon this one once you’ve grown tired of him?" She teased.

Cassie’s eyes went wide, "How dare you talk about my father that way?!" She raised her voice.

Brooke rolled her eyes, "All this would’ve been avoided if you just handed my bag. Who knows, if I’m not careful you could make a replica and claim it’s yours." She claid.

Cassie’s lip twitched, "What?"

She widened her eyes in fake shock, "Sorry, did I hit a sore spot? It’s just..." she cracked a sinister smile, "You don’t have the best reputation when it cos to bags now do you? Just a few months ago, weren’t you brandishing a fake bag on your live stream?"

"You bitch-"

Julian grabbed Cassie by the arm, "I’m sorry, but I think we’ve overstayed our welco. We’ll be taking our leave." He said, gently tugging at Cassie to leave.

"I am not joking about finding my bag! Until the security have thoroughly checked, you both can’t leave." Brooke insisted.

A frown painted Julian’s face, "Is that how you treat your guests?"

She glared at him, "Isn’t your daughter like this because you’re spoiling her rotten? I’m disappointed in you, Mr Reginald. At this rate you’re no different from Luther-"

"Hey! That’s enough! I can endure you insulting , but not my father!" Cassie all of a sudden announced.

She turned to the security, "If you want to, search ! I don’t care, but don’t cross the line, Brooke!" She shouted.

The rest of the guests all sided with Cassie. To them, a minor character like Brooke had no right to mouth off to soone like Cassie. Had the woman ran mad or sothing?

Brooke flicked her hair back, "Oh? You should’ve agreed to the search in the first place, rather than making all that noise you were doing." She turned to the security, "You can search them, and make sure you don’t miss anything-" Brooke was saying, only for a staff mber to walk up to her.

"Miss Brooke, your driver’s outside waiting for you. He’s already taken your belongings and carefully placed them in the car." The staff mber announced, throwing water over the heated tension...
