*Filming Location*

The next day, everyone on set was on edge, they had heard about the eting held yesterday concerning Brooke, but no announcent had been made.

On that note, everyone carried on their business, acting as though the incident never happened.

Everyone but one person...

"Why isn’t anyone answering ?" Sadie frowned, her eyes glued to her screen. She stared at the long list of missed calls, to both Hannah and Brooke.

She bit on her thumb, "If I knew where she lived I would’ve paid her a visit-"

The door to her hotel room opened up, Sadie turned her phone off then diverted her attention to the staff mbers inside.

"Yes, can I help you?" Her eyes fell to the dry cleaned clothes they had in each hand.

"Miss Sadie, we just got your anded costus from the dry cleaners. Where should we put them?" The staff mber responded.

Sadie sighed, "Just leave them on the bed."

"Yes ma’am." After carefully placing them on the bed, Sadie had them sent out of her hotel room.

On their way out, one of the staff leaned in close and asked the other, "Isn’t it strange that Miss Sadie keeps getting her costu anded? You’d think she’d be more conscious during this period."

Her colleague nodded, "Maybe the stress is affecting her eating pattern? As the leading lady, she must be under the most stress."

But her cohort frowned, clearly not sold by the idea, "Could that really be it? This is the second andnt-" she was saying, until to cut off by the elevator’s ding.

Both won raised their gazes to the president, Lucas. Reflectively, they straightened their backs and cracked a polite smile.

"Good day sir." They greeted in unison.

Lucas plastered a smile on his face and waved politely at them, then he took his leave, heading down the hall from the direction they had just co from.

Both won exchanged quick glances as they stepped into the elevator. Both wondering the sa thing.

Just why was president Lucas headed towards Sadie’s dressing room?

*Flashback*

It felt surreal to Brooke, not only had the president approved her internship application, but he also stood up for her in front of everyone at the company.

And when she went ho and told everyone about it, their reactions were very...different, from what she had in mind.

Serena hugged her excitedly, "That’s great! At least that face of yours is worth sothing! And you caught the biggest fish ever! Just how lucky are we?!"

"Mother, he just helped , it wasn’t anything special. He’s just..." she paused and rembered the srizing look on Ethan’s face, "A really nice guy." She blushed at the mory from earlier.

But Cassie scoffed, her arms folded and her eyes narrowed into a harsh glare, "He must’ve pitied you. A man like Ethan Halton wouldn’t ever look twice in your direction!" She taunted.

Serena’s smile faltered, she released Brooke and walked over to where Cassie stood, "Co now, we should congratulate your sister, she’s done sothing amazing for us. If she traps Ethan Halton, we can benefit so much-"

Cassie peeled Serena’s hands off her shoulders, "This vegetable bitch isn’t worth anything! Do you think Ethan is interested in soone like her? When there’s much better options out there?"

Naturally, Cassie was talking about herself. In fact, Cassie had tried to get an audience with Ethan, in hopes of a sponsorship, but her attempts all landed in failures. And not just Ethan, she had her manager ssage the agency where top actor Damien worked for, but none of her approaches were fruitful.

She hissed, ’How could this limp bitch have gotten that internship? Even after all my efforts?!’ she bit her lower lip and balled her fists.

Serena forced a laugh. "Haha, I must’ve been carried away, of course, Ethan must’ve only helped Brooke because he felt pity for her. Soone as plain as Brooke can’t et up to his taste..."

While her mother downgraded her, Brooke who was sowhat used to this had her focus on her step father, Luther, who had but said a word about the news.

He just sat at the living room, his features hard to read.

As though he caught her staring, Luther got up and walked over to her.

"Brooke," he rested a hand on her shoulder, his lips drawn into a sinister smile. "It seems raising you wasn’t a complete waste."

Cassie frowned, "And what is that supposed to an? Don’t tell you’re takin her side, Daddy?"

Luther hardened his grip on Brooke’s shoulder, earning a painful wince out of her. "Of course not." He said over Brooke’s whimpering, "It’s just like your mother said, she’s granted us a golden chance, one that we can’t miss."

Luther turned to Brooke, "You’re going to get a seat with Ethan, there’s sothing I have to discuss with the man."

Brooke’s chest tightened, "B-But...how am I supposed to...to do that-"

"I didn’t ask you that did I?" He leaned in, "All I said was that you will get a seating with Ethan Halton, am I clear?" He demanded.

Teary eyed, Brooke couldn’t help but nod. "I-I’ll try."

But inwardly she was dying inside. Ethan was such a kind man, he didn’t deserve to be trapped in her twisted family’s ploys.

"Good." He took his hand off her shoulder and wiped it furiously against his pants. To Cassie he said, "Cassie dear, I’ll need your help."

Cassie grinned, "Yes, daddy?"

Rubbing his hands together he told her, "I will need you to share so of your clothes with Brooke-" he hadn’t even finished speaking when Cassie started throwing a tantrum.

"What the fuck?! Why would I share my clothes with that filth?!" She charged at Brooke, her hand ready to smack her right across the face.

But Luther was swift to hold her wrist, "Cassie!" He reprimanded her strictly.

Brooke froze in fear of getting hit, her grip on crutches loosened, causing her balance to shift, and thus she fell miserably to the ground with a silent thud.

She looked at Luther who had stopped Cassie. Why would he do that? Was he finally going to step in and stop Cassie’s bullying? Her thoughts were interrupted when Luther explained his actions.

"Save it for later." His tone firm, he looked and Brooke and said, "After we’ve gotten to Ethan, you can leave your mark on her as much as you want."
