Sadie was in the middle of saying her lines when the cast mbers suddenly started murmuring to each other. Sadie at first tried to block out their voices and focus on Damien but even he too started to lose concentration.

"What the hell-"

The director cut him off swiftly, "Sorry but filming for today is cancelled!" he announced over his gaphone.

"What?" Sadie and Damien exchanged quick glances, they had just finished setting up and everything.

"Director, you may not have noticed but we are behind schedule, we can’t afford to push back filming anymore. Isn’t that the whole reason we’re shooting on our off day?" Damien demanded, watching the staff mbers form crowds, their attention hooked on their phones.

Sadie seconded, "As it stands, we’re at a huge disadvantage with company J making a new movie-" she was saying buy got cut off by the director.

The news of Brooke’s arrest did not go unnoticed by Cassie and serena, in fact right after they found out both won treated themselves to a lavish breakfast!

Holding a glass of juice, Cassie cackled, "Karma really does exist! Who would have thought that that bitch would get what was coming to her so soon?"

Serena filled her plate, since Julian had left with his sister for an important eting, she decided to eat to her heart’s content before they got back ho. She had been playing the role of a depressed mother the entire night and was glad to be able to at freely again.

"Ah," Cassie groaned, I wish I could’ve gone to the station and seen that miserable bitch for myself! Her career is finally fucking over!"

Serena was smiling, but then she briefly recalled the video clip of Brooke getting arrested. "But don’t you think it’s strange? Brook was walking by herself in that video, not on a wheelchair or with crutches. Do you think she got surgery or sothing?" her mother inquired.

But Cassie rescinded the thought, "She can’t afford a surgery, if you ask , that bitch had been pretending not being able to walk all this ti. Maybe she thought she could get Ethan to stay with her if she kept acting pitiful." Cassie reasoned.

Cassie finished chewing before she responded, "What about him?"

"He’s gone to see Brooke in prison, aren’t you afraid of how it will look? Yours and Ethan’s engagent has been publicly announced, if he’s at the station for your sister-"

"Pipe down!" she scolded harshly, "Did you forget that illegitimate kid is still here?"

Serena gasped and covered her mouth at her blunder. Even though they were alone in Cassie’s room, it didn’t an no one was listening in on their conversation.

"Ah, my mistake, I was too careless just now." She gushed nervously.

Cassie pointed her fork at her, "You should know your place mother, if it weren’t for , you’d be stuck with Brooke and that good for nothing husband of yours. If not for my good luck having a rich father, heavens knows where you could’ve ended up."

Serena balled her fists but kept a polite smile on her face, "Cassie, Julian isn’t anything like Luther, so we have to be extra careful to convince him. Do you understand-" she was saying, but Cassie cut her off.

"Convincing? Why would I need to convince my dad that I’m his daughter?" she grinned, "And as for Ethan, that bastard can see his vegetable wife for as long as he wants to. After all, isn’t that why he agreed to the engagent in the first place?" She asked, revealing her conversation with Ethan.

Serena was shocked, "He told you?" she had begged Ethan not to tell Cassie, but it seed like he failed to keep up his end of the bargain.

She recalled the conversation she and Ethan shared a while ago, prior to the engagent announcent.

Serena lifted her lips into a mischievous grin, "It’s simple really, you just have to keep her helpless, Brooke can’t hold out if she doesn’t have a support system to lean on. I might not be the best mother, but I know each of my children very well. The girl has been overly dependent since birth, sothing she might’ve taken from ." Serena started off.

"As it stands, Brooke would gradually make her way back to you once whatever money she has runs out. But, if so sort of pillar shows up, you can forget ever standing a chance to be with her." She plainly told him.

Ethan snorted, "Pillar? Brooke has no one but who could help her-"

Serena shook her head, "Her father can."

"Luther?" Ethan laughed, "That man would never lift a finger to help Brooke."

"No, her real father. He’s back in the country and he wants his daughter in his life. And from what I’ve seen Ethan, the man is swimming in wealth. Wealth that could win Brooke over forever." She leaned in, "And when that happens, you will lose whatever relevance you had in her life whatsoever."

Ethan clenched his jaw so tight his veins started popping at the sides of his neck. "I won’t allow that! I’d rather kill-" he stopped himself when he realized he was thinking out loud.

Calming down, he asked, "How do I get rid of that threat?"

Serena replied with a confident grin, "Help make sure Julian never finds out Brooke is his daughter. I can tell he’s having his doubts, but before those doubts can foster even further, I’ll need your help to divert his attention and create situations for him and Cassie to bond."

"And how do you suppose I do that?" Ethan frowned.

"Easy, you just have to announce your engagent to my Cassie..."
