William stared at the text and ended up cracking a small smile. He was just about to respond when his bedroom door was opened and in ca his grandmother, father and mother.

William swiftly turned his phone off and slapped it on the dresser. His mother, Laura noticed this and narrowed her eyes at the gesture. Standing erect, he opened his arms, receiving his grandmother’s hug.

Laura frowned, "Mother, I think that William is already working hard enough in the company to win his grandfather’s favor." She walked over to her son and gently caressed his cheeks.

William could sense his mother was hinting at sothing else but he ignored it. He peeled her hands off his face and kept his stoic expression.

We don’t know what Maverick is planning, and we do not have the luxury to wait. getting married is our best bet." He said, in a tone that was hard to read.

Sophia excitedly nodded and left with her son to discuss William’s marriage. As soon as they left, Laura grabbed her son by the hands and looked him in the eye.

William shook his head, "I am happy to see that grandmother and father care enough about my well-being to arrange a marriage for ." he said, his tone lacking any emotion.

He glared harshly at her, "So you expect to act out and end up like Thane? Without this family, I am nothing. Without the business, I have nothing. Not all of us can afford to live as we please, you mother must know about that better than anyone." He said, then picked up his phone and marched furiously out of the room.
