Five days later.
A carriage quietly approached Tail Fin Town.
The carriage curtain was pulled back, revealing a thirteen or fourteen-year-old boy who was currently looking at everything around him with a face full of curiosity.
"Nis, why did you take off your clothes again?" Dalos slowly stopped the carriage, preparing for the city entry inspection. When he turned around and lifted the front curtain, he saw that the boy inside had stripped.
"I find it strange. Why do you wear clothes?" the boy nad Nis asked in confusion. After all, he had previously been soaking in a solution where clothes were completely unnecessary.
When Dalos dug the Saint Child out, he wanted the boy to choose a na so it would be easier to address him.
And so, the Saint Child chose the word "na" itself—Nis.
Dalos was stunned for a mont before saying, "No one uses the word 'na' as their actual na."
"Then I will choose this one. I feel like it will be very interesting." Nis had learned to speak incredibly quickly; his learning ability was terrifying. Although he could understand speech before, he had not been able to speak it. Yet, in just half a day, he had beco familiar with most common phrases.
"Also, when we were coming in, I felt as if I had walked into a river..." Nis did not dwell on the matter of clothes with Dalos. As he put his garnts back on, he voiced a peculiar sensation he had experienced.
"It might be because there is too much foot traffic, creating too many auras that affected your perception," Dalos said, scratching his head. He found it difficult to understand so of Nis's senses.
During the journey to Tail Fin Town, Nis had expressed his feelings about many things.
For example, regarding Dangerous Creatures, he remarked that they were in great pain and seed on the verge of death.
These assessnts might have been correct, but they completely exceeded the cognition of ordinary people.
Regardless, Dalos still placed imnse importance on Nis.
He took note of the boy's sensations, thinking that investigating them later might yield unexpected gains.
Just like before, when Nis sensed the aura of a 'giant whale', Dalos had indeed found a piece of Whalehide Ore hidden in the grass.
"Is that person also family?" The Saint Child's sudden words made Dalos pause.
He imdiately turned around and saw Nemus inside the city, sitting on horseback and looking in their direction.
Dalos instantly grew tense.
After all, they had previously analyzed the situation and concluded that Nemus's target was also the Saint Child.
It was likely just inconvenient for Nemus, which was why he had used such thods to force them into doing this work.
Now, it seed their suspicions were confird. He had only just brought the boy back and had not even entered the city yet, but Nemus had already discovered them.
'When did Nels set up these informants?' Dalos grew tense.
This ti, for the sake of caution, Dalos had not taken Nis down the trade routes stationed with Holy Knights, but had traveled along obscure back roads instead.
From start to finish, they had not co into contact with anyone else. Yet, the mont they arrived at the gate, Nemus was already there. Was this even reasonable?
'Could it be that Nels is monitoring us through so special thod?' At this mont, Dalos even entertained the thought of firing a signal arrow to notify the family.
"Why are you so tense?" The Saint Child's curious voice helped Dalos relax a little.
He realized that the Saint Child harbored no vigilance whatsoever toward Nemus, which at least indicated that Nemus likely held no significant malice toward the boy for the ti being.
"No need to be so nervous." Before Dalos could reply, Nemus steered his horse to the side of the carriage. After smiling and speaking to Dalos, his gaze landed on the Saint Child.
"Your na is Nis, is it?"
"You find it very interesting." The Saint Child felt a sense of joy at being acknowledged.
"It is indeed very interesting." Nemus nodded, then said, "I know a person whose na is Nemus—aning naless."
"That is also very interesting. It is the exact opposite of my na. I would like to et him if there is a chance." A joyous expression appeared on the Saint Child's face.
Having spent his entire existence within the environnt of Holy Blood since birth, he was incomparably pure.
However, this purity was currently just naive innocence. It was a profound ignorance of worldly affairs manufactured by an artificially isolated environnt.
Nemus looked forward to seeing whether the boy could maintain this purity once plunged into the great dyeing vat of society.
"Then there will be an opportunity," Nemus smiled and nodded. He was not optimistic about the Dartnerly family's ability to take the Saint Child for their own use.
Another important point was that Tail Fin Town already housed a failed Saint Child—Rhine.
Furthermore, Rhine clearly had a current need to advance to the Golden Rank.
By bringing the Saint Child back at this exact ti, the Dartnerly family had a high probability of stepping on a landmine.
"Are you thinking about sothing fun?" the Saint Child asked with so curiosity.
"Yes, I am thinking that the future might beco very interesting." Nemus smiled and nodded before bidding farewell to the Saint Child.
"So I must go prepare for this exciting future. Goodbye!"
Riding his horse, Nemus entered Tail Fin Town. As a Great Knight, he did not need to undergo inspection after flashing his badge.
As he rode off into the distance, Nemus glanced back.
The mont the Saint Child stepped into Tail Fin Town, Nemus confird that there had been no issue with his earlier sensing.
Based on his perception of the Historical Trajectory, the Saint Child would indeed beco a crucial turning point in the upcoming Historical Trajectory of Tail Fin Town.
'But, could it be that he only acquired that na because I am occupying the eye of this historical storm?' Nemus pondered as he rode.
Nas held aning.
A demon's True Na, in particular, was a matter of life and death.
Under these circumstances, the fact that the Saint Child had chosen a na completely opposite to his own was a profoundly important signal.
Of course, this did not necessarily an that the Saint Child would definitely beco his enemy.
Being opposites did not equate to being foes; it rely represented a difference in aning under certain conditions.
It was much like in Alchemy, where combining opposite elents could instead purify them, allowing one to extract gold.
It was just that in the current situation, the imagery that these nas represented within the flow of history could not be imdiately determined.
As Nemus considered all these possibilities, he could not help but feel a swell of joy in his heart.
He looked forward to the grand stage, anticipating an increasingly brilliant future.
It would add a touch of splendor to his otherwise decaying life.
At this mont, he only felt that the entirety of Tail Fin Town was becoming more and more interesting.
On the other side, as the Saint Child watched Nemus leave, a trace of confusion crept into his deanor.
He did not quite understand why that person was so delighted.
But soone being happy was always a good thing, wasn't it?
"Why was that person beaten?" the Saint Child's confusion soon deepened.
He saw a man entering the city who, because the gri on his body had brushed against a carriage horse, was surrounded by servants, dragged to the side, and viciously beaten.
Faced with this question, Dalos gave a matter-of-fact answer: "Because that person is lowborn scum."
