Only after leaving the precincts of Jin City University did Tang Xiaowan start replying to ssages.

[Just finished class, was chatting with soone.]

[I wanted to tell you that we had four classes today and wouldn’t be able to leave until 11:40. If you’re bored, roam around the campus, and I’ll be waiting for you at the usual place later.]

You startled there; you should’ve said so earlier, seriously!

With a pout, Tang Xiaowan replied: [Got it, you go attend your classes, I have plenty of ways to kill ti.]

Just when she thought that was it, another ssage popped up.

[Also, I’ll need a ride to Li Garden after school, my brother said Bai Long might be too busy to pick up today.]

[Sure, I’m also busy, do not disturb .]

[Thanks a lot, see you at noon at twelve.]

And just like that, another crisis was safely navigated.

As she zipped her bag, Tang Xiaowan saw the new black phone and rembered she hadn’t called Mr. Leng yet.

However, since she had already learned from Cheng Shi that the man was indeed Mr. Leng himself, calling him now didn’t seem that important. Still, saying thanks was necessary.

Thinking thus, she turned on the phone.

Sure enough, there was already a number saved and it was the only one, only the contact na wasn’t "Leng Lingxiao," as Tang Xiaowan had assud, but "Trust."

She steadied herself and made the call.

Leng Lingxiao picked up quickly, almost as if he had been waiting: "Tangtang, did your morning classes finish?"

This greeting was unexpected for Tang Xiaowan.

She thought she would be the one to speak first.

That voice was unmistakable; it was indeed that man.

"Yes, thank you, I’ve received the card. But there’s sothing I want to ask you; is your full na Leng Lingxiao?"

"That’s right, you checked this online, didn’t you?"

"Oh, okay, then never mind, goodbye."

"Tangtang, wait a minute, do you still not rember who I am, what my na is?"

"I already said it, right? Leng Lingxiao. Yes, and we’re close friends; I’ve invested in your company, dividends paid quarterly, and also..."

"Just get back early, and don’t wander off, goodbye."

And with that, Leng Lingxiao hung up the phone.

Tang Xiaowan held her phone, dumbly looking at Cheng Shi who was focused on driving, unable to snap back to reality.

How does he seem to know everything?

This man is way stranger than Zishen!

No, the strange one should be —I can’t believe I happen to know two wealthy n, and both handso and tall at that.

She pinched her face to ensure she wasn’t dreaming; all of this was real.

Could they both like ?

"Miss, we’ve arrived."

Cheng Shi’s deep voice interrupted Tang Xiaowan’s tangled thoughts and limitless daydreams.

She glanced out the car window: "Go."

The two of them shared a knowing smile, got out of the car, and looked up to see a deep blue sign, "Jincheng Real Estate."

Tang Xiaowan pointed at the scrolling marquee above the door: "Jincheng Real Estate, providing you a warm ho, hmm, this slogan is well written; I like it, haha."

"Miss, let’s take a look inside."

"Hmm, okay, let’s see if we can find a bargain."

A man in a business suit greeted them.

After Tang Xiaowan explained her intentions, the man quickly booted up his computer: "Just in ti, there’s a property that just went on sale near Jin City University, a 20-minute walk, a three-story detached house with 300 square ters inside, and an 80 square ter yard, complete with all furniture and appliances."

The webpage loaded, and picture after picture appeared, making Tang Xiaowan itch to just hand over the money right then.

The yard had a wooden gazebo, the second and third floors each had three bedrooms, and there was a small flower room on the top floor with ready-made racks.

Especially the interior furnishings, both the styles and the colors were very much to Tang Xiaowan’s liking.

She thought, if it’s no more than 3 million, I’ll buy it.

But she knew very well that such a scenario was impossible, so she was simply going through the motions. Once she left here, she’d check other places, maybe there would be sothing suitable.

"That looks pretty good, how much?"

"You sure have a good eye, this property is indeed excellent, very worthy as an investnt, and..."

And so, the man went full throttle into complint mode, talked nonstop for over ten minutes; he covered everything from structure to decoration, from the locality of the community to the city governnt’s planning for the next ten years—he could tie in anything, except the price of the house.

Cheng Shi saw Tang Xiaowan getting restless and quickly interrupted.

"What’s the price, just say it?"

The man finally stopped, smiling and said: "The full price is just 3.6 million, but the owner insists on a one-ti paynt and no loans."

Tang Xiaowan was shocked: "A mortgaged house?"

"Absolutely not, you can rest assured, everything is in order, no financial disputes, it’s just the owner urgently needs the money, otherwise, it wouldn’t be sold so cheaply."

Isn’t this too cheap; given this location, this price, isn’t there sothing wrong with the house?

If there’s nothing wrong, just buying it outright would cost 3.6 million, and the remaining money could even be enough to repay Zishen, but next September, wages also need to be paid for i Garden, and that amount is quite significant.

Right, and then there’s all the miscellaneous managent fees, property fees, car maintenance, and tuition fees.

Thinking like this, Tang Xiaowan imdiately beca conflicted.

The man seed to have perceived her concerns, quickly grabbed the mouse, scrolled the page, and showed her another set of school district housing.

The location was good, exactly in Zihan’s neighborhood.

With an indoor area of 150 square ters and also a yard, but it was a small duplex and not only had two fewer bedrooms but also didn’t have as good a layout as the detached house.

It’s always like this with humans; it’s easy to form biases.

Even though the second option was also good and cheaper, Tang Xiaowan just couldn’t bring herself to like it.

"Thank you, I will think about it."

"If you like the detached house we saw first, the price can still be negotiated."

Tang Xiaowan’s mouth curved slightly, looking steadily at the man: "Can you knock off the fraction, let’s not bother with the 600 thousand?"

"That would be a bit difficult for , as you know, this location is indeed..."

The man gave a sheepish laugh, although he didn’t directly refuse Tang Xiaowan’s proposal, he made it very clear through his words that knocking off the fraction was definitely not possible.

"Thank you, we’ll keep looking."

Tang Xiaowan glanced at Cheng Shi, preparing to get up and leave, but the man pre-empted her by standing up and blocking her path.

"What are you trying to do?" Cheng Shi reacted quickly, imdiately stepping between the two.

The man saw there was a misunderstanding, hurriedly explained: "Sorry, I ant no harm, just give a few more minutes, just three minutes."

Tang Xiaowan nodded, returned to her seat—she really had taken a liking to it after all, so might as well wait a bit. Besides, there was still ti before she had to return to campus, and she could afford to wait.

Thankful, the man ran towards his office.
