Li Fugui glanced at the rearview mirror and imdiately started the car, "Yes, madam."

At this point, Tang i finally heaved a sigh of relief, then leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes. She was getting tired, seemingly weary of this sort of life.

However, they had not gone far when Li Fugui suddenly exclaid, "Madam, you must look quickly!"

Alerted by his words, Tang i jerked her eyes open and saw a black SUV speeding towards them, also bearing out-of-town plates.

The speed was unnervingly fast, almost as if the newcor ant harm.

"Should I charge through?" Li Fugui asked.

Tang i gave a faint smile, "No need. Just drive normally, it has nothing to do with us."

Li Fugui nodded and remained silent.

Thus, the sedan continued on its way and Tang i, smiling, opened the car window to look towards the black SUV.

The person inside was also lowering their window and looking back at her; their gazes interlocked in midair, like two unfamiliar lines eting and creating an intersection in an instant, seemingly conveying a myriad of unspoken words.

The man’s look was profound and resolute, his thin lips slightly curved, he nodded lightly at Tang i.

Soon, a shrill braking sound followed.

Tang i smiled lightly, then rolled up the car window and closed her eyes again to rest, thinking: They arrived quite promptly this ti, three minutes early.

Monts later, just as she was drifting off to sleep, a deep voice echoed in her ears.

"Tang i, are you alright, did you get hurt? Shall we go to the hospital for a check-up? Your blood sugar is too low; you’ve been through so much on the road, don’t you..."

Tang i: "..."

Ah, why concoct such a story about hypoglycemia? Wait until I settle this!

"Tang i? Why aren’t you speaking, you..."

"I’m fine, just tired!" Tang i interrupted helplessly.

"Who were those people just now?"

Abruptly turning, Tang i frowned and asked Wang Jinhui in return, "What else do you want to ask?"

"Oh, it’s nothing, rest well."

The atmosphere inside the car suddenly took on a subtle shift; Wang Jinhui grew worried, but didn’t dare probe further, aware that Tang i certainly didn’t want to talk.

Soon after, Li Fugui turned on the music.

Instantly, a lodious piece filled the car — a classical piano piece, soothing and tranquil, gradually enveloping the entire space.

Listening to the piano music, Tang i’s mood gradually stabilized. Yet, she wondered why she felt so restless today, or rather, what had she truly been pursuing in her life?

She suddenly realized, the man behind her was beginning to influence her.

Also, Tang i pondered whether in such a vast world, there was really no place where she could rest for a few years, live a free and unburdened life?

Ye Wanhua wanted to adopt Tangtang as a daughter?

Tangtang, would you like that?

Faced with these questions, Tang i couldn’t find the answers and felt even more baffled.

As ti passed, the white sedan slowly drove into the city center. Though it was nearly ten o’clock, the area was still bustling and vibrant.

Tang i looked out the window, saw many lively shops and crowds, and her face carried a faint smile. Perhaps, this was the peaceful and free life she desired.

Finally, the car entered Chunlei Street, and Li Fugui stopped at No. 66.

Compared to earlier, this place was sowhat tranquil.

The door of the white sedan slowly opened; Tang i and Wang Jinhui alighted simultaneously. Li Fugui took out a delicate brass key, gently inserted it into the lock, and the door opened.

The entire space was silent and oppressive, almost allowing one to hear their own heartbeat and footsteps, until Granny Yu quickly approached from the kitchen.

"I’ve prepared so porridge, it’s just cooked."

Tang i nodded slightly, "Are there any stead dumplings left? Also, slice so soy beef and pickles for ."

"Yes, plenty left."

After Granny Yu spoke, she headed to the kitchen, followed closely by Zhao Renjie.

"Tang i, what... what are you really busy with?" Seeing everyone had left, Wang Jinhui hesitated for a mont, but finally couldn’t help asking.

Tang i looked at him and gave a faint smile, "I don’t even know what I’m busy with; you’re asking ? Let’s eat and you should head back early."

As her words faded, the doorbell rang.

Tang i swiftly walked to the door and quickly opened it, only to be faced with a shocking scene.

Standing at the door was a woman in a black suit, slightly bowing her head, holding a file in her hand. Behind her were two n, also in black suits, looking solemn.

"I’m here to deliver this to you."

The woman nodded slightly and handed the docunt bag to Tang i with both hands, then turned around and left.

Tang i opened the docunt bag and her expression imdiately beca complicated—inside was a sealed docunt issued by so departnt.

At that mont, Wang Jinhui hurried over.

"What happened?"

Tang i, holding the docunt bag, her eyes vacant, "Nothing, just a contract."

Then, Tang i walked upstairs.

Her steps were very slow, yet they felt incredibly heavy, as if sothing was weighing her down.

This ti, Wang Jinhui did not imdiately follow her but stood quietly by himself, silently watching Tang i.

Perhaps, it’s related to Uncle Jiang!

You refuse to admit that you are Jiang Ruowan, but the graves of Tang Nanxi and Jiang Yaozong are visited every year, who else could it be but and another?

Isn’t it you?

He thought this because he had just seen a flicker of tears in Tang i’s eyes.

Wang Jinhui was certain that in this world, nothing else could have made Jiang Ruowan endure for so many years, except for investigating Uncle Jiang’s death and avenging her father.

Moreover, he always believed that Tang i was Jiang Ruowan, the wife he had been desperately searching for.

Why can’t we face it together?

Ruowan, don’t you trust ? Or are you afraid I’ll disrupt your plans?

...

On the third floor, in the bedroom.

Tang i anxiously opened the sealed docunt, as if an invisible force was tearing at her heart, making it hard for her to breathe.

She carefully reviewed the docunts inside, her gaze growing increasingly grave.

The papers detailed a massive financial transaction and the mysterious disappearance of two important figures. And all of these seed to be intricately linked to her father.

"It’s impossible, there must be so misunderstanding; how could my father possibly—impossible."

"Yes, it must be sacrificing the pawn to save the chariot!"

Once Tang i realized this, her mind cleared instantly, and she slowly walked to the balcony, looking at the bright red bougainvillea, silently making plans.

anwhile, downstairs, Granny Yu had already brought rice porridge, stead dumplings, and soy-sauce beef to the dining room.

Unfortunately, Wang Jinhui had no appetite.

He was still pondering Tang i’s situation, thinking about how to open her heart.

"Granny Yu."

Granny Yu paused for a mont, then after a few seconds, she quickly turned back, asking respectfully, "Mr. Wang, did you just call ?"

Wang Jinhui gently stirred the rice porridge with a spoon, round and round, filled with heavy thoughts.

"How long have you been with Tang i?"

"Oh, it’s been a long ti, around... 15 years, yes, 15 years."

"Since the adoption of Tangtang?"

"Yes, it seems so. The lady was too busy with work then, often leaving early and returning late; the hypoglycemia could be because... her als were never on ti."

Hearing this, Wang Jinhui thoughtfully nodded, "Let use the kitchen for a bit."

"Of course, feel free."

At this mont, Granny Yu felt particularly gratified.

"Do we still have bird’s nest at ho?"

"Yes, yes, we still have quite a bit, the first batch you brought isn’t finished yet."

"Oh, do we have pears?"

"Yes, bought them fresh early this morning!"

The two made their way to the kitchen, chatting about various ingredients along the way, all of which were good for moistening the lungs and stomach, and also high in sugar.

Little did they know, Tang i was not hypoglycemic.
