After Jas Linden and Daniel Linden were driven away, Tiana Linden’s face was still clouded.

Did these two really have the nerve to intervene in her romantic affairs?

Where did they get the nerve?

A bit angrily, she looked at Hector Chaucer.

How could Hector Chaucer possibly be ruthless, cunning, and deceitful?

Jas Linden and Daniel Linden still judge people and things only by appearance, just like before.

In her view, Hector Chaucer is passionate and dutiful, always repays his debts, and his character is so much better than that of Jas Linden and Daniel Linden.

And what Daniel Linden and Jas Linden did to her was truly ruthless.

Clearly upset, she looked at Hector Chaucer and comforted him:

"Hector Chaucer, don’t listen to those two rambling."

"You are much better than them."

To Hector Chaucer, what’s a little slander?

He’s been through bloody storms, betrayal, manipulation, and sches from family.

The Linden Family’s father and son saying a few words have no real impact.

Sitting across the dinner table, Hector Chaucer looked at Tiana Linden and said:

"Don’t worry. If I, Hector Chaucer, want to marry a woman, no one can stop ."

Tiana Linden heard him and looked up.

Although Hector Chaucer’s tone was calm, it carried a certain powerful assertiveness.

Every word weighted with gravity.

Yet the waves in his eyes were deeply hidden.

As if even the wildest storm could be swallowed into the calm abyss of his eyes.

He was utterly contemptuous toward Daniel Linden and Jas Linden’s slanders.

Tiana Linden took quite a while to react... but they were just pretending to be a couple, why did Hector Chaucer speak so earnestly?

It wasn’t until Daisy’s little hand landed on hers that she snapped back from her thoughts.

"Mommy, don’t be sad."

"It doesn’t matter if your evil uncle and grandpa don’t want you."

"You still have and Daddy, and you’ll have siblings in the future."

"We all love you."

Following Daisy’s topic, Hector Chaucer placed a piece of pan-fried deep-sea snow fish on Tiana Linden’s plate, "Daisy is right; we all love you, don’t be sad."

Tiana Linden knew he was acting more genuine in front of Daisy, so he followed what Daisy said.

She cheerfully replied, "Thank you!"

"The family of three" continued to happily eat their al.

It seed as if the Linden Family’s father and son had never co, never affected Tiana Linden’s mood.

At night.

Daisy was asleep.

Hector Chaucer knocked on Tiana Linden’s room door.

Tiana Linden happened to be reading so books related to traditional Chinese dicine.

Before going to prison, she had abandoned her studies, and her academic status was revoked.

Back then, she was studying dicine, specifically choosing a major related to traditional Chinese dicine.

In the two or three years since she got out, she had no identity, no background, no education, relying only on playing piano to do part-ti work, barely managing to survive with Daisy.

Life was tough.

She wanted to further her studies in traditional Chinese dicine.

Even if her mother’s inheritance ca through, she still needed a career for long-term developnt.

Just then, she heard a knock on the door.

She got up to open the door.

"Hector Chaucer, you haven’t slept?"

"There’s a pharmaceutical research academic seminar on Tuesday, and many experts will attend. I’ll take you along."

"Oh!"

"Here."

At the door, Hector Chaucer was dressed in a lake-blue silk short-sleeved pajama.

When he handed a box to Tiana Linden, the toned muscles of his forearms exposed outside the pajamas were solid and strong.

The remaining water beads on his neck rolled into his collar along the sexy Adam’s apple.

This man’s every move was cloaked with a strong masculine hormonal aura.

Eventually morphing into a fatal attraction.

Even though Tiana Linden and Hector Chaucer had grown up together from a young age, she couldn’t help but avoid eye contact.

Only then did she take a beat to accept the box in his hand, "...What’s this?"

Hector Chaucer: "A cheongsam, you can wear it during the academic seminar. I hope you like it."

Tiana Linden thanked him, and Hector Chaucer stood at the door gentlemanly, "May I co in for a chat?"

Tiana Linden quickly stepped aside to make room, "Of course!"

The two walked into the room.

Hector Chaucer was examining her bedroom.

This was the first ti he entered her bedroom since she moved in.

The bouquet of eustomas at the bedside was blooming brilliantly.

To Hector Chaucer, the air inside seed fresher than outside, carrying a sweet scent.

"Try it on, see if it fits."

"If it doesn’t fit, I’ll have the designer rush a revision tomorrow."

Tiana Linden opened the box, "It’s custom-made?"

"Yes, try it on."

Upon hearing it’s custom-made, Tiana Linden couldn’t help but feel flattered.

She hurriedly went to try it on in the fitting room.

The door to the fitting room was slightly ajar, yet suddenly there was a scream from Tiana Linden.

"Ah... hiss!"

Concerned she might be in trouble, Hector Chaucer felt a tightness in his heart and, without thinking, pushed the door open and entered, "Are you okay?"

The mont he entered, they both fell into an awkward situation.

As Tiana Linden’s cheongsam was only half worn.

Her earring got caught on the cheongsam, neither able to remove it nor take it off.

With just a little force, the cheongsam snagged.

She dared not make any rash movents.

Wearing only a set of skin-toned underwear, she was seen by Hector Chaucer.

"Sorry!" Hector Chaucer quickly exited and asked from outside, "Do you need my help?"

Tiana Linden was a bit flustered, "No, but my earring snagged the cheongsam, I’m really sorry."

For so reason, her ears suddenly heated up.

Thinking about being seen by Hector Chaucer just now, her heart skipped a beat.

The more this happened, the more flustered she beca.

Trying to separate the earring from the cheongsam, she used brute force.

One snow-white earlobe suddenly bled.

Hiss... it hurt a bit, but fortunately, she finally separated the earring from the cheongsam.

She quickly dressed, went out, and cautiously looked at Hector Chaucer like a child who did sothing wrong:

"Hector Chaucer, I’m sorry, the cheongsam was snagged by ."

She felt anxious and embarrassed, but Hector Chaucer was serene.

Seeing her ear bleeding, he quickly brought a dic kit, "Sit down, let disinfect."

"No need, this cheongsam..."

"The cheongsam is fine, it can be fixed. Your ear is bleeding, sit down, let look."

Whether it was Hector Chaucer’s voice being too gentle or what, Tiana Linden obediently sat down.

Hector Chaucer sat in front of her.

His warm fingertips subtly caressed the back of her neck, "Co closer, I won’t bite."

Soon, a cotton swab soaked in iodine was gently wiping across her earlobe.

Though it was cool, Tiana Linden felt her ears heating up.

The bedroom beca extrely quiet.

Quiet to the point where they only seed to hear each other’s breathing.

Tiana Linden’s eyelashes lightly trembling, she acutely felt the pajama fabric with Hector Chaucer’s body warmth gently brushing against her neck.

Mixed with the scent of cedar and shower gel, instantly enveloping her.

When the coolness around her ears vanished, only then did she dare to turn her head to look at Hector Chaucer.

His gaze seed like moonlight soaked in amber, calmly resting upon her with no hint of wavering, yet as if it wanted to engrave her silhouette into his eyes.

Though there were no obvious emotions, Tiana Linden had an illusion.

She felt her heart skip and, gathering courage, asked, "Hector Chaucer, why do I feel you’ve been so good to recently, as if you’re trying to please ?"
