Chapter 918: Chapter 526: Dismbering the Race of Spirits_2

He took a deep breath, ready to sit down as he had decided before. However, at this critical mont, he suddenly felt an inexplicable premonition, as if sothing was about to happen. His gaze grew sharp and alert, as if to pierce through the surrounding air, searching for the unknown that was about to arrive.

Not good, it’s Little White.

He had telepathy with Little White, Little White was in trouble.

At this point, Logan could no longer care about being a guest and imdiately got up to leave.

“Miss Ellie, I have matters to attend to, I will honor our appointnt another day.”

Having said this, he transford into a streak of light and disappeared in front of Ellie.

“Young Master Logan!”

Ellie shouted, even just trying to express concern, but it was too late, and she definitely couldn’t keep up with his speed. Ellie was shocked, clutching the front of her dress tightly, her expression strange.

“Is there… not even a mont to speak? Is the gap between Young Master Logan and us humans really that vast?”

Her murmur was overheard by her mother, who had sohow found her way to her side. Hearing this, she sighed.

“Ah…”

The mother slowly approached, gently steadying Ellie’s trembling shoulders with her warm and firm hands, trying to offer so comfort. Her eyes were filled with concern and worry, as if to warn Ellie of a harsh reality.

“Ellie, my good child, listen to your mother’s advice,” her mother’s voice was gentle yet firm, as if stating an indisputable truth, “So people, from the mont they are born, live in an utterly different world from ours, separated as heaven is from earth. You and that lord, your worlds, your statuses, they are so starkly different. Between you, there will always be a chasm too vast to cross.”

Upon hearing this, a wave of indescribable bitterness welled up in Ellie. She hung her head low, her lips tightly pursed, at a loss for words. Yet, tears fell like broken pearls, one by one, dampening her dress. Those shining droplets seed to carry endless sorrow and helplessness, silently conveying her pain and struggle.

“But, Young Master Logan had already agreed to stay for a al…”

Her mother imdiately interrupted her fantasy.

“A al is nothing, if he so desires, he can have the sa al a second and third ti, but for us in such circumstances, it’s hard enough to offer such hospitality. Ellie, can’t you see the distance between you and him?”

“I’m not trying to discourage you, I just hope you can see the reality. You are my precious daughter, it’s painful for to see you hurt.”

Ellie cried even harder, seemingly pouring out her emotions in her mother’s presence.

“But Mother, I really like him, even as a concubine.”

“Enough, Ellie. I would risk my own life rather than let you be soone’s concubine. Moreover, even as a concubine, it’s not a given he would agree. You and he, you’re from two different worlds. Why can’t you see that?”

Repeating her advice over and over had also tired the mother.

She lowered her head, covering her chest, and coughed softly.

Ellie imdiately grew worried.

“Mother, what’s wrong? Are you okay, is your health alright?”

“It’s nothing serious, thanks to the dicine the lord provided, I won’t collapse for the ti being. Ellie, listen to , don’t do anything foolish.”

Although her mother’s health appeared worriso, her pale complexion and frail fra seemingly at the rcy of a gust of wind, she persisted with a weak yet steadfast voice, earnestly advising Ellie. Her words were full of love and hope for Ellie; though hoarse, they resonated with strength.

Ellie listened quietly, not speaking, only casting her profound and complex gaze at her sickly mother. Her eyes were filled with concern and gratitude for her mother, yet they also revealed a hint of helplessness and sadness. Looking around, she saw the bare walls of their ho and the neatly arranged, modest furniture that couldn’t hide their poverty. All of this only added to the heaviness and oppression in Ellie’s heart.

Ultimately, Ellie sadly lowered her head, allowing the tears to swirl in her eyes. She understood her mother’s painstaking care and expectations, but she also knew too well her own plight and status, incompatible with that other world. All this made Ellie feel powerless and lost, clueless about how to face the future or fulfill her mother’s hopes.

anwhile, Logan, like a keen hound, was closely following that faint connection, as if it were a compass in his heart, guiding him through the busy streets and convoluted alleys. His steps were firm and powerful, each landing solidly as if declaring war against fate, refusing to be constrained by it.

Finally, he arrived in front of the inn. Standing at the door, Logan was filled with anticipation and anxiety.

Despite speeding up as much as he could, he was still a step too late upon arriving at the inn.

“Little White!”

When he threw open the door and called out loudly, no familiar figure appeared.

What made Logan even more uneasy was the chaos that reigned inside the inn.

In Little White’s room, everything was in disarray, tables overturned, chairs toppled.

He spotted a glowing green pendant in the corner and his eyes lit up as he stepped forward to pick it up.

“This is Little White’s favorite thing, and it’s been left here too.”
