Clearly, the burly n didn’t recognize Logan. Though tall, he wasn’t very muscular, so they weren’t scared of him and didn’t take his words seriously.
Instead, they looked at Logan arrogantly and fiercely, with a deep voice, one of them said to Logan,
“And who are you, kid? Trying to play hero to save the beauty? You picked the wrong person to save. Do you know who I am? Do you know who I work for? That’s Young Master Johnson from our city, a big na. Do you dare to offend him? Even if you dare, can you beat ? If you don’t have the real skill, don’t pick up this delicate task!”
The man gave Logan a disdainful look, then spat on the side and patted his hands, looking down on Logan.
“Hey, don’t talk like that. I don’t like hearing it. We still need to abide by the law here. You should know this world doesn’t belong to the Kings, okay? Who do you think he is? Abducting a civilian girl in plain daylight, what does that make you? If the court knew, do you know how many heads would roll? Bullying a weak woman, what honor is there in that?”
Ellie, standing there the whole ti, was almost scared to tears by this confrontation.
She was naturally timid and felt even more so in this situation. She dared not move a muscle, afraid that they might seize her.
Now, the only person she could rely on was Logan, so she didn’t dare stray three ters from him, and could only follow closely, clinging to his sleeve.
Logan indeed gave her a sense of security. Standing in front of Ellie, she didn’t feel as scared.
Logan paused and continued.
“It’s not about chiding you, but you should discern right from wrong in your hearts. Don’t just blindly follow Young Master Johnson’s orders. If he asks you to kill soone or set fires, would you do it too?”
“There’s a saying, ‘A prodigal who returns is more precious than gold,’ be better n. And pass a ssage to Mr. King, tell him to stop coveting Ellie.”

The burly n had no intention of leaving. They were the type to look down on others, and no amount of persuasion would reach them.
No, it was as if they hadn’t listened at all!
All that talking, so many wasted words.
“Who do you think you are, dodging ? I’m definitely taking the girl today. You think too highly of yourself. Do you think I’d be scared of you?”
“Pah, get lost as far as you can, don’t interfere with my business. Be careful, or you’ll see whether your mouth or my fist is harder!”
Now, Logan wished he could roll his eyes to the sky. He had never t such a shaless person in his life. This was a new peak in his understanding of human nature.
He realized it was impossible to reason with such people—not everyone could listen. So, Logan decided to use the simplest and most brutal thod to drive them away.
No sooner said than done, Logan made sure Ellie was safe to one side then bent down gently and reassured her.
“Ellie, don’t be scared later, okay? Don’t worry, I won’t let you get hurt. Just stay here, and don’t wander off. In a mont or two, I’ll have chased these people away!”
Ellie’s eyes were like two gleaming pearls, fixed on Logan’s face. At first, a subtle unease flickered in them, as if fearful of the unknown yet to co. However, as Logan’s warm and resolute voice reached her, his words caressing her like a spring breeze, her expression softened, the tension in her eyes replaced by deep comfort. Her gaze beca firm again, as if she had found a haven for her soul, filled with trust and reliance on Logan.
She nodded softly and spoke.
“Don’t worry, it’s okay, I won’t be scared—I trust you!”
A warmth flashed across Logan’s eyes. For the first ti, being unconditionally trusted by soone ward his heart.
Logan turned and punched each of the burly n swiftly, a coordinated series of blows without any wasted motion—one punch per person.
The burly n were knocked silly by his punches.
Never did they expect the man before them to be deceptively strong, yet in their hearts, they were unwilling to concede defeat.
