Chapter 855: Chapter 503: Divine Descendants

“Wait, my lord, please don’t kill . I bear you no malice; I can help you. I know their plan; they have infected many places, and I can restore them,”

Logan’s eyebrows twitched imdiately upon hearing this.

“Soone has said the sa thing to before, and that Demon Race mber deceived . Do you know what beca of him?”

The thin Demon Race mber swallowed hard, and although he had not witnessed it, he seed to be able to imagine it.

Nonetheless, he boldly said,

“My lord, please trust . I am truly not like other mbers of the Demon Race. If you don’t believe , you can try . If there’s any dishonesty on my part, you can also kill . You know, I am very weak and pose no threat to you.”

...

Logan did not speak but simply observed him, as if discerning the truth from lies.

He rembered the words he had heard when he first arrived and the sight of this person being bullied and beaten to the brink of death. Finally, he decided to trust once more.

“Fine, I’ll trust you one more ti, but you’d better not deceive , or else…”

He did not finish his sentence, but the threat was clear. The thin Demon Race mber was extrely grateful and led the two to a swampy area tainted with Demonic Qi, where he restored it to its original state right before their eyes.

Logan watched everything, a strange gleam flashing through his eyes.

The thin Demon Race mber let out a sigh of relief and approached him.

“It’s done, young master. I have restored everything.”

Logan narrowed his eyes slightly.

“You go first into the swamp and circulate your demonic power, just by yourself.”

The thin Demon Race mber tilted his head, seemingly confused by his decision, then gave a bitter smile after realizing sothing.

“It seems you don’t trust …”

“Well then, since that’s the case, I will prove my innocence with my actions.”

With that, he resolutely walked into the swamp and circulated his demonic power. There were no problems whilst he did so, nor did any harm co to him, and Logan’s wariness diminished a little.

Although the thin Demon Race mber understood Logan’s approach, he couldn’t help feeling a bit bitter.

“Young master, you really can trust . My strength is so much weaker than yours; there’s no need for to deceive you!”

Logan curled his lips, revealing a sowhat mocking smile.

“I’ve caught a Demon Race mber before who was also no match for and claid he could restore the infected items to their original state. However, he tampered with them during the process and caused loss. Once bitten, twice shy—I have to be cautious with your kind.”

Hearing this, the thin Demon Race mber understood why he was being so wary and gave a wry twist to his mouth.

Truly the style of the Demon Race; hearing it from this human didn’t surprise him at all.

“Young master, can you trust now?”

Without any further reservations, he rely hoped to gain their trust. Logan didn’t speak and turned his gaze toward Maya Leaf.

“Miss Leaf, may I borrow your skill? Now you command Beasts; let them enter the swamp. I want to see what the situation is like.”

Maya Leaf nodded without hesitation.

“Leave it to . It’s a minor matter.”

She imdiately summoned so creatures and directed them into the swamp. Without exception, these small animals entered and exited properly, unhard.

Logan’s expression softened, and it seed there were no issues.

This ti, he looked again at the thin Demon Race mber with a certain degree of trust.

“You’re sensible for not deceiving .”

“I wouldn’t dare, and infecting the environnt is not in my nature. Even if you had not intervened, I would have eventually restored everything to its original state,” he replied.

Logan grew curious about this Demon Race mber upon hearing this.

“What is your na? You seem a bit different from the other Demon Race mbers I’ve t.”

Whether it was this Demon Race mber being ostracized by the others or his deeds, he was nothing like a Demon Race.

If not for the dense Demonic Qi exuding from him, one could mistake him for just an ordinary cultivator.

The thin Demon Race mber smiled, performing a courteous gesture.

“You flatter , sir. My na is Lexi Carr, a combination of my father’s and mother’s nas.”

“Lexi Carr, that doesn’t sound like a typical Demon Race na. It seems your parents did care for you quite a bit. I am Logan, and this is Miss Maya Leaf.”

Lexi Carr bowed courteously to them again.

“Young Master Logan, Miss Leaf.”

Maya Leaf nodded at him, not giving him the look of disgust she reserved for other mbers of the Demon Race. Perhaps it was because the gaze of this Demon Race mber nad Lexi Carr was pure and devoid of any licentious intent, making people unconsciously lower their guard.

It was rare for Maya Leaf to show such a favorable impression toward a Demon Race mber, and she realized not all Demons were as dreadful. Still, ones like Lexi Carr were exceptions.

She scrutinized him carefully before finally speaking asuredly.

“I’ve never seen a Demon Race mber like you before. You seem to not despise the Human race, and I also heard from your kin that you’ve been advocating for so kind of peace. No Demon Race mbers think highly of your views; that’s why they oppress and trample on you.”

Lexi Carr smiled, a bittersweet and forced expression on his face.

“You’ve caught . Alas, it’s to no avail. But no matter if I’m bullied or whatever else, I won’t change my thoughts.”

“Indeed, as you have heard, I have no wish to be enemies with the Human race. My desire is for the Demon and Human races to cease war in my lifeti. Even though it’s a remote possibility, it remains my life’s aspiration.”
