Chapter 571: Chapter 553: The Intruder

Luo Di rented a typical cheap Japanese apartnt, two stories, long and narrow.

The upper and lower floors were only connected by a tal staircase at the end, with just six units per floor.

They lived in the middle of the second floor,

Katayama’s snoring was so loud it could be heard in the next apartnt, yet it didn’t bother Luo Di; he could autonomously adjust his brain state to filter out this frequency.

Strangely enough,

Luo Di felt the urge to urinate in the middle of the night,

even though his body had no issues with kidney weakness or bladder capacity, as bodily waste could be directly filtered through Hell’s incineration.

But Luo Di didn’t find it odd; he got up subconsciously and went to the bathroom, urinating for a full two minutes.

Just as he was dragging his weary body back to bed to lie down again,

he suddenly caught a glimpse of the washstand he had just passed, noticing that his reflection in the mirror seed off.

Luo Di quickly returned to the washstand, looking carefully at himself in the mirror.

Sure enough, there was sothing beneath his eyelids, and when he opened them forcefully, he saw sothing resembling Gordian worms—more than one.

When these things were exposed to the air,

they actually began to quickly grow tal,

sharp blades sprouting from beneath Luo Di’s face, piercing through his eyeballs and extruding structures akin to tallic appendages, swinging wildly in the air.

Tock!

His tongue clicked,

the image disappeared,

and he abruptly opened his eyes—it had only been a dream, yet the stinging sensation on his face lingered.

The feeling of being pierced by tal was different from that in the Punishnt Room; it was a different type of tal, damp and cold, even more like a living organism.

Nonetheless,

Luo Di was more concerned about his tongue; he quickly stuck it out. As expected, the question mark had significantly faded.

“Has the corner isolation due to mutation weakened even Mr. Question Mark’s seal?

No matter, everything is needed now in this situation, even the danger warning of the tongue is useful. Is soone targeting us? Nearby or…”

Perception expanded.

But just as the gray began to spread out, Luo Di was stunned, because within the perception map obtained from the scan, a person over two ters tall was standing right behind him.

They were almost touching.

And the gray could not perate them, unable to gather any information.

“When!?”

Luo Di’s brain accelerated its operation,

deciding among options like counterattack, dodge, block, draw a weapon, switch stances, and quickly found the only answer.

Fully activate the [Undead] trait and leap towards the window to escape.

The other person managed to get behind him without a sound; whether it’s strength or speed, they’re definitely fast enough, any counteraction would be ineffectual.

The next second.

Bang!

The window shattered.

Luo Di successfully “escaped” outside, though his speed was too fast, not as if he jumped out himself, but as if he had been struck out.

Moreover, everything below his abdon was gone, his spine dangling in the air.

Clang!

His body smashed heavily against the wall of the road opposite, producing several cracks as it fell into the garbage pile.

“A curse? No, this is an entity, a very tall and heavy humanoid entity. The impact felt like tal striking, yet it’s so heavy, and its speed is astonishingly fast.

I need to get back quickly, Katayama is in danger.”

Supported by the undead effect,

Luo Di crawled with his hands first, his spine writhing.

On the way back to the rental, his lower body quickly reconstructed, just in ti to complete shaping downstairs.

With a jump, he contracted his body and perfectly re-entered the house through the broken window.

The mont of landing, the filmization domain unfolded!

Buzz!

The interior imdiately transford into the likeness of Crystal Lake,

Luo Di, wearing a Jason mask, tilted his head with a puzzled expression because the target was not encompassed within the domain.

“Escaped?”

Luo Di did not dissolve the filmization imdiately but approached Katayama’s location slowly, in a guarded state.

Within just a few seconds,

Katayama had already been completely disassembled, his head nowhere to be seen, his withered body scattered all around.

However, Luo Di could sense his vitality, he wasn’t dead.

“Katayama is sowhat like , his main consciousness doesn’t reside in the brain but in the snail shell evolved from his spine.

Even if the head is destroyed, it doesn’t matter.

Moreover, his vitality is astonishingly strong, the most outrageous part is that this guy… is still asleep?”

An eerie scene unfolded,

Katayama’s disassembled body, regardless of size, even re tiny pieces began to form vortex structures on the surface and soon snail shells erged.

Just like that,

various snails began to gather at the center, adhering to each other.

Even the discarded head crawled back from outside.

Gathering,

shedding their shells,

returning to the form of Katayama, remaining in a sleep state, undisturbed by being disassembled.

“This guy…”

Luo Di has already dissolved the filmization, confirming that the target had left, most likely due to being contaminated with pathogenic mucus while interacting with Katayama directly.

At that mont, Luo Di finally deeply felt the squad leader’s warning, Katayama was indeed special and dangerous.

By the beach.

Even in the early hours, there were so people here fishing,

a sowhat distorted white figure arrived, devoured the fishern alive, and then subrged into the sea, finally managing to rid itself of the diseases within.

He even had to perform surgery on himself, removing the snail shells embedded deep within his flesh.

Once done,

he found a closed small market by the beach, grabbed a few sodas from inside and gulped them down, then lay down inside to sleep.

When the owner ca to open the door the next day, they were instantly dragged in by sothing, not even managing to let out a scream before being completely reduced to the other’s breakfast.

Early morning at the rental.

“Wow~ I’m awake, finally slept enough.”

Katayama yawned as he slowly supported his dry, dehydrated body to rise.

He could clearly feel a heavy piece of iron within his body, continuously consuming his internal moisture.

He didn’t say anything more, knowing it was Luo Di’s doing. Though it was uncomfortable having it shoved inside, he chose to endure it silently.

But while washing up, he unexpectedly found healing scars on his arm, “Luo, did you attack ? My body seems to have been chopped into pieces while I was asleep.”

Luo Di, who had just woken up a mont ago, seed not fully rested and yawned several tis.

“An enemy ca last night, infiltrated the house. Most likely due to attacking you, it contracted a disease and had to leave.”

“So, aside from curses, there are other entities here, definitely different from a regular dungeon.

Next ti, if I fall into a deep sleep and need to be woken, you can draw circles on my back along the snail shell pattern, that will wake up.

By the way, Luo, did you get a look at what it looked like?”

“Two ters, very heavy, tallic feel, humanoid, stealthy, highly mobile, with a hint of the sea.”

“Then it’s certainly not sothing within a curse… are we going after last night’s attacker today or continue searching for the curse?”

“Continue looking for the house, I’ve already marked all the standalone houses on the map, filtering them one by one. Last night’s attacker will definitely find us again, there’s no need to actively seek them out.”

“Yeah.”

Not long after getting in the car, Katayama’s stomach growled.

Luo Di also felt sowhat hungry, so they decided to go for breakfast first. But the whole city had been affected by the fish, most places they found were fish-related.

They had no choice but to move further towards the outskirts of the city, away from the ocean.

Finally, they found a roadside tonkotsu ran shop.

The two sat inside the shop and waited for their ran.

A woman with a flustered expression suddenly rushed in, ordered a fish noodle soup with extra sashimi, then sat shivering in the corner.

Judging by the deep eye bags, it seed the woman hadn’t slept for a long ti, and she trembled slightly.

Although it was sumr, she wore an impenetrable coat.

Most importantly,

Luo Di caught a scent from her, a scent of a curse.

“Seems like today’s luck isn’t too bad…”
