Chapter 798: Chapter 786 Money Is Omnipotent
“The second check… Warning, computing power exceeds expectations, it is expected to abandon control permissions for one million Smart Terminals…”
This ti, the sudden alarm got all the workers busy again. For this new type of digital virus, no amount of computing power was enough, so they had to forsake so functionality.
“The third check…”
“Everything is normal!”
For the New Human Civilization’s digital virus control troop, all the soldiers were tense. Such large-scale military drills were rare opportunities.
Although it was only a Level 1 Civilization, the scale of a planet and the control of hundreds of billions of Smart Terminals were still not easy tasks!
In this situation, everyone was buried in their work, so naturally, they had no ti to concern themselves with what the Lainino people were thinking.
Zhang Yuan stared at the paraters on the screen for a long ti and nodded after confirming they were correct, “It looks a bit flawed at the mont, so terminals are experiencing compatibility issues, but it’s basically fine now.”
The military commander took a deep breath, “Then let’s proceed to the second step.”
After a while, a Diplomat in Power Armor appeared on the screen. He looked at the large screen and said loudly, “Friends of the Lainino Civilization, we are New Humans from afar! We have co here…”
“Aliens, aliens have appeared!”
“The end is near…”
“God, save us.”
Lainino people on the planet, upon really seeing aliens appear on the screen, hurriedly hid in their hos in panic. Streets and alleys were already deserted, except for so holess Beggars still taking drugs… These guys, addled from using too much of the C-class hormones, didn’t care about the presence of aliens. The plethora of hallucinations in their brains made them only care about the fleeting pleasure in front of them, even if they were to die the next mont.
So braver ones, a little curious, kept an eye on their phone screens from a distance. So this is what aliens look like, not ugly, but not cute either.
“…we are an alliance containing multiple species, with three War Stars and more than a hundred thousand spaceships, big and small.”
The screen then displayed images of other species and the three War Stars.
The Diplomat said, “Our purpose for coming here is to recruit partners who can progress together… We will not take aggressive action first, nor do we have any ill will!”
“Now, to show the goodwill of our entire Alliance, we plan to dispatch a series of Gold to the central governnt of Bada City on Lainino Planet, Laima City Sports Square, Hetian City Century Garden…”
The screens of Smart Terminals controlled by humans listed a series of text, in total 100 Gold delivery locations worldwide.
“Any Lainino citizen who goes to any of these one hundred locations can receive 1 kilogram of gold, limited to one ti per person! You can also inform your family and friends to collect the gold together.”
“We have placed a total of one hundred tons of gold, one million portions worldwide, to be given away for free, first-co, first-served.”
“???”
“What’s going on?”
“Gold???”
Nearly all the Laininos watching the broadcast were deep in confusion…
Initially discovering that aliens truly had arrived, their hearts filled with fear, curiosity, and absurdity. This science fiction scenario had suddenly beco reality, and even the bravest white-furred gorillas were cautious.
Suddenly hearing about the distribution of gold, their minds couldn’t quite grasp the concept.
Why were aliens suddenly delivering gold, was it real? Why?
Gold, though not the universal currency in this world, was still quite valuable and an excellent collectible and jewelry, easy to sell.
The entire world seed to fall into a silent shock…
Everyone was pondering, what was going on, whether the aliens hid unexpected traps, and whether any white-furred gorillas were willing to be Pioneers. But restricted by all the Smart Terminals being controlled by humans, they couldn’t even discuss it on the internet.
Amidst this hesitation, the humans above the planet began a patient wait, knowing full well from their understanding of Lainino Civilization that there would certainly be Pioneers!
So Laininos, who were at the municipal governnt offices, were the first to see a large spaceship parked on the square—apparently an alien gold distribution center.
One kilogram of gold was quite a lot, so poor white-furred gorillas might need to save up for several years without eating or drinking to accumulate such wealth—and that’s if they went without eating or drinking, considering most Lainino people lived paycheck to paycheck, endorsing consurism, and didn’t save a penny in their pockets!
Great rewards encourage the brave, and soon so young individuals gathered the courage and headed towards the large spaceship, their approach slow.
“Kid, be careful! There are aliens outside!”
“You’ll get snatched up by the aliens!”
“Don’t go!”
The guy hesitated slightly but finally resolved to walk outside…
Because he had a huge gambling debt, he desperately needed so funds to pay off his debts! If he didn’t repay soon, he’d have to file for bankruptcy!
Without money, what’s the difference between that and being dead?
He needed money, he craved it!
Halfway to his destination, he saw at the doorway of the spaceship, a cylindrical robot with several chanical arms. On the table behind it, stacks and stacks of gold bars were laid out!
The sparkling gold almost blinded his red eyes!
“It’s real!”
He was all in!
For these poor folks, what did it matter if they were captured by aliens? It’s a death either way! Death without money was still death!
The white-haired gorilla at the front suppressed his fear and stepped forward. The robot scanned him and, without saying anything, handed him a gold bar.
“The New Human Civilization is distributing gold for free. There are 9,999 pieces remaining at this distribution point.”
“That’s it?”
His heart surged with wild euphoria!
Looking down at the 1-kilogram gold bar, he realized it wasn’t very big – roughly as thick as a finger but felt weighty in hand. It was engraved with so exquisite patterns and letters in a strange script.
Regardless, the weight alone suggested it was very likely gold!
Ordinary tals couldn’t be this heavy!
“I’m going to be rich!”
Realizing what had happened, the guy took to his heels to escape, fearing others would snatch his gold. He even planned to summon all his relatives to grab a share. How much money this was!
Pies were falling from the sky!
The bystanders, the Lainino people, exchanged confused looks, not understanding why this man ran off after getting the gold.
So of the more astute ones started pushing their way to the front, approaching the robot with quivering hearts to receive gold, then followed suit in fleeing.
“9998”
“9997”
This damn robot announced each allocation of gold loudly as if afraid others wouldn’t hear.
Where there’s one, there’s two; where there’s two, there’s three!
“Only 9,000 left, they’re going to run out soon!”
A frenzied scramble broke out on the plaza, and within minutes, even the governnt workers joined the fray. Why bother working? Just grabbing one gold bar was worth years of labor!
A few minutes later, all the aunts and uncles appeared; although each Lainino person could only get one piece, their friends and relatives could do so as well.
Humans, of course, weren’t just sitting idly by, but were live streaming this spectacle to audiences around the world.
“How could they take gold from aliens, they are shaless Lainino cheats!”
“I want gold too, why is there no distribution point here!”
“…Everyone, don’t go, the aliens have no good intentions! Those who grab the gold are done for!”
