Chapter 781: Chapter 769: Affiliated Race?

Indeed, civilizations assimilated by Aleph are unlikely to be leisurely hunting Insects here. Therefore, once overall safety was confird, the scouts up front comnced their next set of actions.

The satellite system secretly launched by Humans easily cracked the network system of the Lainino Civilization, translated their most popular language, and gleaned so social data.

Only after reconfirming the accuracy of this data and considering the civilization’s threat level to be extrely low, it was relayed to the rear.

A routine diplomatic eting took place at the Central Command Center of the Mountain and Sea.

“A Sinking Civilization that has entered the interstellar era, huh…” Zhang Yuan looked over the information at hand and sighed, “They’re holding a global contest for hunting Insects? How barbaric!”

However, he then shook his head; Humans couldn’t possibly expect Aliens to abide by their moral system. Hunting Insects wasn’t all that different from Humans hunting tigers and elephants, though Humans no longer engaged in such practices. Yet, so civilizations still enjoyed such sports.

“Actually, many civilizations, after inventing Controlled Nuclear Fusion Technology, gradually lose their drive to progress. Because Controlled Nuclear Fusion ans almost infinite energy, which would bring about a productivity revolution and manifold increase in production capacity.”

But technological advancents beyond that point seed increasingly difficult.

In a free-market environnt, production capacity far exceeding demand could lead to economic crises.

Hence, a common practice among civilizations was to encourage consurism, celebrate holidays, and expand tertiary industries like Insect hunting to enrich the spiritual activities of their populace.

Taking holidays was certainly beneficial, on one hand, it could enhance the happiness of the populace, and on the other, stimulate dostic demand and promote consumption. Under a capitalist system, individual needs beco the driving force of economic growth, but how much can individual needs grow? Personal needs are always limited, only the needs of a civilization are limitless.

However, in Cosmic Sociology, the vast majority of civilizations advocating excessive individual freedom fail to form sufficient social cohesion to generate further advanced civilizational needs, and this marks the first step toward becoming Sinners.

Moreover, prolonged holidays and consurism surely entail more problems, such as increasing laziness at a civilizational level and slower technological developnt, etc.

“Ladies and gentlen, the primary data regarding this Alien Civilization is now available here. This is the first interstellar civilization we’ve encountered in many years, and our populace even wants to travel above this Planet to experience different cultural landscapes… This issue can be resolved through trade.”

“This civilization, when transliterated, shall be temporarily called the Lainino Civilization. Their technological level is equivalent to our 22nd century’s end or 23rd century’s start, at the standard of a Level 1 Interstellar Civilization. They haven’t developed super spaceships capable of interstellar travel between Constant Stars, their only interstellar capability is limited within their Planet System.”

“Oh, and they don’t have a Space Elevator, aning they haven’t mastered mass production of nanomaterials. In such a state of technology, theoretically, there is nothing worth trading with us…”

Zhang Yuan nodded; Science Material is a fundantal field, and a civilization that has yet to master nanomaterials in a mature manner has an extrely low probability of developing technology unknown to Humans.

The staff mber in the front continued, “The red companion star nearby has huge oceans, an abundance of forests, and plains. Insect life-forms on this planet have evolved quite well, but it seems no Wise Species has erged. These Insects have beco the entertainnt hunting grounds for the Lainino people.”

“As for whether these Insects are of research value, it is too early to say… However, according to the Lainino Civilization’s network introduction, so Insects eaten can supplent collagen, serving beauty and skincare purposes; others can boost ‘Yang’ energy and increase lifespan… The Insects are priced highly.”

“In any case, Alien Insect products are extrely popular, becoming a mass health product.”

“We cannot ascertain whether these claims are genuine Science, or if they are purely fabricated, a deceitful sche purely to make money.”

The screen displayed a series of insect photos, so elongated, so bristling with spikes, and others with forelimbs resembling scythes…

Insect enthusiasts were greatly excited by these photos. Zhang Yuan noticed that so well-inford civilians had already started leaving ssages on the internet.

“I want to eat, I want to replenish my yang energy!”

“Aoow!”

“Such beautiful insects!”

Although Zhang Yuan couldn’t understand the aesthetic tastes of these insect enthusiasts, he still clapped a few tis to show he could understand.

At that mont, Captain Ms. Feng cleared her throat and said, “Ahem, ladies and gentlen, back to the matter at hand… Let’s not think about the nutritional content of those insects for now.”

“In our investigation, most Lainino people are addicted to electronic hormones, which are similar to those of the Half-sphere Civilization. They stimulate the brain’s nerves with microcurrents to produce illusions and gain pleasure… However, they use electronic hormones with absolutely no restraint. At least over 80% of the population has used this stuff, and unlike the Half-sphere people, they aren’t keeping it under control, so they’re practically hopeless.”

Electronic hormones are extrely dangerous Black Technology, frankly speaking, they have more drawbacks than benefits.

In the interstellar trading market, people had seen this technology as well and had even traded for so, but had never used it.

Everyone in attendance frowned. This kind of Sinking Civilization could not be considered as a vassal race; even if they voluntarily sought to join, humans wouldn’t want them.

Moreover, the value of the investigation wasn’t high. A bunch of drug addicts, whether dead or alive, had little to do with humans.

“If the Half-sphere Civilization is interested, perhaps we could give it so thought…”

However, it was quite clear that the Half-sphere people were busy setting their own new policies and had no interest in dealing with the Lainino people. There were countless Sinking Civilizations, each with its own disparities.

Zhang Yuan expressed his doubts, “If the majority of Lainino people are addicted to electronic hormones, and there’s no workforce to carry out labor and research, won’t their technology gradually decline?”

The expert in charge of the investigation explained, “Oh, it’s like this; not the entire population is addicted to pleasure. They still have a certain working population, and 20% of the workforce is enough. This type of electronic hormone is divided into A, B, and C categories, where Category A and B do not cause significant brain damage, only Category C has severe consequences.”

“Moreover, these substances bring different types of pleasure, and thus are priced differently, which to so extent can stimulate work ethic.”

“Categories?”

The expert explained for a while before everyone finally understood the gist.

So electronic hormones could satisfy the desire for fullness, bringing a level of pleasure comparable to eating a splendid feast.

This category of product was widely used among the lower classes, affordable, with a limited addictive potential, its biggest benefit being that even consuming just nutrition cream evoked the sensation of enjoying a feast of delicacies. Nutrition cream is naturally low-priced and nutritionally rich, and each Lainino person grew plump and strong under its nourishnt.
