Chapter 761: Chapter 759: Entering the Real World
Zhang Yuan saw a large group of Pangolins, their expressions mixed with joy and reluctance, and said, “My friends from the Gliese Civilization, those selected will join our Alliance.”
“In this selection examination, those who weren’t chosen need not be too saddened, for there will be many more opportunities in the future.”
“We will return here in fifteen years to select more outstanding talents. I hope everyone can strive to learn during this ti and further appreciate the beauty of mathematics.”
“At the sa ti, we will provide more rewards to outstanding educators who are willing to stay here and train the next generation. It is because of your decision to stay that the mathematical culture of the Gliese Civilization can continue. Here, we give our utmost appreciation and support.”
Zhang Yuan was very polite to these Pangolins; in fact, anyone willing to devote their life to pursuing truth deserved respect, regardless of the era they lived in or whether it was developed. People were willing to treat them as equals.
After the prizes were distributed, all the Pangolins beca overjoyed. Each Glizerian who participated in the exam received so small prizes—learning tools like compasses, rulers, or items like clothes, pants, candies, and the like.
Such small items delighted them to no end.
“What a group of simple creatures.”
Zhang Yuan sighed. Though the joining of these thirty to forty thousand Glizerians had a negligible impact on the whole Alliance, it was at least a good start.
He turned to a staff mber and instructed, “Let them say their final farewells now. We’ll co back in a month to take them.”
“In the real world, we need to clone so Pseudo-humans… Strive to have these Pangolins appear in the real world within a month.”
The so-called Pseudo-humans were “pseudo life forms” replicated in a very short ti using rapid cloning technology.
They were structurally identical to real life forms; the only difference was that due to rapid growth, a process that should have taken decades was accelerated to just one month.
The lack of a sufficient growth period resulted in a chaotic brain unable to form a self will, making these Pseudo-humans no different from vegetative humans.
Experts from the Unreal Laboratory had once considered installing chips in the brains of “Pseudo-humans” to fabricate a personality so that the “Pseudo-humans” could perform simple tasks.
But on second thought, it seed more troubleso than simply using robots, and mass producing Pseudo-humans could lead to strong public resistance. Even interstellar citizens would be scared seeing a Pseudo-human with a physical body but no personality.
Moreover, like real life forms, Pseudo-humans required food, breath, and tabolism, making them not as straightforward as robots.
However, they proved to be useful now; these rapidly generated Pseudo-humans could well replicate life forms in the Virtual World, saving a lot of ti.
In fact, the return of the Transcendents could also utilize this “Pseudo-human technology,” avoiding the need to go through the initial decade-plus blank period. However, due to considerable public opposition, this plan had been shelved for now…
With careful preparation by the Unreal Laboratory, after a month, around thirty-six thousand Pangolins bid farewell to each other; even those with old grudges made ands.
“Goodbye, farewell!
“Go discover the new world!”
“Goodbye, may your research go smoothly!”
“Hope there will be a chance to et in the future. We will also co next ti for the selection.”
“Let’s have one last fight!”
Really, many Pangolins started brawling with each other; perhaps this was another special way they expressed their friendship. Thus, they left their holand, filled with fiery enthusiasm, embarking on this entirely new world to pursue the truth…
Milk-white lighting, spacious surroundings.
Cardofo, one of the few Great Mathematicians of the Gleize Civilization.
The mont he opened his eyes, he was stunned on the spot. At the front of the room there was a large screen scrolling through everyone’s personal information, on the right another screen displayed the Alliance’s internal laws and notices, and there was a small Pangolin figure moving about, that very much suited his taste.
They had never seen such strange screens that could display text before.
“An individual has awakened.”
“Now, line up and register your identities.”
An hour later, all the Glizerians had awoken, and several staff mbers distributed communication devices to them and led them to a designated living area.
In this unfamiliar environnt, these Glizerians were quite well-behaved, not daring to make a fuss. Walking lightly, they could accidentally bump into the ceiling.
A staff mber specifically responsible for education approached them and spoke a few words to a leader. Seeing a familiar face made these Pangolins slightly more relaxed.
“Dear Glizerian friends, the current environnt is a low-gravity environnt, please quickly find your seats, sit down, and fasten your seat belts.”
Everything was digitized, these clumsy talkers, who were usually talkative, were now utterly silent. They seed a bit uncomfortable in the low-gravity environnt and were fascinated by the communication devices they held in their hands. Curiosity and fear intertwined, creating indescribable emotions.
The communication devices could be worn on the wrist, capable of making calls and receiving so internet information; they didn’t have many features but were durable and had a standby ti of up to 30 days.
When the orbital train passed by a glass walkway, they were again amazed and fascinated.
Those large spaceports working on the surface of the planet, each one hundreds of kiloters high, the operations of various big and small robotic arms, along with the coming and going spaceships, were overwhelmingly impressive to the Pangolins.
So much so that these Pangolins began to rub their eyes non-stop, unable to even find words to express their astonishnt, as if they had entered an incomprehensible Magic World.
“Here, there are so basic benefits, but there are many things that you need to pay for, you already understand the concept of economics, so you must not only strive to survive but strive to live better. Most goods and services can be purchased with Alliance Coins.”
“And finding suitable job positions, or successfully starting your own business, can earn you Alliance Currency.”
The female staff mber responsible for education encouraged: “All of this is brought about by Science and knowledge, everything has its underlying principles. You would be able to learn these fundantal principles in school.”
“So online education is free, and so education requires you to organize it yourself, or pay to access it.”
Ten minutes later, they arrived at a living area suitable for the gravity conditions. Since they were accustod to living underground, these Pangolins liked narrow environnts and disliked spacious places, so their living quarters were relatively small.
On the periphery of the residential area, there was a large glass cover that allowed them to see a bright “Sun” hanging in the sky, a fusion lamp mimicking the sun, used to cultivate basic plants and provide fundantal energy for the ecosystem.
The digestive bacteria in the bodies of the Pangolins had been modified by humans, so their diet had also been modified. These plants, now tastier, beca a better indulgence.
The basic necessities like electricity, water, and habitat were supplied for free for the first twenty years, giving these Pangolins a period to adapt. However, eventually, even the basic necessities would involve a minimal fee.
Every civilization should demonstrate its value, and these Pangolins, despite their close relations with humans, were no exception.
