A few days later, Zhang Yuan and his companions welcod a civilization expedition team that had rushed over from the rear.

The number of people in the expedition team wasn’t large, roughly five hundred, but each individual occupied a high position in civilization and was an expert in their field. If these mbers of the New Human Civilization were wiped out in one swoop, it would be a considerable loss for the new humans.

Of course, this probability was not large.

Because detaining so many New Human high-level mbers did not benefit the Half-sphere Civilization and would only stir up conflict for no reason, any sensible civilization would not do so.

After everyone had rested well, the Half-sphere Civilization began leading the humans to explore their civilization.

As a mber of the expedition team, Zhang Yuan stood on top of a War Star of the Half-sphere Civilization and visited various facilities, feeling a strange illusion that "this civilization is even more powerful than ours."

This feeling was very subtle...

A civilization with a sowhat neurotic mind, that had not been so fortunate since ancient tis, had stumbled to reach the present day, which was not easy.

The Half-sphere Civilization had deeply cultivated this War Star for more than ten thousand years, and all the basic facilities were basically completed, not like the War Stars of the New Human Civilization, which were only half-constructed.

Moreover, the Half-sphere people’s bionic organs could fully adapt to this low-gravity environnt, eliminating the need for cumberso centrifugal wheels to simulate gravity, which to so extent reduced the complexity of the War Star’s design.

Surrounding Half-sphere people, moving fast in the low-gravity environnt, walked much faster than humans, who bounced as they walked. So Half-sphere people cast curious glances when they saw the human expedition team.

"Their efficiency of movent in low gravity is higher than humans, and they can even move more than 20 ters per second."

One of the human generals paused before saying, "...Our soldiers are testing a body coordination chip, controlled by an internal microcomputer, which manages muscle nerve exertion to adapt to the low gravity."

Zhang Yuan nodded and said, "I’m aware of this project. But no matter how you control it, human muscles are still adapted to Earth’s gravity, which cannot compare to genuine bionic devices... you can’t reach speeds of 20 ters per second. Human bodies always have their limitations."

"If we were to design bionic soldiers..."

"There’s no need for that," the general said. "In a real fight, whether you are bionic or not doesn’t matter. Being fast doesn’t an you can win."

"Let’s part ways here."

"Alright, goodbye!"

The entire expedition team was divided into ten teams, each heading to different areas for exploration, with Zhang Yuan leading one of the teams.

They were received by a Half-sphere leader nad "Hera," strictly speaking, her na was Hera Atkelas 11679D3, a female biological entity.

The digits "11679D3" following her na represented her cloning number.

However, in this era, Half-sphere people didn’t really differentiate genders anymore, their desire to reproduce was extrely low, and only a very small number of individuals ford families. However, these families did not reproduce. The houses of civilization level relied entirely on cloning technology, using a next-generation nurturing system sowhat similar to the public maintenance system of humans.

The elevator slowly descended, Hera led the batch of human inspectors, visiting an underground city inhabited by the Half-sphere people.

The entire city had a cold color tone, with pale blue lighting and silver-white flooring, filled with a tallic feel.

Various bullet-shaped vehicles moved back and forth.

This was a city specifically responsible for the developnt of information software.

Zhang Yuan noticed that the architectural aesthetics of the Half-sphere people weren’t much different from humans; they also preferred spacious environnts. Occasionally, he could spot green and red decorations, which upon closer inspection, turned out to be fake plastic-like plants, not alive at all.

This city was very modernized, yet aside from the passing Half-sphere people, there were no other animals or plants, giving it a sowhat lifeless appearance.

This situation was sowhat understandable, given that this civilization had abandoned everything from their Mother Star due to a biochemical disaster; they didn’t even need to breathe anymore. The city was entirely under vacuum conditions, which simplified maintenance considerably.

Of course, the absence of air ant there was no sound, so they were able to communicate directly through electromagnetic waves, using a device similar to headphones to receive the waves and transmit virtualized sounds directly into their minds.

Zhang Yuan saw a glass room that seed to have air pressure; it was probably so kind of special operation room.

The Half-sphere Leader, Hera, stated, "... our civilization’s population has never been large. Currently, the A-class population is approximately 2,354 people, the B-class population is 116,984 people, the C-class population is 3,569,332 people, and the D-class population is 203,698,221 people. Because genetic mory transfer has always had a low success rate, the vast majority are D-class individuals."

Only two hundred million people?

Zhang Yuan was intrigued, "If I may be so bold to ask, what does this population classification an?"

Hera answered, "It refers to the inheritance of the ancestors’ mories. Initially, all infants are infused with a small amount of mory—all are D-class, inheriting basic worldviews and values from ancestors. In our civilization, there are a total of 366 major vocational directions... The professional ethics and values of all individuals are inherited through mory infusion."

"If this step cannot be completed, these infants will lose their citizen status in the Half-sphere Civilization..."

"After reaching adulthood, each person needs to work for five hundred to a thousand years, before they can choose to inherit more mories, upgrade their population class, and engage in more important tasks... Of course, this step is very dangerous, and one might beco an idiot."

"Following this, after working for 2,000 years and becoming the most elite talents, they can then choose to inherit A-class mories."

The lives of Half-sphere people were very long; they had just one brain, which was simple to maintain, often staying alive for three to five thousand years wasn’t a problem; however, most people faced a threshold at the age of two thousand. Because during the A-class mory infusion, most would literally beco idiots and then die.

Yet, these Half-sphere people still followed this path unhesitatingly, much like fervent religious rituals.

Hera sighed, "Therefore, every high-class individual started as a low-class one. Many are eliminated during the process."

Being and A-class herself, she was well aware of the brutal interdiate processes.

Hera then took them to visit what they called the ’nursery’, which in reality was a room full of cloned brains. This nursery looked like sothing out of a human science fiction novel, an experint lab of a mad scientist.

Inside were cloned brains, resembling reddish-brown octopuses, equipped with Bionic devices to simulate infant perceptions.

The culture dishes sotis vibrated to mimic a natural womb.

The room was filled with so gases that carried sound; Zhang Yuan heard so gibberish alien language, possibly robots telling stories to these "fetuses."

This strange induction differentiation technology sotis failed, leading to the developnt of unwanted organ tissues.

Specialized robots tasked with this would detect anomalies promptly and dispose of any excess tissues.

"Life really is resilient... To survive with just a head."

Although Zhang Yuan felt slightly uncomfortable, he didn’t harbor any dislike for them.

This civilization had faced many more disasters than humanity, hence their gradual evolution into their current state. History chose their path forward, and there was nothing to dislike about that.

In that nursery, a batch of infant brains had just matured. Robots gently removed them, skillfully attached more Bionic devices, and then attached the torso and limbs—a synthetic baby was thus created.
