Chapter 690: Chapter 687: Super Ancient Relic

“Can the legacy of the previous epoch’s civilization catapult the economy and science to new heights?” Zhang Yuan mused with an upbeat mood as he turned to Mr. Li Zhendong, who was sitting next to him.

Zhang Yuan was actually a rather philanthropic person. He relished witnessing the rise of a civilization, rather than its decline, even if that civilization had nothing to do with him financially.

Deep down in his heart, he wished for intelligent life in the universe to have a better living standard. When encountering primitive natives, if it was within his power to offer help, he would try to lend a hand. Concepts like the bizarre environntal ideologies of the Green Star Civilization simply lacked taste…

After pondering for a mont, Li Zhendong replied, “No! re knowledge might be useless. The knowledge legacy from the First Epoch is the treasure of a 0.9-level civilization, which is too advanced for them. For a feudal dynasty with only basic handicrafts, the difficulty of leaping directly to the skies is indeed quite substantial…”

The Duqiu Civilization from the First Epoch, although it never ventured beyond its own planet, had various fields of knowledge that could not be compared with a civilization that had not yet undergone its first industrial revolution. To utilize this knowledge well was an imnse challenge.

It was like a plane suddenly ti-traveling to the Great Qing Dynasty; even if you gave the Qing Dynasty people the complete blueprints and an original prototype for them to emulate, their skilled craftsn would never manage to replicate it. The gap was just too vast.

Li Zhendong continued, “Industrialization isn’t so simple. Out of all the countries on Earth, only a few have achieved industrialization. Why haven’t the majority completed it? There must be deeper underlying reasons.”

“These countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin Arica can also obtain a wealth of knowledge from the internet. All this knowledge is free, but they still lack sufficient industrial capacity… Industrialization isn’t just about acquiring a few machines; it’s a complete process from raw materials to the final product. It involves everything from basic education to infrastructure—it’s a transformation of the entire societal operational model.”

“Therefore, for the industrialization of Half-sphere Civilization to take off, the knowledge unearthed through archaeology is important, but a social system is even more crucial… Without a strong system to consolidate human and material resources, even if knowledge is acquired, it cannot be applied.”

Zhang Yuan nodded in agreent with Li Zhendong’s view, “So, we can predict that internal conflicts will not be few in this civilization. They must undergo internal wars and exploit their own kind to acquire wealth.”

“It shares a certain similarity with our own developntal course.”

There are four main points to industrialization. The first is knowledge, which the Half-sphere Civilization has now received for free, skipping much trial and error—no problem there.

The second is the market. The market of the Half-sphere Civilization is not yet mature, and the needs of the people are strong. But there’s an issue: the people are poor, teeming with demands yet penniless.

The third is raw materials. Industry needs a vast amount of primary raw materials, from minerals to agricultural produce, with fossil fuels being the most vital. This is a major headache and can only be reluctantly replaced with charcoal.

Using plant dyes suggests a massive cost overhead, making this step very difficult!

The fourth is initial capital, which is about vast amounts of labor and material resources.

Taking Earth Civilization as an example, there are two ways to accumulate capital: established capitalist powerhouses accumulate capital through plundering external resources, while certain Eastern countries, unable to plunder externally, have to sacrifice internal interests, mobilize politically, and rely on high accumulation and low consumption to amass initial capital.

The Half-sphere people won’t escape this law either—they’ll either exploit internally or plunder externally.

So, after the nobles gathered the treasure, they suddenly beca helplessly stunned. ‘Treasure’ requirents were too high, though the prospects were alluring—flying iron birds, iron boxes that could send voices over thousands of miles, and strange devices that allowed tiny figures to move inside.

Truly tempting, but how could the Half-sphere people, who lacked even a single machine tool, possibly accomplish this task?

Then, this country that spent a fortune collecting antiques… fell to an invasion by foreign enemies.

Seeing this part of history, although it was an expected outco, the feeling it evoked was uncomfortably like a fishbone stuck in the throat…

Zhang Yuan blinked and quickly flipped through several pages, skipping the series of complex historical events.

These historical events seed fascinating — various spectacular wars, heroic epics — but in the end, they could be sumd up in one sentence: Capital accumulation over thousands of years.

A person of great talent and strategy established an empire, which completed the first phase of industrialization through external plunder and annexed a large amount of surrounding territory.

After this great figure died, the empire was quickly overthrown, yet the industrial accumulations that were left behind still existed.

Then another great figure arose, establishing another empire, continuing with the subsequent phases of industrialization…

Such capital accumulation was a very cruel affair, and there were even so regressions. However, the benefits of industrialization were too significant. The low-priced industrial products could sustain a larger population and yielded a more potent war capability. Once completed, it could form a positive feedback loop!

As long as the rulers were not foolish, they would not abandon this path. The archeological records clearly docunted the grand prospects of industrialization. Moreover, as ti went on, the productivity of the Half-sphere people genuinely advanced.

Thus, the cycle repeated over thousands of years. The gradual accumulation of the ans of production led to the appearance of relatively good infrastructure in so wealthy nations of the Half-sphere Civilization, with technology beginning to accelerate, and everything started to thrive and flourish.

Especially with the arrival of hydroelectric and wind power stations, this civilization began to address its power shortage issues.

With enough electricity available, more minerals could be slted, and more advanced industries could be developed.

And so, the Half-sphere Civilization finally entered an era of rapid developnt. They followed the old path of the First Epoch, but their technological trajectory was skewed. The First Epoch, addicted to indulgence, the Duqiu Civilization excelled in virtual VR gas, signifying profound understanding of the brain. Even if the Half-sphere Civilization could not directly apply this knowledge, it served as an excellent reference.

In the pursuit of more energy, the Half-sphere people began to lay out solar panels across the planet’s surface…

If the Green Star Civilization witnessed this sight, they would probably be quite aggrieved, for more and more “psoriasis patches” were growing on the planet.

The fact is, most civilizations looking to develop often have to sacrifice the natural environnt in return.

The prosperity of one Wise Species was likely to doom the fate of other species.

But luckily, by then, the Green Star Civilization might have long forgotten about this or might have been wiped out altogether. They never returned and had no idea that beautiful Karena Star had birthed another wise civilization…

This era of rapid technological progress continued until so Half-sphere Explorers dug out the super-ancient relics of the First Epoch’s Wise Species, the “Duqiu Civilization,” in the permanent frozen zones of the planet’s South and North Pole, reaching the pinnacle!
