Benefiting from an excellent education model, the values of the young generation in this era were still quite normal, and they generally agreed with the idea that "civilization needs to progress."
Of course, this value system was rely a very superficial objective impression, sothing imposed on them by society through education, a kind of social inertia.
This set of values was akin to those during Earth’s period, like "one must not be a traitor," "one must not profit from national calamities," "one must not be a collaborator" and so on, which may not withstand the test of significant setbacks. People would change continuously with the environnt.
Regarding this, the upper echelons of the new humans were well aware and did not expect too much.
So among the student groups, many felt that their spiritual will could not match that of the previous generations. After all, life was beautiful now, and they didn’t have much in the way of ideas. If soone else had ideas, then following their pattern would be fine too.
Sister Xiaoqing laughed and said, "That’s right, it seems to make sense. I believe the New Human Governnt will be able to choose the right path."
"So have you ever considered studying in this direction..."
"No."
These boys and girls couldn’t help but blush; the path of a Level 5 Civilization was too grand a topic for them.
There was such a social investigation report stating that the young generation was much more prone to shyness than before, at least more than double the previous rate!
This report worried nurous scientific research teams, and they imdiately conducted in-depth investigations. The final result confird that the survey did not exaggerate the facts and was correct.
As to why this was the case, the reasons were quite complex. It might have been so influence from Magnetic Field Perception, but it was more likely because of the Personal Intelligence. With Personal Intelligence, humans beca much more adept at noticing details, aning they were good at reading others’ expressions and body language...
For example, seeing soone they liked, their body temperature would increase, and their pupils would dilate... Many physiological responses could not be hidden.
Thus, as lies beca more easily detectable, people generally beca shyer, but also more sincere and straightforward than before.
Following a series of calculations, the research group believed its positive effects outweighed the negative effects, so they did not interfere further.
A chubby boy suddenly said, "Actually, my dream is just to lie in bed like a salted fish, play gas, and eat junk food, but I know that isn’t good. If everyone did that, society would collapse imdiately. So, we can only rely on the leaders to save us... Whatever the leaders say to change in our thoughts, that’s what we’ll change. That’s all I can do."
Everyone burst into laughter... How should one put it? Actually, most people felt the sa; who wouldn’t want to be a salted fish?
A girl said, "Xia Qiangqiang, if you really had to change your way of thinking, you’d definitely be the first to run away!"
"That’s absolutely impossible!" This boy nad Xia Qiangqiang retorted vehently, "I will definitely cooperate!"
Xiaoqing said, "Alright, alright, you should seriously experience the upcoming practical class... After all these years, you only get one chance. Maybe it will change so of your ideas and make you more mature."
As a mber of the new generation, opening their eyes to this world ant they were fundantally different from the original humans. Brain enhancents, Sixth Sense, Personal Intelligence, and various other new technologies installed in their heads made these new generations very different from traditional humans.
They could be considered a very lucky bunch, not feeling any external pressure at all, and with no internal pressure to speak of, they could freely choose their work. As long as they weren’t Sinners, everything was manageable.
In their view, the world "pulsated," composed of various numbers. Jiang Yifan’s stride was 93 centiters, his favorite girl had a 75B bust, 100 ters sprint took him 12.3 seconds, and the instantaneous speed of that spaceship was as fast as 129 ters per second...
These numbers could be obtained very simply by eye asurent.
Thanks to a sharp increase in "perception," they had basically completed the knowledge of Earth People University by middle school—a very simple matter indeed.
Human values would fluctuate with the environnt in which they grew, and this environnt was divided into macro and micro environnts.
The macro environnt referred to the major historical events encountered by society as a whole, events that could bring huge ideological shocks to people.
Microenvironnts are the small events individuals encounter, and over ti, through education, social interaction, and a variety of such minor affairs, one slowly molds their values.
Both of these constructs are challenging to replicate.
Hence, each generation has its era’s distinctive characteristics, and the governnt must avoid the ergence of a "failed generation" as much as possible while also striving to improve the quality of the populace.
As they chatted on, they eventually reached their final destination.
There was one last important practical task to do, which was—experiencing the Virtual World, a history class.
The "Pangu Brain" was located at the very heart of the Mountain and Sea Battle Star, which those who were not key personnel of the Unreal Laboratory could hardly ever see. However, once connected to the P3 level of the interconnected network, one could experience various virtual worlds.
This was simply a regular large classroom designated for historical education, with several staff mbers already waiting inside.
Upon seeing the students, the staff carefully checked their access permissions before leading them into a large room filled with nurous silver-white box-like devices that resembled hibernation chambers.
"The history of humankind is what we’ll be studying next, to understand the stories that once unfolded among us," said a bespectacled professor.
"Is everyone ready?"
"Ready!" Jiang Yifan and others shouted in unison, quivering with excitent that could not be contained.
This type of Virtual World history lesson was far more interesting than studying in a thodical fashion from textbooks! All seniors strongly recomnded it, and they all had a strange smile on their faces.
"Since you’re ready, lie down in these capsules, everyone. The course will last two weeks, and you’ll need to be hooked up to the life support system."
Soon, everyone lay inside the devices, closed their eyes, and entered the Virtual World.
Senior Sister Xiaoqing chatted rrily with a few staff mbers; one of them was her senior: "They’re going to have a tough ti, aren’t they? Entering so joyfully, only to co out downcast."
"Of course, that’s how everyone goes through it."
"But, to this day, I still cherish such classes—the firsthand experiences are utterly different from what’s learned from textbooks."
"After we die, we might enter all sorts of strange worlds... Our world is the best."
"It really isn’t easy to want to co back."
This course was also a new type of educational thod, where one didn’t just learn about history but... about the past hardships experienced.
...
In a small room filled with blue luminescence, Professor Ma saw all the students enter the Virtual World and smiled, "All the students are adults this year and possess a certain level of psychological resilience."
"Next, you will witness scenes that truly existed in history, seen with your eyes and touched with your hands."
"In the past, there were no such abundant material resources, no advanced technologies like auxiliary brains, so your level of Intelligence will revert to its innate standard."
"The content you will learn about involves the Middle Ages in Europe, where you now all possess your own commoner identities. You will live here for two days, uncovering more historical truths... This particular scenario contains no significant historical events, only peaceful daily life."
What a fascinating journey through history!
The feeling is akin to playing a ga; the youngsters widen their eyes in anticipation, especially the girls, whose minds conjure images of beautiful castles, ticulously dressed nobles, knights in armor proposing to princesses...
