Chapter 526: Chapter 524: Ten Years

Epoch 6305.

The ten years agreed upon with the Tos Civilization had quickly passed. Humanity’s two Mother Ships, “Kunlun Mountain” and “Radiant Galaxy,” were stationed above a Planet Fortress nad “Karlavia.”

The mass of this Planet Fortress was about 20% of the Moon’s, not particularly large for a War Star.

Even so, the human Mother Ships still couldn’t land directly and harshly on the surface because they were too enormous. To reduce their own weight, their outermost layers were thin aerogel structures, similar to balloons. They were never designed with the intention of staying on the ground.

However, orbiting the planet at a low altitude posed no problem.

The two Mother Ships stayed at the Starry Sky Port, about 80 kiloters above the ground, slowly rotating. The structure of this Starry Sky Port was also quite peculiar; since the Planet Fortress itself didn’t rotate, it couldn’t use centrifugal force to counteract gravity like conventional Space Elevators.

It was a proper steel structure and a moving Space Elevator at that.

Attached to the bottom of the Starry Sky Port was a super-sized global rail track, and the entire Space Elevator traveled along this track at high speed. The speed of its travel was just enough to escape the planet’s gravitational pull, making the entire Starry Sky Port appear to be floating.

From the ground looking up, the two Mother Ships looked like two large floating islands.

Oh, not just two floating islands, but eight!

There were a total of six Mother Ships belonging to the Tos Civilization, all orbiting the planet just like the others.

When the ti ca, all these Mother Ships would be enveloped in curvature bubbles and could be taken away along with the planet.

On the surface of “Karlavia,” all sorts of chanical equipnt, including excavators and drillers, as well as many other massive machines whose nas were indiscernible, densely covered the area—all ticulously prepared by the two civilizations over the years.

“We’re about to set off soon, just ten more days! After ten days, we’ll bid farewell to this place!”

“Let’s do this! Let’s do this! Let’s do this!”

A group of elentary students shouted passionately. To them, journeying to a distant land was a matter of great significance.

Ding Peng smirked and began bragging to the group of elentary students about his experiences.

“…Do you know why there are so many excavators? When the Tos Civilization heard that humans were buying up excavators in large numbers, they also started to purchase them heavily. So half of the excavators are theirs!”

This forr shut-in had, over the years, forced himself to integrate into this colorful world and had not beco a so-called “Sinner.”

While rely existing and then indulging in a happy life in Virtual Space aligned with his personal desires, it was limited to wishful thinking. Actually doing it was out of the question. It’s like everyone has the desire to commit a cri, but when it cos down to it, most people will stop themselves.

He had been slowly assimilated by society.

Ding Peng did not take on the jobs that Zhang Yuan recomnded. Those jobs were too difficult for his intellect, this or that job required Mathematics, which to him, were impossible tasks.

So, in the end, Ding Peng chose to beco a community worker, specifically responsible for helping elentary and middle school students integrate into society.

Starting from elentary school, every student is involved in so form of social practical work, tasks that robot teachers cannot handle, and must be managed by humans. Not too difficult, but very important jobs.

These twenty or thirty children, through the glass windows, looked down at the vast ground below, chirping and squealing loudly, making all sorts of outlandish statents, their spirits high and excitent at its peak.

“Mr. Ding!”

A female student suddenly asked, “If other interstellar civilizations find out about this, could they do sothing, like secretly follow us? Could it trigger a series of unnecessary risks?”

Ding Peng laughed proudly, gestured grandly with his hand, and declared confidently, “Of course, it’s possible! They might have their suspicions, but that’s all they are—just suspicions!”

“Purchasing a large amount of chanical equipnt isn’t really anything special, because many interstellar civilizations do this before developing their own planets. So we humans are not an exception!”

“They might mistakenly believe that humans will return to their Mother Star to develop their own War Star, which is a likely event. As for why the Tos Civilization would go along, it might just be on the way, really nothing much.”

“As long as the whole ssage hasn’t been completely exposed, let them guess. Would they really pay a huge amount of AmiBa Points to follow? That’s an unlikely event.”

“On the other hand, the trade market won’t deliberately leak trade secrets, or else who would dare do business with this market? Reputation is very important to the market, and over such a long period, the Huantai Civilization has accumulated reputation worth at least a million points, right? That is to say, unless you pay one million AmiBa Points, it’s possible to make them break their own rules.”

“Once you have studied cosmic political science and ga theory, you should be able to understand.”

This answer… suffices to fob off primary school students…

Seeing these primary schoolers one by one showing thoughtful expressions, Ding Peng heaved a sigh of relief in secret. Kids these days are getting smarter, each one like a little adult, so hard to fool.

Of course, these political declarations were learned from Zhang Yuan; otherwise, how would he know them?

“Thank you, thank you, brother-in-law, for your help… hehe!”

In order to do a good job, his smart brother-in-law hastily trained him for 3 hours last night. Thanks to his assistant brain’s ability to rember anything he saw, today was Ding Peng’s first day at work, and even if he’d morized by rote, there shouldn’t be any slip-up… being stumped by these primary school kids would indeed be embarrassing!

After explaining the whole society’s situation and the future developnt trends to these primary schoolers, Ding Peng finished his work task.

Then ca the delightful ti to clock off.

He suddenly noticed a young man waving at him.

Also a talent selected from the Virtual World, nad Xu Yafeng. The most critical point was, he was born in the sa Virtual World as Ding Peng.

Xu Yafeng was actually the rightful passenger in that ambulance; what happened to Ding Peng was just an accidental incident.

“Have a drink?”

Countryn eting countryn always have a natural sense of familiarity.

Ding Peng nodded, and the two walked into a self-service restaurant and ordered a simple dinner.

“Ti to go.”

“Yeah, finally ti to go.”

Xu Yafeng, ticulously selected from the Virtual World, was not the recluse that Ding Peng was.

He was already a bona fide doctor of physics.

This genius chosen from an otherworldly place had mixed feelings about this world, half love and half loathing. On the one hand, Xu Yafeng was originally a research fanatic, and most of the productivity of New Human Civilization was invested in scientific research, which made him very happy, with so many novel and fun things to uncover, impossible to beco a polymath in a lifeti.

On the other hand… he was the youngest academician in another world, not quite on the level of Einstein or Newton but still on the level of Hawking. Yet, in this world, he was nothing.

He needed to start over, and this was sothing he was not too pleased about.

Xu Yafeng caught Ding Peng and started to rant, “I’m telling you, the lab recently bought a new kind of equipnt, a magnetic field generator. What on earth is it for? I seriously doubt the decision-makers’ vision… Did they buy it at too high of a price?”

“Also, concerning the whole population moving to the MA9987 Star Domain and cooperating with the Tos Civilization, should the governnt think it over once more… Observing the collision of neutron stars is dangerous. Up to now, there hasn’t been a very strict plan…”

In this world, he was no longer considered the most top-notch genius, with too much to learn. But he couldn’t let go of his past life’s top-tier genius mindset. So, Xu Yafeng often vented out his desire to express himself to Ding Peng, this academically poor guy.
