Chapter 299: Chapter 298 Earth Civilization Situation (Four more) Chapter 299: Chapter 298 Earth Civilization Situation (Four more) Captain Xu Peng wrote in his letter, “The first issue is that the transition out of hibernation was not smooth enough…”

The Golden Sun spaceship was born at the pinnacle of Earth Civilization. However, after its launch, Earth Civilization gradually declined, so they received almost only bad news, hardly any good news, helplessly witnessing the rapid fall of Earth Civilization.

This also resulted in a large number of people developing symptoms of depression upon waking up from their first hibernation period!

This was sowhat different from those of the Earth Era, who, upon waking from their first hibernation, were saying farewell to an entire era, which was very hard and painful.

But back then, Earth Civilization was still flourishing, and the ssages received were mostly good news; science was still advancing, and civilization was still developing. These good news mitigated the sense of sorrow in their hearts…

As for the later bad news, because so much ti had passed, the entire era carried a sense of strangeness, and people no longer felt as saddened.

The Golden Sun had it bad, though, as after departure, civilization slid from its peak with no such mitigation.

Every awakening brought only bad news, bad news, bad news, causing imnse psychological pressure. The number of ntal breakdowns increased, making the managent of the population even more difficult.

Zhang Yuan glanced at Old Zhao, whose hair had turned white, and secretly felt fortunate for the luck of everyone on his ship, stumbling their way to the end.

That Golden Sun, however, truly faced…

Hard mode!

Captain Xu Peng continued in his letter, “The second issue is that the shift in thought has beco even more difficult.”

The Golden Sun had a larger tonnage and carried more equipnt. As a result, because the equipnt was too abundant and too good, the population felt no urgency to survive!

This was also a miscalculation.

Without such an urgency to survive, it naturally beca difficult to establish the foundation for societal support. Why bother with the strenuous process of artificially incubating babies when people could simply reproduce over ti?

The developnt process was tortuous and winding; in the end, the managent had no choice but to forcefully implent these policies. If they waited until the population grew before implenting them, the opposition would be greater, making things even less smooth.

“As a result, due to the large divergence between supporters and opposers, an uprising erupted!”

“Fortunately, or unfortunately, our faction… ultimately triumphed.”

The rest is a detailed description of this period of history, about the reaction of the people, corresponding tiline events, and what exactly transpired.

Zhang Yuan placed great importance on this precious historical record. As humans sharing the sa origin, the various data and the overall historical changes seed more informative.

Although the end result was the civilization getting back on track, he deeply understood the imnse level of difficulty involved.

“Revolutions, after all, are shaped by sacrifices. Without bloodshed, how can there be a revolution… We are indeed incredibly fortunate.”

Next, Captain Xu Peng brought so good news, but also so bad news.

“With the quelling of the internal strife, we have gained three hundred years of peaceful developnt ti, and the whole civilization is flourishing. The societal support system has brought greater vitality to the society…”

“But friends of the Earth Era, I regret to inform you of the first piece of bad news, the Big Desert might indeed exist. Our civilization spent a trendous amount of ti building a Global Accelerator with a circumference of 20,000 kiloters! The result is… we discovered nothing.”

“Yes, nothing at all, how disappointing.”

“Technological progress has beco increasingly difficult. Consuming vast social resources for such tiny achievents, and not even guaranteed any achievent… So, I’m either unfortunate or honored to inform you that there’s no need to repeat these experints anymore.”

The construction of the Global Accelerator drained massive manpower and material resources, but it didn’t yield any new theories, turning into a giant toy. This dealt a heavy blow to the public’s enthusiasm for science. Fortunately, that branch operated under a planned economy; the governnt had trendous initiative and could forcefully proceed with so seemingly useless plans.

But the human branch of the Golden Sun had strived so long and still failed to break through the upper limits of Earth’s humanity to induce a qualitative change, which was undoubtedly a trendous tragedy, reflecting the limitations of human creative capacity.

“A 20,000-kiloter Global Accelerator… And still no breakthrough.” This caused Zhang Yuan to feel a slight sense of fear; if the Golden Sun couldn’t do it, perhaps they couldn’t either.

As for the Solar System Ring Accelerator, with current technology, it was impossible to build.

“Yeah, our branch has no need to repeat such a costly and aningless project, which is, in an unseen way, good news.”

Several physics professors who had harbored such thoughts also sighed softly, their expressions carrying a hint of reluctance.

Especially the young assistant sitting next to Zhang Yuan, Li Cheng, who was a physics enthusiast. He looked gloomy and kept running his fingers through his hair.

The developnt of science was indeed getting harder.

People were fortunate; Earth Civilization had consud its old capital, and now it appeared they could consu a bit of the Golden Sun’s reserves, but ultimately, everyone understood that they must rely on themselves.

“The second piece of news should be said to be neither good nor bad, concerning the latest progress of Earth Civilization!”

This announcent instantly energized everyone present.

They had been cut off from Earth Civilization for over two thousand years. They had no idea how exactly Earth Civilization had fared in those two millennia.

“After we mastered a new type of propulsion system, which is good news and will be introduced later, we dispatched a large spaceship that traversed the vast space from Earth… It was only recently that these brave souls turned back, providing us the latest developnts of Earth Civilization.”

Below are historical records of Earth Civilization.

As expected, Earth Civilization was in a prolonged state of stagnation; even after two thousand years, change was minimal.

The “Golden Sun,” with its own courage, was still able to develop technology slowly, but Earth Civilization had long given up. The Global Accelerator was impossible on Earth, not to ntion whether the public would oppose it, but the re appropriation of land required would be enough to bankrupt a developed nation.

This situation was just as in ancient human tis; technology was virtually stagnant, with one dynasty succeeding another in endless succession. Rulers changed, and people ca and went in waves, but the essence of society remained unchanged.

Even the Earth’s population was in a slow decline, with more and more people opting for childlessness to ensure a good quality of life…

Zhang Yuan, looking at the information in his hands, keenly noticed what subtle changes had occurred in the civilization of Earth in the 56th century.

In their era, the 23rd century, the top-ranked company was always either the nuclear fusion energy company or a tech company, alternating in leadership.

As for the subsequent Space Era, a few minor revolutions occurred over thousands of years, sotis involving spaceship manufacturing or construction of Space City industries, but it always remained within the domain of technology.

But now, in the 56th century… everything was different.
