“Is this the Void Beast Serum?!” Mafa widened his eyes, staring at the item Qin Lun handed him.
During the Domination War, Qin Lun obtained a total of three bottles of Void Beast Serum. He used one on the little mute Sif, gave one to Didi, and the last remaining bottle was now placed before Mafa.
“Why give it to ?” Mafa looked at Qin Lun with a complicated expression. “No matter how much I envy you, I won’t abandon my responsibilities for a one percent chance to enter the world of you Apostles.”
“Mafa, you misunderstood!” Qin Lun chuckled and shook his head. “I’m giving this to you not to persuade you to beco my companion, but to repay the favor I owe you.”
“A favor? You an the World Tree Fruit?” Mafa pondered for a mont, then shook his head. “You paid a price too…”
“Haha, the price I paid might be similar to the World Tree Fruit. I don’t owe the Elven Race anything. But this fruit was your inheritance item for reincarnation. No matter what, I still owe you a personal favor.” Qin Lun said seriously.
“So, you want to use this Void Beast Serum to clear the debt?” Mafa said indifferently with an expressionless face. “No wonder you gave that ‘Lost’ team’s Invitation Letter to soone else, but used the ‘Chaos’ team’s internal invitation yourself… After the Domination War, soone used 500 City Points to pay off your debt. It seems you want to completely cut ties with the Elven Race!”
“Huh? You misunderstood.” Qin Lun smiled and shook his head. “I used the ‘Chaos’ invitation because I didn’t want to be used by the ‘Lost’ team. It has nothing to do with the Elven Race.”
“Then… why give this to ?” Hearing Qin Lun’s explanation, Mafa’s expression softened considerably as he pointed at the Void Beast Serum.
“Just in case!” Qin Lun said sincerely. “The World Tree Fruit is limited. You probably won’t get another one for a long ti. I’m giving you the Void Beast Serum not to urge you onto the path of an Apostle, but to give you an extra choice if sothing unexpected happens.”
“Are you sure it’s not because you’re abandoning the Elven Race to fully embrace the Demon Clan?” Mafa looked at Qin Lun with doubt.
“Haha, I won’t deny I have needs regarding the Demon Clan, but I wouldn’t abandon old friends from the Elven Race.” Qin Lun said with a laugh. “I also used City Points to settle my debts with the Demon Clan. Don’t overthink it.”
This eting actually cleared up so misunderstandings for Mafa, and he happily accepted the Void Beast Serum in the end. Qin Lun’s three bottles of Void Beast Serum had all found their destinations, but Didi did not use the serum his master gave him.
No matter how much he desired to beco an Apostle, Didi wouldn’t attempt the one percent chance. The clever little guy traded the three Alchemy Recipes Qin Lun gave him for five different Alchemy Recipes that could also create Apostle items.
Trading three for five might seem unbelievable, but there was a difference. The Alchemy Recipes Qin Lun acquired from the Demiplane market were law items. Apostles with alchemy skills could use them to imdiately understand and comprehend the alchemy laws recorded through the law runes on them. However, only Apostles could use them; Sapient Races like Didi couldn’t understand them.
The Alchemy Recipes Didi obtained later were actual written recipes that required gradual learning and extensive practice. The quality of the reagents and dicines produced varied greatly, and there was a high failure rate.
Since alchemical materials cost more, these types of Alchemy Recipes were clearly much less valuable than law recipes. Trading three for five wasn’t strange at all.
Qin Lun fully approved of Didi’s choice. Although he gave the little guy the chance to decide his own fate, he actually didn’t approve of Didi using the Void Beast Serum.
After making his decision, Didi wanted to return the Alchemy Recipes to Qin Lun. However, the young man ultimately didn’t take them back and instead gave him another one hundred thousand Shattered Crystals to use for purchasing alchemical materials.
In the little guy’s hands, through buying and selling, these one hundred thousand Shattered Crystals should last a long ti. Once Didi beca familiar with and mastered those five recipes, he could not only support himself through trade but probably also provide so products for Qin Lun.
During the two weeks Qin Lun participated in the Domination War, Frank once again felt the rejection from the Shattered Starry Sky. His second Quest World was coming soon. For this, Qin Lun purchased a temporary Team Emblem from the Auction House, allowing Frank and the little mute to form a temporary team.
This ti, he didn’t plan to go with them. One reason was that he had already undergone Class Change. If he entered Frank’s Quest World, the difficulty would increase significantly. This wouldn’t be good for Frank and the little mute.
Another reason was that Qin Lun hoped Frank and the little mute could develop self-protection abilities, rather than becoming his burdens. Prolonged group life was slowly influencing Qin Lun’s cold and ruthless personality. He hoped Frank and the little mute would live well, but he wouldn’t shelter them under his wing like a mother hen protecting her chicks.
To increase their chances of survival, Qin Lun spent over two hundred thousand Shattered Crystals on a large quantity of recovery items and Magic Scrolls, and specifically picked out a few defensive items for Frank. As for the little mute, there wasn’t much he could do. Most Apostle equipnt had requirents, and given the little mute’s physical attributes, there weren’t many usable items.
However, Qin Lun had so confidence in their personal safety. Compared to his first ti entering a Quest World, they had a handful of recovery items. Frank had experienced multiple battles in Nals World, and the little mute had survived alone for over two years in the perilous Atlantis Sacred City.
One had a Law Body suited for a tank, the other was naturally clever. If they died in the lowest difficulty Quest World even under these circumstances, then it was simply ant to be.
The people around Qin Lun each embarked on their own paths. anwhile, the Wheel of Fate began turning for certain individuals who had been influenced by Qin Lun, intersecting with him in different ways.
…
“Little Lian, Lin Feng, you’re here!” Lili said joyfully, leading them into a small booth in the bar.
Inside the booth sat one male and one female Apostle. The male Apostle was exceptionally handso with pointed ears, likely an Elf. However, this Elf’s skin was pale and radiant, as if shimring with sunlight, completely different from the Moonlit Elves of Devil’s Horn.
The female Apostle had a delicate oval face with almond-shaped eyes that sparkled. Her charming face carried an icy, cold elegance. Though also a great beauty, she was human.
“Sister Hu Fei, you’re alive?” Little Lian and Lin Feng stared in shock at the female Apostle before them.
“Yes, I’m alive!” A trace of excitent appeared on Hu Fei’s ice-cold face as she opened her arms and hugged Little Lian. Both couldn’t help but shed tears.
“But I saw with my own eyes…” Little Lian buried her head in Hu Fei’s ample bosom, sobbing as she asked, “Sister Hu Fei, how did you survive?”
“Haha, it was fate’s arrangent! Little Lian, do you rember that dical serum with the X code na developed at District 91 Base?” Hu Fei’s face showed an indescribable mix of sadness and joy as she said bitterly, “When we escaped, I had one X syringe in my dical Kit. This serum is a special dicine recognized by the Shattered Starry Sky. Relying on this syringe and a scalpel, I survived from the Zombie hordes…”
“Sister Hu Fei, since you survived, why didn’t you co find us?” Little Lian lifted her head, looking at Hu Fei with tear-filled eyes.
“By the ti I woke up, you were long gone. I was severely injured and near death then. Those Scavengers from the Lu-Lu Tribe almost mistook
for a skeleton Zombie…” Hu Fei’s eyes grew distant as she fell into mories.
“After leaving the base, I survived alone in the wilderness for a long ti, living by taking food from Scavengers. Finally, a Floating City from the Elven Race found . But it wasn’t the Moonlit Elves’ Moonlight Forest, but the Sun Elves’ Eternal Blaze.”
“How did you find us?” Lin Feng asked cautiously.
“Finding out your whereabouts was easy. Besides Eternal Blaze, the only other Floating City in the Crimson Gobi area at that ti was Moonlight Forest. If you survived with those Serial Killers, you would naturally enter Devil’s Horn.”
Hu Fei explained with a smile, “The Apostle City I’m in now is called Tyrant City. Taking advantage of this tropolis Domination War, I asked a senior in my team to post a missing person notice at the city employnt office in Devil’s Horn.”
“Hehe, I’ve been doing so small city employnt tasks recently and happened to see Hu Fei’s missing person notice.” Lili giggled from beside them. “So I contacted them. There are teleportation arrays between Apostle Cities. They just arrived this afternoon.”
“What is the tropolis Domination War?” Little Lian looked curiously at Hu Fei.
“I don’t know the specifics well!” Hu Fei glanced at the handso Elf beside her and shook her head.
“Haha, it’s an Apostle battle for control over the Atlantis continent. It’s beyond your reach for now, so don’t worry about it.” The male Elf gave a gentle smile and explained briefly.
“I know a little. Boss Hansen told
once. He and several other bosses participated. It seems… that person summoned them.” Lili said cautiously.
“Lili, the person you ntioned… is it him?” Lin Feng’s eyes glead as he asked carefully.
“Yeah.” Lili glanced at Hu Fei and nodded hesitantly.
“The person you’re talking about…” Hu Fei slowly raised her slender eyebrows, gritting her teeth as she said coldly, “Is it Joey Foster?”
“Sister Hu Fei…” Little Lian shook Hu Fei’s arm, looking at her with concern.
“Don’t worry, I won’t go seek revenge against him now!” Hu Fei took a deep breath and forced a smile. “Little Lian, you probably don’t have a team yet, right? Do you want to co with
to Tyrant City…”
“Um, Lin Feng, Lili, you should co too!” Little Lian looked expectantly at her other two companions.
“Okay!” Lin Feng smiled and nodded. He had already experienced two Quest Worlds and fully understood their dangers. Having a few trustworthy companions form a team was definitely a good thing. Which Apostle City they were in didn’t matter much.
“I… won’t go.” Lili’s expression changed several tis before she refused Little Lian’s invitation. Unlike Little Lian and Lin Feng, although the three had good feelings for each other, Lili knew she wasn’t suited for an ordinary Apostle team.
