More than two hundred Apostles entered this Domination War zone. Since they could not bring regular recovery items to the Domination War, except for so battle fanatics, most of them had the sa idea—to sit back and profit from others’ conflicts.
Under normal circumstances, there would not be many battles in the early stages of the Domination War. Most people would wait for the best mont to join the fight. So Apostles might even form temporary teams through communication, only appearing to participate in the final days of the Domination War.
That way, it would certainly lead to an intense free-for-all. Such fights would involve many coincidences, and unless one chose not to participate, even Qin Lun could not guarantee his own survival. However, due to ti constraints and most Apostles being well-prepared, the number of deaths would actually not be very high.
Qin Lun estimated that out of more than two hundred Apostles, the final survivors would likely number between one hundred and one hundred fifty. This aligned with Shattered Starry Sky’s purpose for hosting the tropolis Domination War: to train Apostles’ survival abilities and stimulate and catalyze their advancent with minimal casualties.
However, this did not suit Qin Lun’s goals!
Every ti Qin Lun completed a mission period, his total earnings were generally over two hundred thousand Shattered Crystals. In his recent two Otherworld Missions—the World War II World and Nals World—his earnings even reached between three hundred thousand and four hundred thousand Shattered Crystals.
Engaging in an extrely dangerous free-for-all with more than two hundred opponents of the sa level, only to end up with lesser rewards than those from Quest Worlds, was definitely not Qin Lun’s original intention for joining the tropolis Domination War.
In Qin Lun’s view, the tropolis Domination War was like a gu jar. The two hundred Apostles were the venomous insects inside the jar, killing each other. Only by having more deaths and consuming more would the survivors beco stronger.
An Apostle’s Invitation Letter was worth one hundred thousand Shattered Crystals. Two hundred people ant twenty million Shattered Crystals. If fifty people died, only fifty would reap the rewards, while the other one hundred would gain nothing apart from a few hundred points from the Sapient Races’ employnt. On average, one hundred fifty people would only share thirty to forty thousand Shattered Crystals. Even if one hundred died, the remaining one hundred would only have earnings of one hundred thousand Shattered Crystals.
That was too little!
For such a small amount of Shattered Crystals, why would Qin Lun even join the tropolis Domination War? Moreover, the Legendary Items gathered in the Domination War zone could only be shared by the survivors. The more people remaining, the smaller his chances would naturally be.
Once he understood this, Qin Lun’s strategy beca very simple. It was to fight as little as possible, preserve his strength, and incite battles among the other Apostles. Killing one Apostle in the early stages would only yield one hundred thousand Shattered Crystals. But once the number dropped to one hundred, fifty, or even twenty people, then killing one Apostle would bring earnings close to one million Shattered Crystals.
Most importantly, the more battles occurred among the others, the more they would consu their prepared recovery treasures and Magic Scrolls, which would instead benefit Qin Lun in achieving victory.
However, every Apostle selected for the tropolis Domination War was outstanding among their peers. Everyone knew to preserve their strength in the early stages and avoid fighting as much as possible. Besides, the Domination War zone involved random teleportation, so very few knew each other. Qin Lun was even more isolated and alone. Stirring up fights among others seed utterly impossible.
But for Qin Lun, a master of psychology, planning and scheming was actually easier than direct combat.
What were the Apostles participating in the Domination War for? Simply to seize others’ Invitation Letters and search for the Apostle equipnt and Legendary Items left behind in the Atlantis Sacred City.
If, in the early stages of the Domination War, a great treasure left by the Sacred City was placed right before their eyes, what would happen? Obviously, it would inevitably lead to the Apostles scrambling for it, triggering the great free-for-all ahead of ti. No one would be willing to just stand by and watch soone else take the biggest piece of the cake without taking action themselves.
What Qin Lun needed to do was create such a big cake for these two hundred Apostles. As long as he ignited such a battle storm, even if so were willing to play the patient turtle, they would be in the extre minority and would not affect his overall plan.
The only thing Qin Lun needed to consider and ensure was the authenticity of this treasure!
For this, he prepared that special invisible ink! This ink could blend with most papers, showing nothing on the surface. It would only beco visible under special Eye Techniques and specific light, perfectly fitting the setting of a Treasure Map.
However, before entering the Domination War battlefield, Qin Lun did not know the surrounding environnt or the culture of the Atlanteans, so this Treasure Map could not be made in advance. He had to wait until after entering the Domination War battlefield to create it on-site at the Atlanteans’ Apostle base. This way, it would not be seen through by other shrewd Apostles, and the treasure would be credible.
Originally, Qin Lun entered the Celestial Wheel branch just to find their data room or staff departnt, using the letters and blueprints left behind by the Atlanteans to make this “Treasure Map.”
At that ti, the question Qin Lun wanted Elder Anlis to answer was to locate the data room or staff departnt in the fortress. However, Karu’s interference and the existence of the Apostle ch provided him with a better stage for his magic trick.
With the Apostle ch worth over one million Shattered Crystals as supporting evidence, the “Treasure Map” made using the ch’s blueprints would be flawless. Moreover, this magic show had two Apostle Rogues as eyewitnesses!
All Qin Lun needed to do now was to release the “Treasure Map” in his hands, break it into pieces, and deliver them to the dozens of Apostles outside the fortress. It would be best to have the two Apostle Rogues testify personally to enhance the reliability of the information.
Don’t think those Apostles would not understand this “Treasure Map.” They would naturally use various thods to examine the blueprint they obtained. And when they personally saw the Apostle ch worth over one million Shattered Crystals and took it apart to carry away, they would only value the blueprint fragnts in their hands even more.
After that, almost no brewing ti would be needed. Small-scale battles would break out among these Apostles one after another. This would gradually leak the treasure information to other Apostles, inevitably leading to the arrival of a great storm.
Judging from the value of the Apostle ch, they would naturally think the “Treasure Map” was worth several tis more than the ch.
Perhaps everyone understood that they could not collect the complete “Treasure Map.” However, the more fragnts they collected, the more likely they would be to decipher the “Treasure Map’s” mystery ahead of ti.
Even if so of them grew suspicious, it did not matter. No one would be willing to give up the temptation of millions or even tens of millions of Shattered Crystals. Once this storm began, all Apostles would be drawn into it, and Qin Lun would be no exception.
However, since Qin Lun was the instigator, he naturally had the advantage of making the first move. He could freely choose the timing and location of battles, avoid the most dangerous monts and the areas with the fiercest competition for the blueprint, and endure until the final stage to reap the rewards.
To carry out this plan, Qin Lun had already invested four Magic Scrolls so far. These included the Web Spell, Bone Shield, and Withering Impact from the “Sacrifice” glove, as well as a Light Body Technique scroll and half a pot of Walnut Wine. It was a heavy investnt.
Qin Lun tore nurous cracks in the inner part of the “Treasure Map,” carefully preserving the connections at the edges. This way, it still looked like a complete blueprint, but if it suffered a heavy blow, the “Treasure Map” would imdiately shatter into twenty or thirty fragnts.
Too many fragnts would make them too scattered and lose their preservation value. Too few fragnts would limit the scope of competition. Once a large free-for-all started, so would watch and wait, and so would avoid fighting, which would not serve the fundantal goal of reducing the number of Apostles in the early stages.
Twenty to thirty pieces were just right, allowing the Apostles hiding outside the fortress to basically have one fragnt each. With these twenty or thirty storm seeds, the battle circles would spread to twenty or thirty locations. Each location would have about seven or eight people fighting, so Apostles with so confidence in themselves would certainly participate.
Once this incident began, no one would be able to control its developnt. It would then snowball, growing larger and larger. Two hundred people would shrink to one hundred, and one hundred would shrink to fifty.
When the number of people in the entire Domination War zone dropped below one hundred, the presence or absence of the “Treasure Map” would no longer matter. At that ti, with plenty of ti left until the Domination War ended, killing one Apostle would yield over two hundred thousand Shattered Crystals. Even without the “Treasure Map,” the remaining Apostles would fight desperately.
If the situation developed smoothly, Qin Lun estimated that by the end of the Domination War, there might be fewer than thirty people left in this area. As long as he killed one Apostle, he could gain close to one million Shattered Crystals, basically recovering his investnt in that Apostle ch.
If, during this process, he could obtain the Legendary Items from the Domination War zone, that would be even better. But if he couldn’t, it really didn’t matter.
Moreover, by that ti, the other Apostles would basically be in a state of depleted mana and exhausted scroll reserves. Even if those people were originally no weaker than Qin Lun, or even stronger, facing a Serial Killer who had conserved his strength, they would only be waiting to be slaughtered.
“The ti is about right. It’s ti to go say hello to those two Rogues!” Qin Lun, who had been resting with his eyes closed, slowly opened them. The glowing pointers of his Clock Eye shone brightly in the darkness.
…
“Silver Sail, do you think it’s because your charm isn’t enough that guy looked down on you?” Black Rat glanced sideways at his companion, his face full of grievance. They had searched the fortress for over an hour but failed to attract any attacks.
“Nonsense!” Silver Sail shot an angry glare at his unscrupulous companion and sighed. “If I obtained an item worth far more than a million Shattered Crystals, I wouldn’t show up either! Once he escapes from here, he probably won’t appear for the entire Domination War period.”
“That guy is really lucky!” Black Rat mumbled helplessly.
“Forget it. Our gains aren’t small either; don’t be too greedy! It’s almost dawn. The guys outside have waited all night and are probably about to co in now!” Silver Sail said calmly. “Let’s go. If we don’t leave now, we’ll be trapped inside!”
Their figures gradually faded as they moved silently toward the broken entrance of the fortress they had originally co through.
