"Che, this is going to be trouble", the bald old man muttered to himself.
The mission that the cult gave him was a simple one. He was supposed to eliminate a few students that awakened this year.
Originally all the cult mbers were concentrated on finding about the SS-rank profession awakener. She was the list, but things happeend and the supres of the cult gave orders to eliminate as many talented as possible.
One of the targets that he got was a Death Mage but the reason he made onto the list was that he ranked top in the alliance exam. Even though he may not beco a disaster to them, he would certainly beco a nace to the cult with his undead army.
Most people look down on death related professionals but there are a few skills that could beco problems to the cult easily. Of course, it was not easy to get them but seeing his potential to reach Rank-6, they added his na to the list.
The bald old man, has a number of subordinates, to whom he distributed those targets. To make sure that his subordinates doesn’t fail, he assigned only a single target to two mbers.
The subordinates that he assigned to the Death Mage failed to accomplish the mission. Not only that, one of them was even caught and that caused the alliance to rise their vigilance against the cult, which made it difficult for the other assassins to take out their targets.
None of the targets assigned to him were killed. Infact a few of them were killed or arrested. At first, he didn’t understand why so many life tokens were destroyed, but he got the answer when Sarah, the partner assigned to the bastard who not only failed to assassin but got caught revealed everything to him.
That bastard revealed everything to the authorities and the reason why all the assassins that were assigned to him failed. Infact, there were only a few success among all.
A few missions assigned to others were succeeded, but they too lost so subordinates who got arrested or died. Now that he knew that the reason for that was his own subordinate, he beca quite angry.
If others knew that his subordinate was the reason why they lost their targets and subordinates, it would cause a lot of damage to him. They wouldn’t kill him but he knows that they wouldn’t let him go without proper compensation.
For a second, he wanted to eliminate the only witness not only out of anger but also to protect himself from the backlash but he pulled himself back.
Though the cult doesn’t care the deaths of its mbers, suspicions would rise if suddenly she were to die without any reason. Instead of that, he thought she could die helping him with her death.
"Hahaha, Eight, why do you seed to be pissed?" a voice called out.
Hearing the voice, the bald man was pulled out of his thoughts. He recognized the voice. It was his rival, the one nad Seven.
In the organization, the top officials were given codes. No one would call others by their real nas, only by code nas. This is a security asure to keep themselves safe in case their strongholds were breached and the data of the organization was collected by the alliance officials. It was a simple thod but also an efficient one.
Seven lost a few mbers during the latest botched operation.
"I can never let this bastard know about that, no matter what", Eight thought.
The numbers were given as status. It ans Seven has higher status that Eight in the cult and that ans they were in-fighting over a long ti.
It was not just them. Everyone has fights with persons who are ahead of them and behind them. So, Eight can’t let Seven know about the matter. If that happens, there is a high chance that Eight could lose the battle against Nine and he would be the new Nine.
Once that happens, he can forget about upgrading his rank. He was already quite old. At this ti, he can’t go low, he has to reach higher ranks.
"Ah, it was because of the failings of assassinations. The stupid alliance was vigilant than we thought they would be. We lost a lot of rits because of that", Eight muttered in an angry manner, pushing all the bla onto the alliance.
"Ah, yes. I heard that none on your list were killed, at least, I have two kills", Seven quictely mocked while appearing as if he was sympathesizing with Eight.
"Ah, thank you brother Seven", Eight smiled as he spoke.
"Hmm, sothing is definately wrong. He was being nice and also there was that girl that left the building just before I wanted to enter. She is one fo his subordinates I believe. She was shivering in fear when she left but there were no injuries on her.
Now he is playing nice with even though I clearly mocked him. He didn’t even show an angry expression. There is sothing fishy going on here. Whatever you are hiding, I would know that soon. For now let’s play your ga Eight", Seven thought in his mind.
"Of course we are here for the sa reason and are brothers in a way. We should be helpful to each other", Seven said.
"Well said. Oh, why are you here Brother Seven", Eight asked.
"Oh, forgive . I totally forgot that. I am here because..."

It was almost noon when Aaron returned to his house, completing the tour of the academy. When Reyna took him on his tour the previous night, it didn’t take long as she was only showing where the main places of the academy were, nothing more.
Aaron, on the other hand, didn’t just visit these places; he actually took the ti to explore them, though it was just a surface exploration.
Even though it was just a surface exploration, he ca to know about almost everything that there is in the academy, at least the important ones according to everyone here.
If there were places that he needed to know, he would do so in the next four years; that’s what he thought when he returned to his house.
