Buzz!!!

The dark lights increased in intensity, and what appeared to be a spatial tear started to appear within the boundaries of the ritual circle.

"Shit", the man cursed when he saw what was happening.

The man thought that he still had ti before the portal opened, but he was wrong. The portal opened before the ti he estimated.

For that to happen, the number of deaths in the city should have increased by a lot, which was not easy for the assigned cult mbers to achieve.

What the man failed to observe was that Aaron, in trying to infuse his undead with Death Energy similar to the man, had released a lot of Death Energy, which was absorbed by the ritual circles, making the ritual a success even before they estimated.

Then a hand ca out of the portal.

It was a bone hand. It was exactly that. There was not even a small piece of muscle or anything attached to that hand; only bones were present.

A few seconds later, the portal expanded in size, and what appeared to be a skeleton stepped out of the portal.

The creature looked similar to a skeleton, and probably is, but there are many differences. When compared, the skeletons would be on the ground floor, while this creature would be at the top of a skyscraper in a power structure.

Moreover, the skeleton, which, unlike the skeletons Aaron has summoned, is fully clothed, in royal robes, with a golden crown studded with gems on its head. It also held a wooden staff with runes inscribed on it. At the top of the staff, there was a Red Gem, larger than a human hand.

The skeleton creature looked like royalty, and if any na is appropriate for it, that would be Skeleton King or maybe Skeleton Emperor.

The Skeleton, which was supposed to go on a rampage, stood silently for a minute in front of Aaron, and then started to laugh eerily, which caused shivers down both their backs.

Aaron couldn’t properly think about has to defeat this monster. The power he was feeling was sothing he had never felt before. He can tell that the monster has definitely crossed Rank-7, maybe even a rank above. So, defeating the skeleton was out of his hands. He can only wait for the city to send soone powerful to tackle this threat.

While Aaron was waiting for the guards to arrive, the man who was fearful of the creature was thinking sothing entirely different.

The creature summoned through this thod, no matter how powerful it was, would go insane for a few minutes, destroying everything in its path. The cult was banking on that point to cause as much destruction as they could here, but what they expected was not happening here.

He was wondering why that didn’t happen, to which he got the answer the next minute.

"Haha, you have truly returned as promised, but looking at your shocked and horrified face, I ascertain that you are not the one who summoned . Also, from looking at this ritual, this is not my summoning ritual, which you should have known. It ans you have yet to rember who you are".

"Oh, it looks like I have given out spoilers. Don’t worry, I won’t spoil anymore. You would know when it is ti. Since you have not summoned , I will leave. Though it was a waste of ti, it was good to know that the ti is near", the skeleton king laughed as it slapped Aaron’s shoulder as if greeting an old friend.

The casual slap landed him on the floor, "Ouch, that has to hurt", the creature slowly pulled Aaron up, "You are so weak. It looks like it would be a while before things happen. See you around", he said goodbye.

After that, the skeleton king returned to the portal as promised, and once it left, the portal closed.

---

Aaron turned towards the man, who stood there in fear and was staring at Aaron. The man couldn’t understand what had just happened at all, but he could feel that whatever had happened was sothing out of this world.

"Hmm, it looks like another secret I have to keep from others, and this one needs to silence that bastard permanently", Aaron thought to himself.

Without giving out his thoughts, Aaron connected with his undead ntally and asked if he could detect souls after the death of a person.

Luckily, the Lich said yes, and also that he has a skill that can imprison souls, until they deteriorate to nothing, or he can set them free if he wishes.

Hearing those words, he gave a ntal command to kill the man and imprison the man’s soul.

Why did Aaron give such a command?

There was a good reason behind that. He was afraid that the man might have revival thods. If he cos back to life, not only would he try to seek revenge against him, but also would spread his secrets around, which could make him a top priority for the cults.

There was no way the cults would leave him alone if they ca to learn the things that the man witnessed regarding Aaron. Even the alliance may dirty their hands if they knew about what happened here just a few minutes ago.

So, Aaron has decided to destroy everything that belonged to the man, which can be used to either resurrect him or to get information regarding Aaron.

The Lich easily killed off the man, as he was almost out of mana after the long fight, and when the creature appeared, he faltered, which made him lose grip on his undead.

Added to the fact that Aaron had given a secret order, the man was not prepared to survive.

The Lich caught and imprisoned the man’s soul after killing him, making it almost impossible to resurrect the man.

Though the escaping soul was caught, to be sure, Aaron burned the corpse, but not before taking a picture of the man as proof of his kill for the alliance.

He has heard that mories can be extracted from eyes even after death in his previous world. Though that may sound insane, in his world, that could be a common thing. He didn’t want to take any chances.

So, Aaron destroyed the body and also imprisoned the man’s soul, making sure that his secrets are safe.

After that, he destroyed the ritual circle beyond recognition and made it look like sothing else happened, a narrative that he was going to give, not what actually happened.

Once he was sure that everything was in order, he left the area.

---

A few minutes after Aaron left the area, a shadow appeared at the ritual place.

"Haha, it looks like I am right", it laughed to itself, which no one could see or hear.
