"Did you see that correctly?" Viren Iroheart asked the boy standing before him.
The boy nodded and said, "Young master, what I said was true. Aaron, along with two girls, Erika and Diana, took a mission that would take them to a small village near WoodStone City. The na of the village was not ntioned in the post. It would be revealed to the ones that take the mission".
Viren’s face turned into a smirk, "You will finally pay for what you did, bastard".
Since the start of the year, Viren was envious of Aaron, as Aaron got first place in the first tournant of the year. Though he secured the first place in the later tournants, Aaron has not participated in them.
The public would only rember the top awakeners from important events, like the first tournant or the tournant between academies from all over the alliance.
With him failing to secure the first place in the first tournant, even though he ca out first, not many rembered him. Even among the ones that recognised him, there were rumours that he only secured that because Aaron hadn’t participated.
These rumours fuelled his jealousy and turned that into resentnt. He wanted to bring down Aaron to show the world that he was the undisputed number one of the Dusk Academy.
The chance appeared in the form of the Inter-Academy tournant selections.
Viren wanted to eliminate Aaron early in the selection, but he was never matched with him. It only happened when the last four stood, who would all be going to the tournant.
He was disappointed at that, but Viren tried to use the chance to severely damage Aaron, which would make him bedridden for days. Virn didn’t know that it could keep Aaron from entering the tournant, but he knew that it would make Aaron miss out on training for a few days.
This would definitely affect his performance in the tournant later on.
So, decided to use one of his deadliest attacks, but he never thought that it would backfire in his face. Aaron sohow defeated him, which rendered him useless for days in a dical hall.
He later learned that he was removed from the team and was replaced by soone else.
Viren was so furious when he heard the news, but at the ti, the tournant was near and he could do nothing to Aaron, as that could incur the wrath of the academy.
He may be a bully. He may be a jealous one, but what he is not is an idiot.
Any attack towards Aaron would make him end up on the losing side. So, he had to stay down for a while. He believed that the team would lose badly in the tournant, and he could use that to attack Aaron, not physically but by spreading rumours about his leadership.
It was then that tragedy struck him. Instead of returning to the academy as losers, they earned pretty ranks, and the academy even ranked second in the tournant for the first ti, which destroyed every plan he had made.
With so much fan favour, Viren couldn’t attack Aaron directly. Even his family na might not save him if he did anything remotely like that. So, waited and waited.
After waiting for a long ti, a chance appeared.
Due to the deploynts of the seniors, first-year students were given the chance to do missions in the mission hall, and those who took a mission, Aaron, along with two others who entered the Inter-academy tournant.
It would be a perfect chance for him to act, especially with Diana being the one who took Viren’s original spot in the tournant.
---
The young boy who just delivered the news stood beside Viren, as he was thinking of a plan to eliminate Aaron and the other two as well.
It was because, if he acted now, and didn’t end them, they would beco a thorn in his side, especially in the context of the academy.
The rules of the academy prohibit students from attacking or killing other students without a proper reason, even if there was a rivalry between them that extends to their families. It was a pretty simple rule, but breaking it would be t with severe punishnt.
So, if they made an attack, they need to completely eliminate them to avoid any future troubles.
After thinking for a while and perfecting a plan as much as he could, Viren turned to his henchn, "What we are going to do could expel you from the academy. So, if you want to leave, you can leave", he said.
Viren didn’t speak those words because he was worried for his henchn. No, he wanted to see who would be truly loyal to him and more than that, he wanted to see who could betray him.
When his henchn heard those words, so, though doubtful, stood up and left. Among them was the young boy who gave Viren the news about Aaron.
The boy received the rewards and left the room.
After the ones that didn’t want to get expelled left the room, one of the remaining ones stood up, "Boss, do you really want to let them go? Those traitors might leak about this, which would be troubleso for us".
Viren smiled viciously, "Do you really think I would let them go? I wanted to find who would be loyal to no matter what, and I learned it. The traitors, they would pay for that, but that has to wait till later, especially that bastard, Henry".
The bastard Viren was speaking about was the boy who gave him news about Aaron and his mission. He was the sa age as Viren, but his family worked for Viren’s family. So, to gain benefits for his family, he had to bow to Viren.
Even if he didn’t, nothing would have happened, but that was his personal choice.
The Ironheart family didn’t like slavery. If they force the children of people who work for them, that would only breed resentnt and cause problems for the family. They wanted soone who was truly loyal to them.
Even though that was the case, children of the servants would still serve young masters in the hopes of getting plenty of resources.
Though Henry bowed to Viren to gain resources, he was not stupid enough to get expelled from the academy for re resources that Viren could spit out for him. So, he decisively left the room, which made Viren even angrier than he would have been when others left.
Viren didn’t think that a son of a servant would leave him high and dry.
The punishnt for the traitors, Viren started to make plans for them. They would be excruciating, especially for Henry, but he held back as he might not get another chance at Aaron.
"Let’s forget about them. Here is the plan, listen carefully. First, we...", Viren laid out the plan to his henchn.
"Those three are dood", his n agreed when they heard the plan.
If they execute the plan without any mistakes, they would eliminate the three and at the sa ti would be blaless.
Viren was not an idiot to implent a plan where he would be caught for doing such an evil thing. No, he planned it perfectly so that he wouldn’t get the bla.
He has no intentions of getting expelled from the academy anyti soon. He intended to make the best use of the resources of the academy.
Until the ti of graduation, he had no intention of getting expelled from the academy.
The earlier scenario of informing his henchn that this endeavour could expel them from the academy was just to flush out traitors and the weak, who would beco a problem for him if he let them stay in the group.
He needed to eliminate them.
"Okay, everyone, prepare supplies for the journey and you...yes, you, go to the mission hall and take the mission that is near WoodStone city. The closer to the city, the better it would be. Register that as a team mission", Viren ordered his n one by one.
Even if he planned perfectly to execute his plan, he still needed supplies for the journey and an excuse for the journey. He would take the mission, and it would also give him a reason to be near those three, if anyone found traces of the group near the three.
As long as they execute it perfectly, he can eliminate a thorn in his heart and move on. Also, he can salvage whatever reputation he has by reaching the top in the year-end exams. Though he wasn’t sure about that, given how things are going on. Though that maybe the case, but without Aaron, he would be at the top, which he was sure about.
---
A shadow appeared in the room where Viren and others discussed their plan.
"Hmm, this is quite amusing. Let’s see what happens to these idiots. Staying here was quite boring. It could be fun and also, I may get the answer", the thought to itself, before rging back into the shadows.
