Without a second thought, she guessed that it probably had sothing to do with Zhan Jie. She sat across from Shi Yuhuan, biting her lip slightly and her grape-dark eyes staring at him tearfully.
The room was silent, as neither spoke, making the atmosphere frigid.
In terms of composure, Song Qinghuan would never be a match for Shi Yuhuan. She looked at him weakly and asked in a low voice, “Did Zhan Jie say anything to you just now?”
She cut right to the chase and asked him directly.
Shi Yuhuan looked at her, his eyes as cold and indifferent as the snow on the summit of Mount Everest.
Song Qinghuan couldn’t take it anymore, she turned her head away, her gaze seething with anger as she looked toward the night outside the window.
Was he showing that he believed Zhan Jie instead of her?

This matter implicated both her personal integrity and Shi Yuhuan’s trust in her, so of course it was important.
