After a mont of silence, Song Qinghuan voiced her question, “I wanted to ask, where did Tao Wenliang, Tao’s general manager, go?”
Shi Yuhuan took a sip of water, his gaze deep and intense as he stared at her, “Are you investigating him?”
Song Qinghuan remained silent, only biting her lower lip in response.
Shi Yuhuan’s slender fingers gently tapped the tabletop, a trace of helplessness appeared on his lips, before he finally shared what he knew with Song Qinghuan, “Tao Wenliang didn’t take a day off today, he couldn’t co into work at all!”
Song Qinghuan looked up at him, confused as she tried to understand the implication of his words.
“Last night, he was in a drunk driving accident, by the ti he was taken to the hospital, it was too late. He didn’t survive!”
Shi Yuhuan spoke with such nonchalance, yet his words left Song Qinghuan in shock, her eyes wide and mouth agape.

Song Qinghuan gritted her teeth, seething silently as she tried to suppress her emotions.
Shi Yuhuan continued to watch her, his inscrutable gaze piercing through her as if wanting to see her entire being.
When Song Qinghuan had regained her calm, he spoke again, “You still haven’t answered my question.”
His gaze on her held a hint of expectation amidst the indifference.
He had told her a lot and was waiting for her honesty and trust. Since she had agreed to give their relationship a try, naturally, it ant she trusted him.
“Are you in love with her?” “No!”
Song Qinghuan looked into his eyes, but these two sentences echoed relentlessly in her ears, distant yet prolonged, as if they were floating in the sky but deeply engraved in her mind.
She felt Shi Yuhuan’s sincere invitation to open up to him, but she simply shook her head, “No, I didn’t investigate him.”
Shi Yuhuan’s eyes narrowed slightly, a soft smile hidden at the corner of his mouth. He leaned lazily against the chair back, appearing aloof as if nothing could attract his attention anymore.
Song Qinghuan could distinctly feel, there was a significant difference in Shi Yuhuan now than just a mont ago.

“Let’s go.” Shi Yuhuan got up suddenly and took the initiative to leave first, his presence as freezing cold as the air left behind.
At night, when Song Qinghuan returned to the hotel, Shi Yuhuan had already been back. He was sitting on the couch, reviewing so docunts on his laptop.
Song Qinghuan glanced at the alarm clock. The hour hand had just struck seven, there were still five hours until the day was over.
She bit her lip and set her gaze on Shi Yuhuan.
Shi Yuhuan, absorbed in his laptop, threw a glance at her from the corner of his eyes, then returned to his work, rely stating, “Co here!”
