At noon, Song Qinghuan didn’t eat lunch in the company, simply because wherever she would go, people would stare at her with odd and sharp looks.
So, she went to the Western restaurant across the company and ordered a Western-style fast food al.
Just as she finished ordering and was about to say she was done, a crisp female voice chid in, “Give
the sa thing.”
Looking up, Song Qinghuan saw Han Qianqian sitting across from her, but she looked cold and distant.
The two of them worked in the sa company but hardly ever saw each other since Han Qianqian never went to the company cafeteria. This was the first ti they were seated at the sa table.
Song Qinghuan didn’t want to deal with her and looked out the window.
After taking a sip of water, Han Qianqian put down her cup and asked, “I heard you two had a fight?”
Song Qinghuan rolled her eyes at her, “How is that any of your business?”
Han Qianqian laughed arrogantly, “Of course it’s my business. If you guys are fighting, I have to ask whether you want to divorce or not. If yes, please do so soon, so I can remarry him this year.”
Song Qinghuan looked exasperated, “Why do you insist on marrying Shi Yuhuan? He doesn’t love you. In fact, I haven’t noticed much love from you either.”
Han Qianqian imdiately retorted, “Who says I don’t love him? I love him very much.”
Song Qinghuan snorted, “Do you really think you love him, or do you just see him as the ideal husband material?”
Seeming caught off guard by the analysis, Han Qianqian blustered, “Song Qinghuan, we’re discussing you, not .”
Song Qinghuan calmly told her, “We’re discussing Shi Yuhuan. If he doesn’t love you, wouldn’t you prefer to marry a man who does? To receive genuine love and affection instead of treating marriage as a transaction, calculating investnt and benefits?”
Han Qianqian fell silent for a mont, then said in a deeper voice, “What’s the difference between love and lack of it? They’re not proposing to
but to the Han Group I represent. In that case, why shouldn’t I choose the one I like?”
Song Qinghuan laughed, “If you’re just looking for soone you like, why not Annuo?”
“Who? Annuo? What’s Annuo got to do with this? Why do you keep bringing him up, I’ve told you it’s not possible,” Han Qianqian unexpectedly grew angry.
Song Qinghuan asked, “Why not? I can tell that you really like Annuo, and more importantly, I’ve noticed that Annuo really likes you, even loves you.”
Han Qianqian grew even angrier, “Why are you so annoying? You don’t know anything, and here you are just guessing wildly. I don’t feel like eating anymore, you completely ruined my appetite.”
Song Qinghuan laughed, “Then have a nice day, safe travels!”
“You!” Han Qianqian was so mad her face turned the color of a pig’s trotter.
She huffed and suddenly stood up as if she was going to leave, but then she sat back down, “Who do you think you are? You think I’ll leave just because you want
to? I’ll stay here just to annoy you.”
“Childish, immature!” Song Qinghuan turned her face and saw a man standing at the side, who was also looking at her.
This man seed sowhat familiar…
If she rembered correctly, this was the man who had been standing next to her on the subway over the past couple of days, right?
Was this a coincidence?
Song Qinghuan’s heart started to thump hard, and a bad feeling swept over her.
Across the table, Han Qianqian started talking again, the topic never straying from Shi Yuhuan. She asked if she and Shi Yuhuan were getting a divorce, offered her help and said she could get her the best divorce lawyer and a good share of the property.
But Song Qinghuan wasn’t listening. All she could think about was the man she had just happened to bump into.
