Chapter 183: 183, A family feast at the Shi Family, III

The restaurant was extrely luxurious and spacious, with a large round table in the middle that could accommodate twenty to thirty people at the sa ti.

Shi Xiuren sat at the head of the table, followed by Shi Jingye and his wife, then Li Chengyun, Li Qianze, Si Chen, Shi Guozheng, Shi Mu, Shi Wen, and others.

On the right were Shi Yu, Song Qinghuan, Shi Annuo, Han Qianqian, and many more. Even with all these people seated, there were still two empty spots in the middle.

Seeing everyone seated, Shi Xiuren laughed and said, “It has been a long ti since we’ve had such a large gathering! Now, let’s start the banquet!”

Red wine had already been poured into the glasses on the table.

Everyone raised their glasses and the family banquet officially began, with dish after dish of delectable cuisine being served successively.

Song Qinghuan hadn’t eaten anything from the ti she woke up, and she was already starving, but at this mont, looking at these delicacies, she didn’t dare to move her chopsticks.

Although she had never been part of a prestigious family banquet, she had seen them in movies and TV shows. They were usually not about eating; eating was just a formality, and conversations were the main event.

But she soon realized that the Shi Family’s banquet was indeed about food. Everyone focused on their own al, and no one spoke.

Eventually, Song Qinghuan learned that it was a rule of Shi Xiuren’s for there to be no talking during als. There would be a wine banquet later in the evening, and they could chat and enjoy themselves then.

Seeing everyone engrossed in their food, Song Qinghuan began to relax and eat heartily.

However, she soon lost her appetite again due to an eerie feeling caused by Si Chen, who was sitting opposite her and eyeballing her coldly.

His unabashed scrutiny felt as though he wished to strip her clothes off and dissect her to see what she was made of.

So as soon as the banquet ended, Song Qinghuan found an excuse to slip out of the main house.

Next to the main house was Cuiming Lake, whose green water sparkled like gemstones in the light.

Here, she t two people. The first was Han Qianqian.

Han Qianqian had left the main house before she had. It seed she was trying to escape sothing, most likely related to marriage.

Song Qinghuan found her sitting on a dry smooth rock by the lake, staring calmly at the boundless beauty of the lake.

The wind caused her long black hair to flutter ssily. Her pure face, devoid of any makeup, exuded a subtle hint of lancholy.

Song Qinghuan didn’t want to disturb her and considered turning around and finding a quiet place elsewhere.

However, Han Qianqian had already noticed her and called her over: “Song Qinghuan, why are you running away at the sight of ?”

Song Qinghuan had no choice but to alter her decision. She walked to the lakeside and sat down next to Han Qianqian. “No, I didn’t want to disturb you.”

“Disturb what? You have stolen my man, yet have the cheek to say that,” Han Qianqian seed unhappy, her throat choked up, and her voice sounded sowhat stifled.

Song Qinghuan stared at her for a mont, not knowing what to say: “I’m sorry, actually…”

Han Qianqian glanced at her, “Actually what?”

“Actually…” Song Qinghuan allowed her gaze to drift for a mont, then she smiled, “Actually, Shi Annuo is quite good.”

Han Qianqian frowned in warning, “I know Annuo is good, of course. Let

tell you, you’re already married to his brother. You better not think about him.”

Song Qinghuan looked puzzled, “I’m not thinking about him, I just said he’s a good guy, I think you can consider him.”

“I refuse.” Without thinking, Han Qianqian tersely rejected this proposition.
