After both Angelica and Elena leveled up, all that remained was for Olivia and Madison to do so as well. Because of this, Zane quickly helped the two of them with their own stats. Olivia's was pretty straightforward. With her like the others balancing out her attributes to 15, with 4 additional points to Intelligence, which was an attribute she had a naturally higher base in.

This increase in power was significant for Olivia, who now with her full set of equipnt which was tailor made to her specific archetype allowed her to inflict serious damage upon the undead hordes of the world.

And while Olivia was overjoyed by her sudden leap in power, Madison's own level was about the sa as Angelica's, standing at roughly level 11. There was just one major difference. Angelica's skills were all naturally high, with her wisdom being naturally higher than the others.

But all of Madison's skills were lower than the average person survivor's. The reason for this was because the girl had been raised as a spoiled brat at the peak of privilege. She was never required to develop any life skills other than socializing with other people.

Her status and social skills made her have naturally high charisma, but the cost of this was that everything else was subpar, at least when starting out. This ant that she had spent the first four levels catching up to an average level 1 awakened survivor in terms of attributes.

After all, for everyone level gained, an awakened would also get 2 attribute points. For every five levels gained, they would get an additional attribute point. With most of her skills being below average at level one, Madison was forced to spend 7 attribute points just to catch up to an average level 1 awakened.

As for the remaining six levels she had previously gained, she spent those evenly across the board. Investing two into each stat. Having just gained another stat, Madison was forced to continue to spread them out until she reached a base level of 15, like everyone else already had. Ultimately, making her attributes look sothing like this.

[Force-Field Generation – Tier III]

---

From the mont Madison unlocked her force-field generation skill, Zane had focused on the Constitution being her primary stat. And thus he dedicated slightly more of her gained attribute point towards it when compared to the other stats she had.

This had proven to be a wise decision, since she was now effectively the tank in the group. It was just a pity that she started off with such piss poor attributes, or else she could have been even better at her job.

But Madison was lucky, after all, she had Zane to shoulder so of the pressure for her. She was not alone in tanking damage, rather she had Zane's shield wall of Undead Spearn by her side. This was an enormous relief for the girl, who otherwise might be pressured due to the level of enemies that she and the others were now facing.

She had not expressed this sentint to Zane yet, but she was trying to find the words to do so. However, before she could thank Zane for his help in managing her stats. Soone interrupted them.

The five of them were enjoying themselves with a nice cold drink while behind the safety of Gravestones walls which had not only been expanded beyond their previous periter to include newly gained territory, but also had been reinforced with Stygian Iron, and other materials from the system.

Making them able to withstand repeated assaults by Abominations, as well as making them more difficult to climb over.

The person who interrupted them had overheard their conversation. She had long since been one of Gravestone's residents, and was among its first settlers. However, until recently, she was not an awakened survivor. Instead, she had been in charge of the green house

Having been gifted with what one might call a green thumb since birth, this young woman had a natural affinity for gardening, and had proven to be a valuable asset for the settlent. Though she had successfully awakened under Zane's orders and had been granted a sizeable sum of blood crystals to advance to level five. She, like many other was unaware of how to proceed.

But Zane was a nacing figure. Even if he was respected by the townsfolk as their leader and defender. He was not the most approachable man. For starters, he seldom smiled, and never in public. He also looked at people with a gaze that so more timid mbers of the human race might consider to be frightening.

And as a young woman roughly the sa age as Elena and Madison, this gardener was honestly impressed with how much other "kids" her own age had accomplished. After all, she had only just reached the age of adulthood, and in many ways still had the ntality of an immature adolescent.

It was because of this admiration, especially following the defense of Gravestone against what remained of Eliza's horde that this girl finally decided to introduce herself to the group who were effectively the leaders of the settlent which until now she had been able to reside in peacefully despite the terrifying state of the modern world.

Despite being eighteen years old, the young green-haired woman looked significantly younger. Her figure was petite and slim, her bosom was modest, even smaller than Madison's, who was what one might call dium sized. To top it all off, her face did not look her own age, at least several years younger than she actually was.

Her most glaring feature was her blood-red eyes, which Zane had noticed tracking him throughout the day. He had wanted to tell this girl off for stalking him and the others, but he couldn't help but find her anxious expressions to be nothing but harmless.

Finally, the young woman approached Zane and the girls as they sat down and reveled in their spoils. Her youthful face was flushed as she clutched her hands to her chest. Looking side to side as if she were too shy to ask what she wanted to say.

But since the girl had finally decided to reveal herself, Zane remained quiet as he and the others by his side watched the timid girl internally debate with herself about what to say. Until finally she just blurted it out.

"Excuse ! I…. I would very much appreciate it if you all taught how to properly use this system!"

The girl then bowed her head before Zane and the others in a submissive display that Zane had only previously seen in ani. Silence remained as the girls looked at Zane ,their leader, to see how he would respond.

He, however, did not speak for a while, instead gulping down what remained of his liter of beer, before placing the mug on the table. His eyes were as cold as ever, as was his tone when he finally responded to the young girl. Sending shivers down his spine as he accepted her request.

"Alright… Sit down… Grab a pint… And I'll tell you everything I know…"

The girl's body twitched, almost as if she did not hear the words Zane had spoken, but rather the one in which he spoke. She sighed heavily and began to walk away montarily, while expressing her defeat.

"I understand… I'm sorry to have-"

It was only after saying that did she realize Zane had accepted her offer, causing her to yelp in shock as she looked around frantically for soone to awaken her. Because she genuinely thought she was dreaming.

This caused Olivia to pinch Zane's cheek and scold him for being too cold.

"Zane, do you have to speak so coldly to the girl? You have clearly frightened her!"

Zane ignored the lecture, as instead sat there staring at the girl with chilling black eyes. The ball was officially in her court. If she really wanted to learn how to use the system, he would not ignore her. But if she was too scared to even sit down and learn from him, then she wasn't long for this world.

Either way, he waited for a reply from her.
