Chapter 152: 152: Vampire Sisters II

---

Vera nodded, as if this had been agreed in private long ago.

"We did not demand a ring," Vera said. "We did not demand a ceremony. We demanded proof."

Sekht stared at them for a mont.

He had expected them to ask for written clauses, for seals, for witnesses, for chains made of paper.

Instead they asked for sothing older than paper.

Sothing human.

He understood the strange logic behind it.

If he kissed them, even once, it ant he accepted them as real people rather than purchased tools. It ant he crossed a line that could not be rewritten by the market.

It ant they could believe his promise was not only ink.

Sekht stood up.

He walked around the desk slowly, not rushing, letting them see his decision was not forced. The candlelight followed him across the floor in long moving shadows.

He stopped in front of them.

Vera and Vela looked up.

They did not tremble. They did not blush like sheltered girls. They watched him with the hard softness of won who had seen grief and still wanted warmth anyway.

Sekht spoke quietly.

"This is what you want."

"Yes," Vera said.

"Yes," Vela echoed.

Sekht reached down and lifted Vera’s chin gently with two fingers.

For the first ti, Vera’s breath hitched.

Sekht leaned in.

The kiss was not rough. It was not hungry. It was careful in a way that surprised even him.

Vera’s lips were warm. Her body stayed still for one heartbeat, then softened slightly, like a door that had been locked for years finally turning open.

Sekht pulled back slowly.

Vera’s eyes were bright now, not from tears, but from sothing fierce.

Sekht turned to Vela.

Vela did not wait for him to lift her chin. She leaned forward slightly, eting him halfway.

Her kiss was different. Not softer. More determined. As if she was claiming proof rather than receiving it.

Sekht felt sothing tighten in his chest, not desire, not romance in the simple way, but responsibility.

These were no longer strangers in a viewing room.

They were his.

Not as objects.

As bonds.

He pulled back.

The twins were both breathing a little faster now, but neither looked embarrassed. They looked satisfied, like a contract clause had finally been signed.

Vera’s voice ca out low.

"Now," she said. "Do what you want."

Sekht did not answer imdiately.

He returned to the desk and sat again, as if he needed the wood between them to keep his mind from wandering into emotions he could not afford tonight.

He placed both hands on the desk.

Inside his mind, he called the system.

He did not speak aloud. He did not want servants hearing strange words through the door. He focused.

The system responded. A cold presence, efficient and patient, like a judge who never slept.

Sekht ford the thought clearly.

"How do I turn them?"

The answer arrived without delay.

Sekht’s eyes narrowed slightly at the last line.

Blood God trace.

The system had already flagged it.

Now it was confirming it mattered.

Sekht looked at the twins again.

"You will feel pain," he said.

Vera nodded.

"We know."

"You might lose consciousness," Sekht said.

Vela lifted her chin.

"Then wake us."

Sekht did not smile.

"This is not a normal wound," he said. "This is changing what you are."

Vera’s voice stayed steady.

"That is why we agreed."

Sekht exhaled slowly.

He could feel the poison in his own body tug once, like it was reminding him that enemies existed even inside his veins. He pushed it down with chaos energy and kept his face calm.

He stood again.

"Co closer," he said.

The twins rose without hesitation and stepped toward the desk.

Sekht reached out and took Vera’s hand first. His grip was firm but not cruel.

Vera did not flinch.

He took Vela’s hand with the other.

Two hands. Two pulses.

He could feel their blood moving beneath their skin. Strong. Controlled. Chaos Rank One blood, already thick with energy.

The hunger in him stirred.

Not wild.

It was focused.

He guided them to stand on the other side of the desk, near the chair and the side table where the tea cups sat. The candlelight here was brighter, making the scene feel too normal for what was about to happen.

Sekht spoke quietly.

"Remove your collars."

They did. Not clothing, but the decorative bands that marked them as market property. The tal clicked softly as it ca off.

Sekht watched the faint marks on their wrists where the bands had pressed for too long. He rembered chains. His jaw tightened for a mont.

Then he stepped behind Vera.

Vera’s breath slowed, and she tilted her head slightly to the side, offering her neck without fear.

Vela stood still beside her, eyes watching, not jealous, not anxious, only intense.

Sekht lowered his face toward Vera’s neck. He could sll her skin. Clean, but with a faint iron undertone that only soone like him noticed.

He opened his mouth. His fangs slid out, smooth and sharp.

Vera’s breath hitched again, but she did not move away.

Sekht bit.

Not a savage bite.

A precise puncture.

Vera gasped and gripped the edge of the desk, knuckles whitening.

Warm blood touched Sekht’s tongue.

It was not ordinary warmth.

It was chaos energy, it was warmth, a taste like hot tal and storm air.

Sekht drank.

Not too much.

Enough.

He felt the resonance form instantly, like a thread snapping into place between them.

Vera trembled. Her legs stayed steady, but her shoulders shivered as the bite’s pain moved deeper than nerves.
