Chapter 96: A Happy Ending
When ng Chao received the news that ng Ke and Han Zhi had encountered a terrorist attack, it was the middle of the night back ho.
The urgent ringing of the phone woke ng Chao and Lin Qin. The call was from Han Zhi’s agent, reporting that a music festival in K City, a certain country in Europe, had been the target of a terrorist attack. The death toll had already exceeded twenty, and the number was still rising as rescue efforts continued.
Both Han Zhi and ng Ke had attended the concert, and the venue was now in chaos; there was no way to contact them.
Upon hearing this, ng Chao’s heart tightened instantly. He made the decision to rush to Europe overnight.
Lin Qin didn’t stop him. Although he knew that the situation there was still unstable and dangerous, he also understood that if he didn’t let ng Chao go, ng Chao wouldn’t be able to rest easy.
"Brother Chao, be careful." Lin Qin escorted ng Chao to the door. ng Chao held Lin Qin’s nape firmly and gave him a fierce kiss before disappearing into the night.
After returning to the bedroom, Lin Qin couldn’t sleep no matter what. Instead, he opened his phone to check the latest news on the incident.
The news had already spread dostically, and people were praying for K City all over Weibo. Soone had also revealed that Han Zhi had attended the concert, causing a frenzy among Han Zhi’s fans.
If this were false information, Han Zhi’s company should clarify to avoid unnecessary panic. However, Chutian Entertainnt remained silent on the matter, leaving social dia eerily quiet.
So desperate fans began grasping at straws, flooding Lin Qin’s Weibo with ssages asking for answers. After all, Lin Qin was the young heir of Chutian Entertainnt and would know where their artist was.
Lin Qin, already anxious and distressed, grew even more irritated after reading their pleas. He couldn’t sit still.
Nevertheless, Lin Qin restrained himself from replying. He knew that no matter what he said now, it would be wrong. Just like the fans, he was impatiently waiting for news.
After struggling through the night, Lin Qin finally received a call from his mother, Chu Ge, in the morning.
"Did ng Chao leave for Europe?"
In just one night, the news of ng Ke being caught in the attack had spread across high society circles. The ng Family was now pulling every string they had to find ng Ke’s whereabouts. However, given the chaos over there, even connections couldn’t quickly obtain any information.
Knowing the deep bond between ng Chao and ng Ke, Chu Ge was certain that ng Chao would rush to Europe at the first opportunity after hearing the news.
Lin Qin confird Chu Ge’s suspicions with a simple "Yes." Chu Ge sighed and asked, "Should you go visit Aunt Lan?" Aunt Lan was the mother of ng Chao and ng Ke. If there was anyone most distraught right now, it would undoubtedly be her.
Lin Qin thought his mother was right. After ending the call, he drove to the ng Family’s old residence.
The old residence was bustling with activity, but when Lin Qin saw Aunt Lan, her deanor was unexpectedly calm. She didn’t seem too rattled by the events.
When Aunt Lan saw Lin Qin, she gestured for him to co closer. "You’re very thoughtful," she said.
"Aunt Lan, are you alright?" Lin Qin asked worriedly as he sat beside her.
"I believe in their good fortune; they’ll surely be fine," Aunt Lan said with conviction. But Lin Qin could tell that her words were as much to comfort herself as they were for him.
"Yes, they’ll definitely be fine!" Lin Qin echoed her determination.
Just like that, another day passed, and they finally received an update from ng Chao.
ng Chao: "I’ve arrived in Europe. All is well, don’t worry."
However, this didn’t help ease Lin Qin’s anxiety. Knowing that ng Chao was now in that turbulent region only made him more unsettled.
anwhile, there was still no news of Han Zhi. Chutian Entertainnt’s private ssages had been flooded, with fans frantically asking whether Han Zhi was in Europe, whether he was safe, and if so, begging him to post a ssage on Weibo to reassure everyone.
But Han Zhi couldn’t possibly post on Weibo in this situation. His fate – whether alive or not – was still unknown. There was no way to post sothing to mislead the public.
Eventually, Chutian Entertainnt could no longer withstand the pressure from the fans and issued a statent.
Chutian Entertainnt v: We firmly believe that he will be alright. @Han Zhi, if you see this, please respond.
This Weibo post directly addressed the issue of Han Zhi’s presence in K City. Many fans broke down in tears upon seeing it, following the official format to tag Han Zhi and plead for him to reply.
Lin Qin maintained continuous contact with ng Chao, but the sheer number of people at the music festival, coupled with the chaos caused by the attack, made the magnitude of devastation unimaginable.
Despite K City’s full-scale rescue efforts, the damage was too extensive to be handled swiftly.
ng Chao joined the rescue operations, sparing only brief monts to check in with Lin Qin and his family.
Two days passed unknowingly, and rescue missions finally showed progress.
During this ti, Lin Qin didn’t dare sleep, afraid he’d miss critical updates.
He eventually managed to take a short nap, but as soon as he woke up, he checked his phone for the latest news.
When he opened Weibo, he found Han Zhi’s post topping the charts.
Han Zhi v: I’m fine, currently assisting with rescue work. Sorry for making you all worry. [Image]
Han Zhi included a selfie, showing himself covered in dirt, completely devoid of his usual refined appearance. Yet, it was an image that brought incredible relief.
With Han Zhi found, what about ng Ke? Lin Qin prayed silently.
By midday, Lin Qin finally received another call from ng Chao. Though it had only been two days since he’d last heard ng Chao’s voice, it felt like an eternity.
ng Chao: "Tonight’s flight. I should arrive tomorrow evening."
Lin Qin couldn’t help but cry, choking out a "Welco back."
ng Chao quickly shifted the topic, saying, "My brother and Han Zhi are coming back with . My brother’s finally returning to the country."
Lin Qin knew ng Ke had jokingly vowed not to return to the country until he won Han Zhi over. Now, hearing this from ng Chao, it was clear that ng Ke and Han Zhi had finally achieved their happy ending.
Finally!
Lin Qin couldn’t contain his joy for ng Ke, crying and laughing on the phone with ng Chao.
ng Chao comforted him briefly before hearing the airport’s boarding announcent, prompting him to end the call.
Though ng Chao had explicitly told Lin Qin not to wait for him, Lin Qin still went to the airport to pick him up on the day of his return.
There were many passengers on the flight who, like ng Ke and Han Zhi, had survived the accident. Despite landing close to midnight, the airport was packed with waiting relatives.
Surviving such an ordeal naturally made everyone eager to reunite with their loved ones, and their anxious families needed the reassurance as well.
As the airport broadcast announced the arrival of the flight, this vessel carrying so many hopes finally landed amidst the anticipation of the waiting crowd.
