Chapter 83: Call Husband

The war between Lin Chengdu and Chu Ge finally ended before dinner. Lin Qin exhaled a long sigh of relief while holding his bowl, grateful for the peace and quiet.

After dinner, Chu Ge looked at Lin Qin as though she wanted to say sothing but hesitated. Her eyes darted toward the darkening sky, and she seed restless.

Lin Qin more or less understood Chu Ge’s aning. He said, "Mom, it’s getting late. Why don’t you stay here tonight?"

Chu Ge was just about to nod when Lin Chengdu, who was sitting nearby watching TV, interjected faintly, "Are you my wife or my girlfriend? Staying overnight at my house—aren’t you afraid of what people will say?"

Chu Ge nearly choked on this, her anger bubbling to the surface as she gritted her teeth and hissed, "Fine! I’ll leave right now!"

Without waiting for Lin Chengdu’s response, she grabbed her bag and stord out, slamming the door shut with a loud bang. It was clear she was utterly fuming inside.

Lin Qin glanced at the door, which had been gently closed earlier, then turned to his father and asked, "Dad, is it really okay to let Mom go ho alone so late?"

Lin Chengdu furrowed his brows, and suddenly said, "I just rembered—my car door might not be locked. I’ll go check it now." As if he’d found the perfect excuse, Lin Chengdu left in a hurry after saying this.

Lin Qin watched his father’s hurried retreating figure, smiling without saying much.

Lin Chengdu might actually have gone to escort Chu Ge ho, because he didn’t return for a long while. Just then, Lin Qin received a call from ng Chao.

Seeing the caller ID, Lin Qin’s eyes curved with a smile, and he imdiately pressed the answer button. "ng Chao, good evening!"

"You seem to be in a good mood." ng Chao’s voice carried a hint of grievance. "anwhile, I’ve been longing for you so much that I lost my appetite."

Lin Qin swiftly responded, "I miss ng Chao too! Ever since I left, I’ve been thinking about you."

ng Chao finally chuckled. "Really? How much do you miss ? Miss enough to want to kiss you? Or miss enough to want to..." His last sentence trailed off seductively, leaving Lin Qin to contemplate the fiery implication.

Lin Qin’s face imdiately turned bright red. He mumbled shyly, "Both... both..."

ng Chao: "Are you in your room now?"

Lin Qin shook his head, then realized ng Chao couldn’t see him since they weren’t on a video call. He added, "No, I’m downstairs in the living room."

"Then go upstairs now," ng Chao said in a low, raspy voice, the tone tickling Lin Qin’s heart and leaving him itching with anticipation. "I’ll show you your beloved treasure."

ng Chao’s unexpected flirtation made Lin Qin burn all over. Yet, obediently, he clutched his phone and headed back to his room, carefully locking the door behind him.

Lin Qin: "ng Chao, I’m in my room now."

ng Chao: "Good. I’m going to start the video call now."

After saying this, ng Chao hung up. Soon, Lin Qin’s phone rang again—this ti, it was a video call request from ng Chao.

When the handso face appeared on Lin Qin’s screen, he couldn’t help but swallow hard and softly called out, "ng Chao."

ng Chao smiled teasingly. "Are you on the bed now?"

Lin Qin moved to his bed, wrapping himself up completely in the blanket.

"Qinqin." ng Chao’s deep, husky voice ca through the phone, laced with an endless undercurrent of desire.

Lin Qin shivered at the sound.

What followed ca naturally. Lin Qin, lost in the hypnotic cadence of ng Chao’s voice, reached an unprecedented climax.

"ng Chao~" Lin Qin’s voice was soft and sweet, like a delicate hook that reeled ng Chao completely in.

ng Chao let out a low growl. "You little temptress!"

Soft and sweet, like a fragrant little bunny spirit—one that made him want to devour her whole, leaving not even the bones behind.

ng Chao, who had intended to tempt Lin Qin into taking bold actions, now found himself unable to escape his own emotions. At that mont, he wished he could fly to Lin Qin’s side.

Lin Qin, unaware of ng Chao’s inner turmoil, lay on the bed catching his breath. It wasn’t until a while later that he realized ng Chao hadn’t fully released his tension, so he asked, "ng Chao, are you okay?"

ng Chao suppressed his need and replied, "I’m fine." Though his voice was hoarse to the extre.

"ng Chao, what should I do?" Lin Qin asked urgently, his post-climax voice even softer and sultrier, reigniting the fire ng Chao had struggled to extinguish.

ng Chao intended to say he didn’t need her to do anything, but the words morphed at the last second: "Call sothing sweet."

Sweet? Lin Qin was puzzled. He searched his mind for all kinds of terms but couldn’t figure out what ng Chao wanted to hear.

ng Chao noticed Lin Qin’s expression of confusion and reassured him with a chuckle. "It’s okay, I was joking. It’s enough for just to look at you."

Lin Qin suddenly whispered shyly, "Husband."

Though quiet, ng Chao distinctly heard it.

That soft, endearing "husband," full of implied affection, struck ng Chao straight to the core.

ng Chao: "Good boy, say it again."

Having said it once, Lin Qin gathered so courage for the second, his voice a little louder this ti. "Husband."

"Say it again."

"Husband."

...

And so, Lin Qin was coaxed into calling ng Chao "husband" several tis. By the ti ng Chao finally released, Lin Qin had wrapped himself up tightly in the blanket like a cocoon, his cheeks flushed as red as stead crab.

Lin Qin was truly embarrassed. Without waiting for ng Chao to say more, he hung up the call directly.

He patted his cheeks, which still felt hot to the touch.

But in the next mont, he opened his phone, looked at ng Chao’s photo, and whispered sweetly, "Husband."

anwhile, on the other side of the capital, ng Chao seed to have heard that quiet "husband." Holding his phone, he smiled with infinite tenderness in his eyes.

"ng Chao." A deep voice ca from the doorway, pulling ng Chao’s thoughts back from his call with Lin Qin.

ng Chao quickly tidied up his room and walked to the door to open it. Standing there was an elderly man with a commanding presence.

"Grandfather." ng Chao greeted him with restrained deference.

The man in front of him was none other than the current head of the ng Family—ng Zhao Kang.

Though ng Zhao Kang was already over 80 years old, he appeared like he was in his sixties, with a robust build and sharp vitality. Though he seed to have delegated all power to the younger generation, he still held an iron grip on the ng Family’s true authority.

ng Chao had long understood this dynamic. Disliking constraints and fueled by his love for acting, he had chosen not to join the family business and instead pursued a career in acting.

"Co to the study with ." ng Zhao Kang said, expressionless as always, making it impossible for anyone to discern his emotions from his face—a skill he had always mastered.

ng Chao, however, had so understanding of his grandfather’s mood. At the very least, he could sense that the old man wasn’t in a good mood—perhaps even enraged.

As soon as they entered the study, ng Zhao Kang threw a book onto the desk with casual force, exuding authority.

"I hear you’re dating soone?" ng Zhao Kang asked.
