Chapter 55: Get the Hell Out
After Fang Minghui finished speaking, he looked every bit as smug as if he already had victory in hand.
In his mind, since Lin Qin was willing to lower himself for ng Chao, naturally, he’d be willing to do the sa for him. After all, what’s the difference in selling yourself to one person versus another? Surely Lin Qin didn’t think he could pick and choose, right?
Fang Minghui’s intentions were sowhat unexpected to Lin Qin, but at the sa ti, they were perfectly predictable.
After all these years, Fang Minghui was still the sa foul creature, always believing the world revolved around him. Whatever he said was law, leaving no room for others to object.
But Lin Qin had always been, and still remained, the person who would say no to him. He was like this back in high school, and he was still like this now.
"Fang Minghui." Lin Qin pulled the blanket tighter around himself. Fear instinctively coursed through him at the sight of this man, yet his voice remained firm and resolute. "You’re filthy. Don’t assu others are just as filthy as you. My relationship with Brother Chao is pure; it’s a clean and upright connection with nothing shaful about it."
To Lin Qin, his love with ng Chao was sacred and untouchable. He would not tolerate Fang Minghui’s slander.
Each word Lin Qin spoke was powerful and irrefutable, echoing like a hamr striking stone.
Fang Minghui sneered mockingly, "Pure and upright? Don’t try to tell you’re that naive. Do you honestly think there’s such a thing as ’pure love’ in the entertainnt industry? Lin Qin, don’t let yourself be fooled by others."
Sprawled lazily on the sofa’s backrest, Fang Minghui’s posture was nonchalant and relaxed, but his aura remained aggressive and suffocating. "Let spell it out for you today—if you agree to follow , I’ll make sure your career in this industry flourishes. But if you refuse to recognize what’s good for you, I’ll ensure you’re forced out of this industry. Haven’t you already experienced the power I hold?"
Recalling past events, Lin Qin’s pupils contracted, and paralyzing fear spread throughout his body. But his inner stubbornness refused to let him show even a shred of weakness before this man. He didn’t want Fang Minghui to see him break—not even a little.
Lin Qin bit down hard on the tip of his tongue and pinched his thigh forcefully, using the sharp pain to steady himself. His voice grew colder as he said, "Fang Minghui, all these years, you haven’t changed one bit. I used to fear you in high school. Now, do you really think I still would?"
It was Fang Minghui who had orchestrated the bullying campaign that ruined Lin Qin’s high school years—and even the years that followed. But things were different now. He was no longer alone. He had his parents, Chu Hong, the fans who adored him, and, most importantly, ng Chao by his side.
He wasn’t standing on his own anymore. And if he couldn’t survive in the entertainnt industry, so what? His true purpose was ng Chao, not achieving stardom in this field.
Besides, did Fang Minghui truly have the power to force him out of the industry?
The more Lin Qin thought about it, the more confident he beca. His fears lost their grip on him. Instead, he appeared increasingly self-assured and radiant.
When you carry love in your heart, you gain the strength to face anything.
In that mont, Fang Minghui visibly realized that Lin Qin had changed. The timid fear he once saw in Lin Qin’s eyes had ebbed away, replaced by strength and a faint trace of ridicule.
An inexplicable rage flared within Fang Minghui. What gave Lin Qin the right to grow stronger? Shouldn’t Lin Qin always be cowering under his thumb, struggling to survive?
"Lin Qin, do you really think you’ve made it big?" Finally, Fang Minghui attributed Lin Qin’s transformation to his recent fa. He believed Lin Qin had grown arrogant after becoming an international film star and garnering so popularity.
But none of that mattered during the high-stakes ga of capital. Without significant backers, what was an international film star even worth? He wouldn’t even be able to land a project!
"Think whatever you want to think." Lin Qin had no desire to argue further with Fang Minghui. "Mr. Fang, let make one thing clear: I, Lin Qin, would rather starve to death with no roles to take than grovel before you and beco your so-called personal possession."
In high school, even when faced with relentless bullying that pushed him into social anxiety and despair, he hadn’t begged for rcy from Fang Minghui. And now, he certainly wouldn’t.
Furious at Lin Qin’s unyielding attitude, Fang Minghui sprang up and lunged at him, his face twisted into a sinister grin. "Lin Qin, you don’t get to say no."
Over the years, he’d encountered his fair share of small-ti stars who initially acted all high and mighty. Usually, all it took was force to subdue them. Afterward, he’d offer them so compensation, and they’d turn around and worship him, begging for more.
All it would take...
All it would take was for Lin Qin to experience a taste of the benefits he could offer, and Lin Qin, too, would fall into line.
As these thoughts emboldened Fang Minghui, he pressed his hands onto Lin Qin’s shoulders, pinning him down. His head lowered, ready to claim Lin Qin’s lips.
Lin Qin, the man he’d been obsessing over for the past seven or eight years, was finally within arm’s reach. There was no way he’d let this mont slip through his fingers.
Lin Qin never imagined Fang Minghui would act so brazenly in a living room laden with surveillance caras. Startled into a stupor, he froze in fear.
It wasn’t until Fang Minghui’s lips were dangerously close that Lin Qin snapped out of it. He began to struggle violently.
"Fang Minghui, get the hell off !" Lin Qin wasn’t good at cursing. Even in the heat of the mont, all he could manage were words that lacked true bite.
But Lin Qin was genuinely panicking now. His voice rose, his tone quivered, and his final words escaped his lips in a faltering shout.
"Lin Qin, just behave and cooperate with . When it’s over, I’ll imdiately invest in a big-budget movie for you." Fang Minghui thought Lin Qin was rely playing coy and continued his increasingly aggressive advances.
At that mont, a figure suddenly stord into the living room, grabbed the back of Fang Minghui’s collar, and yanked him away.
The sheer strength of the newcor lifted Fang Minghui clean off the ground. Before he could react—
A heavy punch slamd into his nose with brutal force, instantly drawing a stream of blood.
Pain radiated through Fang Minghui’s nose as he raised a hand to touch it, only to find his fingers covered in blood.
Shocked and disoriented, he looked up, attempting to see who had struck him. Before he could get a clear view, a powerful kick landed squarely between his legs with unerring precision.
This ti, Fang Minghui couldn’t hold back a shrill scream, his voice echoing throughout the villa, loud enough to disturb the birds resting in the bamboo grove outside.
Writhing in agony, Fang Minghui’s body curled into itself as he clutched his groin, wailing in pain. Compared to this, the sting in his nose seed trivial.
Hot tears spilled from his eyes as he clumsily glanced up to see a tall figure standing before him, brimming with fury and clearly ready to strike again.
When his vision finally cleared, Fang Minghui realized who that imposing silhouette belonged to.
"ng Chao!" Fang Minghui snarled through clenched teeth, equal parts enraged and hurting.
"It’s ," ng Chao replied, his anger seething, yet his voice icy and chilling.
