Chapter 18: Go Big

Zhang Yue held a notebook as thick as a pinky finger in his hand. Before opening it, he assud it was Lin Qin’s acting notes. However, upon flipping open the cover, he realized the entire book was a character biography.

From birth to death, every little detail about the character was ticulously inscribed in the biography, incredibly detailed.

In an instant, Zhang Yue understood that this was Lin Qin’s answer to the question he had just asked.

How could he rge himself more closely with the character? Lin Qin’s thod was to imrse himself in the character’s entire life, to thoroughly comprehend the character’s personality and environnt, and then embody the role himself.

A thick character biography was the proof.

Suddenly, a feeling nad guilt arose in Zhang Yue’s heart, because just a mont ago, he had been internally dismissing Lin Qin as relying purely on talent and luck, completely negating Lin Qin’s efforts.

Lin Qin’s current achievents couldn’t simply be summarized as talent and luck. Without ticulous preparation, even if opportunities presented themselves, sheer luck and talent wouldn’t have been enough to seize them, let alone catapult Lin Qin to stardom.

If previously Zhang Yue had only regarded Lin Qin as a peer and soone lucky, this detailed character biography alone was enough for Zhang Yue to genuinely call him "teacher."

Zhang Yue looked up at Lin Qin’s focused figure sketching on the wall and said earnestly, "Mr. Lin, may I borrow this notebook for two days? I promise to study it well and return it to you afterward."

Lin Qin’s hand paused for a mont before agreeing.

The casting for *Tale of Twin Emotions* was a thing of the past, so the character biography was no longer of practical use to him, except for its sentintal value. Since it could benefit Zhang Yue, he had no issue lending it.

Getting Lin Qin’s approval, Zhang Yue was overjoyed, his movents becoming noticeably more efficient.

After that, the two didn’t exchange any further words. Once Lin Qin finished sketching on one wall, he called ng Chao and Jin Feiyun over to paint it. After carefully instructing ng Chao, he picked up another brush and moved to a different wall.

The four divided their duties. The design was simple, so they managed to finish the task before lunch.

The overall interior design style was Lin Qin’s concept. Once the paintings on the four walls were complete, it seamlessly rged with the decor of the first floor. One wall displayed several photos, creating the warmth of a family from a distance.

Zhang Yue took one last look around and gave Lin Qin a thumbs-up. "Mr. Lin, amazing!"

Lin Qin smiled slightly and said courteously, "Thank you."

Jin Feiyun had just taken a shower and was heading downstairs when she called out, "What’s for lunch? I’m starving." Her candid tone was accompanied by a rub of her stomach.

Her words reminded everyone that it was lunchti.

Zhang Yue imdiately pulled out his phone and suggested, "Why don’t we order takeout? Mr. Lin, Mr. ng, do you know any good restaurants nearby?"

For celebrities like them, even finding ti to rest was a luxury, let alone cooking. Eight out of ten wouldn’t even touch a kitchen faucet.

Zhang Yue assud Lin Qin and ng Chao were no exception and suggested takeout right away.

"The production team has a no-takeout policy," ng Chao reminded. Lin Qin followed up, "How about noodles? I’ll make so." With that, he headed to his room, took a quick shower, and changed into fresh clothes before coming back downstairs.

ng Chao ca down after him, walking alongside Lin Qin. "I’ll help you out."

The kitchen was open-plan, with ample space between the stove and the countertop, leaving plenty of room even for two grown n to work together.

Lin Qin opened the fridge and casually asked, "Brother ng, what kind of noodles do you want?"

"I’ll eat whatever you cook," ng Chao replied, already washing a pot.

Lin Qin took out so ingredients from the fridge, gave ng Chao a few instructions, and then pulled out so flour to start kneading dough. He had just checked and realized the pre-made noodles wouldn’t be enough, so he decided to make fresh hand-pulled noodles instead.

Though ng Chao wasn’t an expert cook, he occasionally prepared simple als at ho and was perfectly capable of chopping vegetables.

The two didn’t say much after that, yet they moved with seamless coordination. Though it was their first ti working together in the kitchen, everything proceeded in an orderly manner. A single glance from Lin Qin was enough for ng Chao to understand what utensil or ingredient he needed.

As Lin Qin kneaded the dough, he felt an itch on his face. He tried to rub it with his elbow, but since his elbow was dusted in flour, he ended up saring so on his face.

When ng Chao turned around after chopping vegetables and saw him, he grabbed a tissue, dampened it slightly, and reached out to wipe the flour off Lin Qin’s face.

The warm touch of ng Chao’s fingers, even through the tissue, transferred onto Lin Qin’s skin. Lin Qin froze for a mont. This ti, he didn’t instinctively dodge but blankly let ng Chao wipe the flour away before snapping back to his senses.

Quickly lowering his head, Lin Qin feigned composure and continued kneading the dough. However, the redness creeping up his ears betrayed his feelings in that mont.

ng Chao withdrew his hand and rubbed his fingers together. Even through the tissue, he could still feel the velvety texture of Lin Qin’s skin—a sensation that lingered in his mind.

Moreover...

ng Chao couldn’t help but smirk. Lin Qin hadn’t resisted his touch this ti. Did this an Lin Qin was starting to grow accustod to his presence? That on a physical level, he no longer rejected him?

In the nearby living room, Zhang Yue was curled up on the couch reading Lin Qin’s character biography. The more he read, the more astonished he beca, and the more his admiration for Lin Qin grew. He could sense Lin Qin’s dedication and professionalism through the small notebook, a quality he couldn’t match himself.

Sitting cross-legged on the sofa, Jin Feiyun occasionally glanced toward the kitchen. The more she watched, the more unsettled she felt. She couldn’t shake the impression that there was a dynamic between Lin Qin and ng Chao that no one else could intrude upon—a kind of unspoken bond that excluded her.

This made Jin Feiyun feel uneasy. She bit her lip, hesitation flickering in her eyes. Unlocking her phone, she reopened it several tis in hesitation. Finally, as if making up her mind, she accessed her alternate Weibo account and posted a tweet.

Afterward, she bit her lip again and sent a WeChat ssage to her manager.

Jin Feiyun: Sister Zheng, arrange for marketing accounts to expose my alternate Weibo account.

Her manager replied shortly after, clearly having noticed the tweet from Jin Feiyun’s alternate account.

Zheng Haitang: Are you sure you want to expose this particular post?

Jin Feiyun: Sister Zheng, I think this is an opportunity we can’t afford to miss.

Zheng Haitang: What direction do you want public opinion to take?

Jin Feiyun: Fra it as and ng living together, preparing for our wedding, and decorating the marital ho together.

If there’s an opportunity, go big or go ho.
