Dubian Che sized her up and down.

Kiyono Lin turned away, protectively clutching her shopping basket.

Who would steal that kind of thing? She hadn’t even paid for it yet.

"You don’t happen to be so busy that you didn’t know about the typhoon, do you? And then ended up hungry for two days?" Dubian Che speculated.

"Do you think I’m you?"

"Then why would you grab two boxes of conve..." Because the girl’s eyes conveyed a ’say another word and I’ll kill you’ chill, Dubian Che chose to stop while he was ahead.

He changed the subject, "So you did know about the typhoon, huh? Why didn’t you tell ? I was utterly and plainly starving for two days."

"I didn’t know." Kiyono Lin said with a tone of self-reproach.

"Then what was that ’Do you think I’m you’ about?"

"What I ant was, I didn’t stupidly go two days without food like soone, I at least ate so fruit."

"...The fruit was an impulse buy, right? Which ans you didn’t prepare any supplies for the typhoon. Given that, I don’t see why you’re putting on airs like you’re all that."

"Goodbye." Kiyono Lin turned to go to the checkout.

"You can grab another box, it’s fine, I won’t tell anyone, nor will I laugh at you." Despite what Dubian Che said, the girl still didn’t stop.

However, she turned and headed to the snack aisle.

Girls are crafty, claiming to have a separate stomach for snacks and desserts, eating so much; any boy fooled by such cute claims is an idiot!

Despite priding himself on seeing through girls’ true nature, Dubian Che still chose to keep his mouth shut.

Ladies and gentlen, this wasn’t cowardice, but rather judging the situation.

Whether for a secretary’s work now or as a future pri minister, this was a necessary skill.

During his bout of random thoughts, Dubian Che had already selected two boxed als, a pork cutlet and eel rice, then bought barley tea and rice balls as well.

At the checkout, Kiyono Lin was just ahead of him.

Kiyono Lin scanned each item’s barcode under the machine and happened to notice that Dubian Che’s basket had only two boxed als, freezing montarily in her actions.

Unaware Dubian Che, asked about the Cultural Festival, "Is the film editing done yet?"

Kiyono Lin remained silent.

Dubian Che assud she was peeved about the earlier incident and nonchalantly said, "If it’s done, send it to to look at tonight."

Kiyono Lin finished paying and moved aside.

Dubian Che stepped up to the machine and after scanning each item, stuffed a ten-thousand yen bill into it. When the change clattered down, he grabbed it all and shoved it into the plastic bag.

Outside the convenience store, the weather, which had been hot the previous days, took on a chilly note, the wind strong enough to muss one’s hair, making it cold without a coat.

Dubian Che looked at Kiyono Lin, standing at the doorway, and asked in confusion, "Waiting for ?"

Kiyono Lin hesitated for a mont, then nodded.

"Is there sothing you need?" he said, pulling out a rice ball from the plastic bag and taking a big bite.

Kiyono Lin glanced at the rice ball in his hand, "About the film, we might not make it in ti."

"Ah, it’s truly a storm in more ways than one," Dubian Che took another bite of the rice ball.

Despite being a bit concerned about how much a boy could bite in one go, Kiyono Lin asked in surprise, "Aren’t you angry?"

"You did your best, right?"

Dubian Che stuffed the remainder of the rice ball into his mouth, crumpled up the packaging, put it into the plastic bag, and took out the barley tea.

Unscrewing the cap, he continued, "I was the one who suggested making a movie, but I threw the most important work to you. I have no right to bla you."

"One thing I must make clear," Kiyono Lin’s gaze lingered on his bobbing Adam’s apple, "if it weren’t for the lack of food resupply, I would have already finished editing the film."

"Indeed, you can’t do anything without eating, I didn’t even get to exercise today." Dubian Che screwed the cap back on, "So, let help you."

Kiyono Lin gave him a surprised look.

She had stayed to get Dubian Che’s help.

But for soone who is used to doing everything alone, and after having claid she could handle it, asking for help took so courage.

"I didn’t expect you to be quite gentle, I thought you’d take this opportunity to mock ." Kiyono Lin subconsciously toyed with her hair, then raised her hand only to realize she had tucked all her hair into a hat today.

"No, not gentle at all. I’m only like this with you, Kiyono."

"Class president, what’s this about an aquarium?"

"Uhm... well, actually I am quite gentle," Dubian Che conceded.

What could he do? He was the male lead, after all, even though "400 kiloters from Iwate Prefecture to Tokyo" wasn’t a light novel.

Kiyono Lin touched the corner of her mouth and smiled, "I don’t dislike this side of you."

"Have you fallen for ?"

"That’s one thing I really dislike about you."

"...Let’s keep talking about the film."

Kiyono Lin thought for a mont, "Co with ."

Both of them headed to Kiyono Lin’s upscale apartnt under the mist-like drizzle, the puddles on the road reflecting neon lights of various colors.

The typhoon paused, leaving the streets in silence.

Upon arriving at Kiyono Lin’s apartnt, the air felt even better to Dubian Che.

His own rental was stuffy, with a hint of dampness; even the air outside on the streets couldn’t compare to what rich people breathed after filtration through premium purifiers.

Not to ntion, there was the presence of a 9-point charm beauty inside.

Kiyono Lin took off her hat, her black hair banded by a milky white hair tie, and she peeled off the detective-like long coat to reveal a white short-sleeved shirt underneath.

Before getting to work, they decided to eat first.

"How much have you done already?" Dubian Che said, savoring the delicious eel.

"Halfway done." Kiyono Lin also nibbled at her boxed al.
